It sounds as if you are dehydrated. If you can’t drink, you need IV fluids to at least set you on the correct path. Dehydration itself can make it harder to tolerate fluids. Have you tried other liquids than just straight water?

Me last year... and me just over 6 months post op and down about 110-115lbs 😊 And yes, my work bathroom is blindingly yellow... I can’t use that bathroom when I have a headache LOL -
Okay let me preface this by saying I am a water fiend. I drink so much water that I am fairly sure I slosh. Be that as it may, I do notice that if I drink too much on an empty stomach I get mild heartburn. I usually take a prilosec maybe once a month and it goes away pretty much instantly but it is always because of water. Does this happen to anyone else?

Awesome awesome awesome! Isn't it a WONDERFUL feeling?!? I love running

Whenever you feel discouraged by believing your weightloss is not as much as you think it should be, try to put it in perspective. Prior to this, have you ever lost 70lbs in 6 months? That's over 10lbs a month. That is phenomenal. YES some people lose weight faster. But also many lose weight slower. I think many people have unrealistic expectations on how quickly they will lose the weight. Remember, this decision has you 70lbs closer to a normal weight range, 70lbs closer to being healthy, and 70lbs safer from obesity complications. There is no negative feelings or disappointment to be had in that.

NSV's of the week: I bought a little something fancy for my date night with the husband this weekend. I purchased an XL corset, and even with the laces tied as tightly as possible it was way to big. I know they say to size down, but never did that before. And the (regular women's) XL sized thigh highs were huge! I swear I could have fit both legs in them LOL. (That's the running, It is honestly like someone sliced my legs in half I've lost so much weight in them.) Also this gal can wrap a regular sized towel around herself without ANY gap! It doesn't look like some risque lingerie playing peek-a-boo anymore!

Of all the things I expected to suffer in aesthetics from my surgery, I have to admit I kind of didn’t see my bum turning into this totally flat uninteresting thing! I kid you not LEGGINGS fall down with nothing to hold on to. WTH do I do?!? I’m running, I’m doing kettleball swings, I do an obscene amount of squats, and I pretty much use lunges as a viable form of transportation. What else can I do to save my poor bum?!? I know time will tone things up but if there are any workouts you guys can think of I’d be super interested in hearing about them! Literally cannot keep pants up! #saggybottomjeans Any workout advice would be appreciated!

For those of you not in the US I wish you a fantastic Thursday! My turkey day breakfast: 1. my morning coffee with a homemade protein “creamer” flavored in pumpkin spice. 2. Cranberry raspberry protein shake 3. (Will eat this for my mid-morning snack) cranberry pecan cheeseball with celery ❤️ I wish you a special day, and for those of you that celebrate, a fantastic start to the Christmas season!

Great Article/Blog Post: Deadly Mistakes With WLS Than Can Ruin Your Life
Kay07 replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I personally love the last one, that WLS DOES NOT CURE MORBID OBESITY. I feel like this is a huge point. This is a fantastic tool to ENABLE you to succeed but will not succeed for you. It takes mindfulness, and a true understanding of what drives you in order to succeed long term. And yes #6 because dehydration sucks balls. I mean drinking no water will guarantee weight loss... and a dirt nap so DRINK YOUR WATER! In all seriousness water is pretty much the most important part of aftercare for post-op patients in my opinion. -
Woohooo! That’s amazing!

FISHING FOR COMPLIMENTS
Kay07 replied to GreenTealael's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is definitely a difference! You have a great figure with more definition now. You look fantastic 😊 -
35oz?!?!? Walking 5 miles on only 35oz of fluids is dangerous. Being immobile and only drinking 35oz is dangerous. If you doubled your water intake I believe you would feel a HUGE difference. I know if I slack on water, I immediately stall or gain. When I’m super super hydrated the weight drops off and I feel amazing. I also feel a lot less head hunger.

You are looking quite handsome! Hope you are feeling as great as you look!

Not feeling full - can eat a “normal” size portion
Kay07 replied to Pink nova's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am also of the belief to continue measuring. I want to build a habit and routine of getting what I NEED and not eating more than that. Several years from now I will also hopefully still keeping an eye on volume intake. I want to be a success statistic 😊 -
Thank you all so so much! Yes I sometimes catch my reflection and think WTF WHO IS THAT! Such an awesome feeling. This surgery really changed my life for the better.

Hi fellow May buddy! You are looking fantastic! I love love love how confident you look. You are rocking those slim fit jeans 😉

I am!!! It's so efffffffffing exciting! Honestly I think I might make 160 a new goal but I am not sure my body will go for it. I am a goal-centric person so if I set it I will try to move heaven and earth to make it happen. I'll make that decision once I hit 175 You aren't too far off either! That is amazing!!! -
Post Surgery Tastebuds Changes: tell me yours
Kay07 replied to GeTnBackuP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmm I don't like steak as much. If I do eat steak it has to be a nice cut of Filet Mignon because I gained "snobby buds" according to my husband haha! Also sweet things make me gag now. I struggle with hot cocoa oddly enough. Used to love the stuff. I also can't drink ANY form of flavored creamer. Milk or half/half in my coffee maybe but any other type is terrible. I also can't add sugar to my coffee. I don't usually but sometimes when someone orders one for me they will grab me a regular (new England speak for coffee with cream and sugar) and it's gag worthy. -

I agree with measuring. I had to learn early on that just because I could did NOT mean I should. Teaching yourself control and learning when to recognize what you need versus what you want will make your success that much easier to achieve! -
The Dreaded Holidays
Kay07 replied to BeanieSprouts's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will be at my in-laws and they are very much everything served swimming in butter. BUT this year they are super in arms about my husband's heart surgery so they have been revamping recipes to be healthy. Hopefully this will translate to wls friendly options. I'll probably prep a few things before thanksgiving (we are there for several days) and stashing it in the fridge just in case. -

LOL at the fishing for compliments. I am so awkward with compliments still. Even from my family! Typical process: "Wow you look amazing!" says random family member/friend/or-even-worse-a-stranger. "Haha yeah... I had turkey for lunch. Guess what I bought new shoes. Oh wow is it going to rain?" sputters Kay inelegantly. And all of this usually comes streaming out like word vomit. My family has caught on to my weirdness and it amuses them to no end.
