  2. Happy 30th Birthday istra!

  3. Hey! I am going to be getting the single incision surgery too, and would love to see your "before" and "after" pictures! What were your b4 stats, when was your surgery and what are your stats now?

    Thanks!

    "single incision" surgery

i had my surgery done at UT Southwestern by Dr. Scott. These are the pics of the incisions.
  5. thanks, i will work on getting some of those! its really 2 incisions still, one really small one for the liver retractor, and one larger one. if i don't post within the next week, please remind me. its going to be a little busy around here...

  6. Hey! I was reading that you got the single incision surgery. That's awesome. Congrats! Would you mind posting pics of your incisions? I'm very curious because it's so new I can't find many "real life" views of it.

    I have ZERO restriction now...

thanks! i asked my doc about this yesterday and he didn't know of any problems with flights, but it didn't seem like it had ever occurred to him. he only put in 2cc's, so we'll see how this goes. so far, so good. although he "tested the system" first by injecting about 10cc's, and that was one of the oddest feelings i've ever had! hopefully i won't have any issues on my trip...

    I have ZERO restriction now...

i just had surgery at the end of january and will be getting my first fill tomorrow. i'm a little worried because two days after that i will be flying (on an airplane, i'm not that talented) to visit my brother. have any of you heard anything/experienced any issues with flying so soon after a fill? i'm also worried about too much restriction and then being out of town, but i also want to start loosing weight! i've been stuck for the last 3 weeks now, its almost like i haven't had the surgery...
  9. i was banded on the 20th by Dr. Scott at UTSW in dallas (he did the "single incision surgery" thats new). i'm still pretty tired, and gassy too, but other than that things are going well. i'm looking forward to eating real food again soon, even if its only "soft foods".
  10. i've heard several people mention it, but i'm not sure how common it is, thus the post. it seems most people have been told its a Protein thing (not eating enough of it), but i've also heard that it can be caused by hormonal changes from quick fat loss.
  11. ooh! ooh! me too!! ) i'm january 19th.
  12. i'm starting to wonder about some (less important) logistics. 1) how long after the surgery did you have to wait to take a shower/bath? 2) how common is hair loss? i'm planning on donating my long hair to locks of love, and i'm trying to decide if i should do that before surgery. i'm sure i'll think of more later, but that's all for now.

  14. i'm glad to hear that things are going well for you! so yours will be at st. paul? mine will be at zale lipshy, i wonder why its in different places (maybe the surgeon)? anyhow, best of luck, and have a great thanksgiving.
