I'm FINALLY off the liquid stage and on to the puree/soft food stage. I could cry because I'm so happy! Never want to experience the liquid stage again...

Hopefully I'll join that phase tomorrow. Not sure if I'll be eating pureed foods..mostly soft foods sound more appealing. Anything is better after a month of liquids!

I was feeling so good about having the VSG until 2 weeks ago when a few coworkers bombarded me with their so called plan of intervention of why nots. Now i have anxiety and nervous and feel like cancelling my surgery in a few days on 5/10. If given the choice all over again would you still make the same choice?
My only regret is that I didn't have the surgery sooner! There will always be those negative people who feel its their right to have a say so in someone else's life! The decision is yours and yours alone. I only told a select few and those few supported me to the point that they joined me in the liquid diet! If your come this far and have a date, don't let anyone deter your decision. Ask yourself if its better to be unhealthy! -
How is everyone else doing? Today was my best day so far. I really got the hang of this (knock on wood). I think I’ll be fine the next 7 days. Only thing I’ve noticed is that I find myself being bored or just with extra time and feeling very present. I guess I used to eat when I was bored and disappear to a diff dimension while doing so because now I’m like huh what did I do before [emoji23]

Sad news incoming.... I cheated day 5 into my liquid prep... I had a couple of bites of salad and steak... no dressings no steak sauce, just enough to get a little taste. I feel horrible I cheated!!! I do feel a lot better in my the liquid diet but I was eating too many popsicles and sugar-free jellos (2 at a time) just to feel ok. I have been religious with my Protein Shakes and I have been eating won-ton Soup minus the win-tons. But, no matter what I eaten or drink I can never feel full....Please help me stay strong!!!
You must remain focused. Yes you cheated... start over and don't cheat again, as you could possibly delay your surgery. During my liquid diet, know if I messed up could delay my surgery kept me focused. You can do it... its all mental! -
Hi my name is Kristina I am from
Boston Massachusetts, I have been reading a lot of stories on here but never posted! Here goes nothing, I am 30 years old and have battled with obesity since I was a young girl (it runs in the family) I don’t have any other health issues besides PCOS! I have a one year old daughter who now since having her I realize how much I can hardly move to keep up with her and get up and down from the floor etc.. I started the weight loss program in February and now have a surgery date for May 30th! Excited is an understatement then comes the nerves. I have seen so many of your success stories on here and I am beyond proud of each and everyone of you. We are all in this together. As I read on and on then got my final surgery date I thought why not put my two sense on this forum and get whatever advice or even cheering on that I need from everyone going through the same thing!! I want to finally be healthier and be able to chase after my one year old and live a longer life for her and myself. Thanks for listening. I will post again soon!

Guys I’m on day 5 and I can’t believe it. Yesterday was good and the day is just starting for me and I feel good too. I’m so glad that wild burning hunger is gone! I’m not expecting the remainder of the days to be like this but I’m enjoying not feeling so blah while it lasts.

I told you it would get better! Hang in there and I'm saving you a seat next to me on the loser's bench! -
I hope to be having my surgery (gastric sleeve) later this month. I’ve been to several support groups and have read a lot on this website. One thing that scares me is that I’ll always feel nauseous especially in the beginning. I hear people talk about foods they can’t tolerate and finding out the hard way. I plan on going back to work 2 weeks after surgery. I have an office job. I’m worried that I’ll need to spend a lot of time in the bathroom feeling sick. Am I being paranoid? What has been your experience?
My surgery was April 25 and I'm returning to work on May 9. So far, I've had no feelings of nausea and the liquids are staying down. I hope to move to soft/pureed foods on Monday. -
Was sleeved on April 25 and had my first movement three days later with no meds.

Congratulations! Take every pound lost as a milestone. Keep up the great work and don't worry about the length of time, but know your future looks brighter [emoji274][emoji295][emoji275]

Im in South Florida... it'll get better soon
-
I'm in Florida, I went in yesterday morning and was out this morning, the nurse was telling me she thinks it's the fastest turn around she's ever seen and I walked more than anyone else she's ever seen too. I'm at home now, just woke up after dozing off on the couch, going to attempt a Protein Shake in a minute.
Where in Florida? -
Push through...you got this! -
Happy to report that everything went well with surgery! I did struggle a little bit in recovery with low blood pressures and they were concerned I might be bleeding internally, but things perked back up after a few hours and IV fluids. Very little pain fortunately. Walking is very helpful. I’ve started my Fluid challenge and am doing really well getting the fluids down. Need to work on breathing into the spirometer; that has been tougher. All in all I’m feeling very good. Hope everyone else who is having surgery now is feeling the same!
Welcome to the loser's bench! -
Hi everyone. I'm scheduled to have surgery May 16. I'm on day 3 of my Pre-Op diet. My doctor has me on 2 high Protein Shakes, 3 to 4 oz of lean Protein and "fill the rest of the plate" with non starchy veggies a day. Everyday I get a little more nervous/excited.

My surgery was April 25 and the only pain I've experienced was gas. If your pain persists, I suggest contacting your surgeon. Are you able to get in your Protein with all that pain?

So it’s 9:00PM (at least here in New York City) and I’m due for my 5th and last Protein Shake since I drink them at 9am 12pm 3pm 6pm and 9pm to perfectly space them apart just long enough to not bite my arm off but when 9pm hit just now I was like blah why even bother drinking the shake, I’m not going to feel any different than I do now and it will just wake up my stomach and it’ll just leave me craving more food. Has anyone done this? Last night I did the same thing.
What I really want is a nice cold beer and some lays chips [emoji28]

My nutritionist said I could have egg salad, chicken salad and tuna salad. I'll live off of that for a week along with prison Protein Shakes. Don't think I'll be eating anything pureed.< br>
