Gas pains after surgery
browneyez42 replied to browneyez42's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This may seem extreme, but when I was in the hospital, I never had gas pains as long as I was in the recliner. So today, I went and bought a reclining sofa! Let's hope this helps!!!! -
I'm six days post op and was, telling someone earlier that I could see how people turn to work within a week of surgery because you do feel great. As for me, I'm taking three weeks off because I want to make sure my body has gotten the proper rest which allows me to heal as much as possible.

Yet another poo question...
browneyez42 replied to EsoKev's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I did my two week, liquid diet, I still had regular "movements". I believe its because of all the protein I was consuming. Im six days post op and back to liquids and still regular. Hope this helps. -

Gas pains after surgery

My doctor wrote a prescription for it and I didn't know the medical name was the same as Gas-X. I'm walking as often as I can. -
Gas pains after surgery
browneyez42 replied to browneyez42's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It looks like we had surgery on the same day, April 25! I've been walking and eating Gas-X but wanted to know how long it lasts. -
Its a great tool. I was posting hours after surgery because I felt to great with all the pre-surgery motivation is received. These forums are an awesome source of information, as well as inspiration. Today is my 5th day post op and each day is better than the one before. Good luck on your journey.

Mine was April 25 and I've not been hungry. Forcing myself to drink protein shakes and today, I added yogurt. I was told after two weeks, I could introduce soft foods...eggs, tuna, etc.

We've all been there. This was one of the hardest decisions of my life and I'm glad I went through with it. I'm only four days post op and having difficulty drinking the v required amounts of liquids, but I know it will get easier. Hang in there, you can do it -
I'm having trouble getting the required amounts of liquids. It takes me almost an entire day to drink one shake. Yesterday was better and I ate soup and took a nice long walk and was able to drink close to two bottles of water.

Surgery was April 25 and I woke up with no problems. Was up walking around within five hours of surgery and went home the next day. You can do it! -

Congratulations. My surgery was April 25 and I'm doing good. Minimal discomfort and just trying my best to get those fluids. I'm only taking pain meds at night, but I think I'm done with them because so far today has been a good one. Out walking and soaking up this Florida sunshine! -
I know its common to have a sore throat after surgery, has anyone used Chloraseptic to relieve the pain?
-
I’m scared - What would you have told yourself one week before surgery?
browneyez42 replied to baribetty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm two days post op. After surgery, I was up walking. I did need pain meds at night and now that I'm home I do have minimal discomfort in my stomach and throat which is to be expected. Staying hydrated is very important. I keep a bottle of water next to my bed. You will do j just fine and never let fear take over. -

I'm one day post op. Came home today feeling pretty good. A little gas pain, but other than that I'm good. Getting some much needed rest. -
Today is the day!
browneyez42 replied to browneyez42's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good morning! I'm going for my x-ray to make sure there are no leaks and then I'll start sipping. Once they determine I can hold liquids, I'm going home. I've had minimal gas pains and slept pretty well...except they wake you every three hours to check your vitals. I pray I continue to feel this good. -
