    Show me your Vitamins

I realized after surgery that my new tummy doesn't like medicinal tastes or textures. But, I found a multi-vitamin you can mix in a water bottle like crystal lite that tastes really good. The lemonade taste just like that and the watermelon taste like watermelon without the aftertaste. It does have a milky look but a great taste. It's Bari Life. They sale it on here and through their own website. I heard about them from my Dr and I asked for a free sample on their website and all I need is 2 of those a day and 1 xtra calcium chew a day. My vitamin d is perfect and my b vitamins.

    Post WLS hysterectomy issues

Just to update, I went to my yearly OB/GYN appt and everything is perfect. He said spotting can happen and since I still have my ovaries and a sliver of my cervix and on top have lost 50 pounds that was probably what caused it. I haven't had any bleeding or spotting since and all labs at my pcp came back normal including urinalysis.

    Do you feel more attractive?

I don't know whether to laugh, like, or hug this because I feel like you just spoke for me. I don't have a procedure. But I know the feeling of NPO until late in the afternoon. And I have a pet turtle and I tell my hubs my body is looking like Bill's (our female turtles name)

    No Pain Medications

The nurse shouldn't have been discussing the other patient. But also by not moving around the gas hurts even worse. I have had numerous surgeries and I'm the first one up and moving/walking as soon as the catheter is out even if they tell me to wait i'll walk around my room. It relieves the soreness and the gas. But, I'm an addict.. I was on pain pill first then heroin in the end. I go in to all my dr's and tell them about my addiction history and I'm clean and sober 7 1/2 years. My doc gave me a morphine pump at first then it was only Tylenol and I have Hep C, so I had to take low doses of anything with acetametaphin in it. The nurse might not have known what that patient discussed with the doctor beforehand. I know when I had my hysterectomy my ob/gyn didn't tell the nurses I said no opiates and even though I told the nurse I was an addict, she was trying to get me to get an opiate by saying "honey, take something stronger, I can get the dr to send up a prescription for it." I told her I was fine a thousand times.

Kettlebells and other ways to tone a bit

It's weird, I crush my right radius and scalphoid about 10 years ago and I can lift weights but putting weight on it, I can feel the bones crunching together. My Dr said resistant bands are good, but weights helps tones better and then she explained it in a very understanding at the time way.
  8. I'm in AA and I can't find any local OA meetings. I've looked online but there's no one that will sponsor or they ask for money. Do you go to a face to face meeting or online?

    Liquid diet struggle

In my pre op liquid diet I was only allowed cottage cheese and yogurt other than the fluids. That sucked. Broth was a blessing because even now, I'm sick of fruity flavored stuff. But I enjoy a meal replacement with my protein shake frozen to about slushy consistency. I know you said you don't like the protein shakes, but have you tried various ones? GNC makes a bunch of different brands and flavors I was allowed pre and post op and if you try it and don't like it, you can take it back in and swap it for another flavor. I was seen plenty at GNC until I found my faves. I have a cappuccino ( I love coffee) that I add black coffee instead of milk or water and slushify it. I didn't like milk based shakes as much as water. The milk changes the texture. After surgery I really didn't like the ones with milk like Premier Protein.

    Livershrink diet

I'm not sure if I missed your initial thread but what are you doing for your "liver shrink diet'"?
  11. Regardless, they are going inside and and making things different.

    Documentation chart notes?

My first doctor documented exactly that but refused to submit it saying that she wasn't my weight loss dr but my primary. My weight loss dr and myself argued saying that was the point. But whatever. My 2nd doctor documented the same thing, but this time my surgeons office had a piece of paper they made 6 copies of that listed my co-morbidities, my current weight, previous weight, blood pressure, and glucose. That was all they submitted to my insurance and they approved it with that.
  13. my dietician has told me that healthy eating is prioritizing protein first. In the beginning, I think it's to get us in a routine what is healthy.

    Do you feel more attractive?

My hubs tells me how great I'm looking, his family does too since they saw me the first time since surgery around Halloween. But, I feel flabby. But it's all about perspective.
  15. There's always a healthier alternative to the unhealthy what everyone else is eating. there's a recipe for a chicken crusted pizza on Bariastic I've tried and it's yummmm. I'm a pizzaholic and we make homemade pizza's constantly around here. But I also have to remember that they aren't the ones that are obese and if they are (like my hubs) he didn't have surgery, I did. Smells really get me too. Especially Doritos. But keep up what you're doing.
  16. I have a friend that had to have a revision because of reflux the same day I had my sleeve. We both can still technically eat all those bad habit foods. I am 6 months post op and yes, it is only a tool. From what I hear from my friend of myself, those foods go either way with either surgery. Some people get sick if they eat bad things and like me and my friend with 2 different surgeries, we can chomp down on all those bad for you foods. I was under the impression that you still remove some of your stomach with bypass they just also re-route things in there. I have had issues with reflux in my past, especially during pregnancies, but so far *knock on wood* I've only had an issue a few times.

    Weight Gain

I actually weigh myself daily. And I have been going up and down for the past month. I do know that I cheat here and there and that is the reason I gain. I can feel it in my fingers because my rings end up being snug instead of really loose. I also have problems having a BM. I usually go between 4-7 days before havin one and near the end of that time, I get puffy feeling. I am 6 months post op

    Personal Rewards

I got my piercing yesterday and I LOVE IT. I was even telling my piercer that I felt I deserved it and that I had lost over 50 pounds. I think my next reward will be some new clothes. I think I'll wait until I reach my goal weight though. It will be nice to wear jeans comfortably again.

    Sooo excited

It'll be here before you know it.
  20. As long as you are staying within your calorie limit, I would assume it would be fine. I love adding the PB2 (mine is Walmart off brand) to my shakes. I now have it mixed with a cappuccino flavored one and it actually tastes like a reece's shake .I put it in the freezer to get slushy and OMG. So delicious. With adding one tablespoon of that plus my protein shake it's 145 calories and 27g protein with 4 carbs. That is if you even like peanut butter.

    This is getting old.

Not one of my favs. It's in the bottom. I love true horror movies though. My whole fam does. We have our whole bedroom in horror movie posters. I feel stuck at the weight I'm at, but it's my own fault. I need to stand on the scale staring at what I'm at and get mad and get some act right going.

    Prepping FINALLY!

How exciting. You'll be becoming a new person on my b-day.

    Thank you

I always tell my boys that this is a beautiful world and that too many people focus on the bad and that's why you hear about it. Yes, there is suffering and evil. But, there is an amazing amount of goodness out there.

    Low libido HELP!

I had a hysterectomy last year, but kept my ovaries since they were producing the right amount of hormones. I dont' know if you still have yours, but as mentioned I would get my hormone level checked. I know Gabapentin can be used for psych meds too and I personally know those can cause libido to drop. I don't know the side effects of the Gabapentin but with weight loss your system can absorb medicines different. My sex drive goes up and down, but my Dr's are messing with my psych meds. After I take them a while, it goes back up. And since we are talking intimate here, I have had issues with getting wet as well. I feel excited and if I touch myself or when my hubby touches me, it shocks me to know I don't have the wetness I thought I would. I am scheduled to see my ob/gyn on the 1st for my yearly, so now we've been discussing this, I will mention it to him
  25. Oh, and it takes psych meds a little longer to get in your system and benefit. Has your dr added all of your meds at once or 1 at a time? Mine adds one at a time to see if it is working and what side effects I'll have.
