And if anyone wants to know mine are High Weight 355, --current weight323 and stuck --surgical date: in the hands of the Bariatric Gods and my surgeon. I'm stuck at my "fat set point" until liquid diet days and surgery. But I'm still in it to win it! Been trying to track on My Fitness Pal, averaging 900-1000 calories so until I up my exercise level, walk more since I don't have a gym membership I'm stuck somewhere on an Andean desert plateau[emoji88] or something similar. I'm not giving up emotionally, still want to keep moving ahead[emoji590][emoji106] but my body says [emoji107]"Meh". And there I be, a perpetually Pre-Op![emoji30] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

First consultation appointment
frust8 replied to ChynaDollMUA's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take a deep breath before you go in. Still okay? That's good! Be positive, be up beat and cheerful, be yourself. They may ask why do you want bariatric surgery? Everybody has their reasons, for me and my own because I am 72 an untraditional age. Arthritis since 25, 2 knee replacements, GERD another name for reoccurant heartburn, multiple diet attempts, nothing kept it off even if I lost a little, sleep apnea(many overweight people do) but my bottom line was I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired and the thought of surgery scares me less than the thought of continuing as I am. The surgeon probably, will ask questions like Do you snack a lot? They may explain the pluses and minuses of each type of most surgeries, most popular are the vertical sleeve gastrectomy, RnY bypass, some do ESG which is done endoscopical with a tube down into your stomach then interior stitching to fold your stomach and reduce its size. A few will install an OberA balloon into your stomach, that they only leave that in 6 months, still costs nearly as much as the other surgeries and I would think of limited benefits. A very few surgeon's do Duodenal Switch, a more radical surgery, or Single Anastomosis bypass or some others I'm not as familiar with. Most surgeries are done laprascopicaly, with 5- 7 small slits in your tummy which is a lot easier on you than the Open variety once done. You'll heal quicker and have less pain with the small slit method. Your surgeon will probably make his or her suggestion on what they feel would be the best one. It is your choice and your body but do listen to their professional opinion, they have been in the business and truly can give a valuable opinion. Either they or your insurance may have multiple consultations for several different things, do them for they are of benefit to you and ensure you are in the best emotional and physical shape before surgery. And good luck, it is at once scary and thrilling to go through the different stages, but you will make it there and the rewards will be many![emoji14][emoji304][emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Seems like almost every premenopausal chick on here does that. Suspect it could be blood thinners, the shock of major surgery or hormones being released from your fat stores. One skosh older lady said it's like puberty, pregnancy and menopause rolled together, but you don't get a cute baby out of the deal. And prepare yourself for some mood swings because of those durn hormones releasing back out, most seem to get cranky and easily offended, but it will pass. Bad things usually do, your ride might her bumpy but the weight loss and clothing sizes, getting smaller, the renewed energy makes it all worth while. Smile, every stage you go through leads to victory[emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

And if you need another friend J Mkay, I'm almost always in reach of my smartphone. I know what it's like to be a BIG girl,at 1 year I Was 35 inches tall 36lbs and the last time I could pass for being normal sized or at least proportioned right I was 5ft7in and 110 lbs, sounds okay? Then consider the fact,i was just 11 years old. And that was 61 years ago, honey I feel like I wrote the book on "fluffy".Now I'm waiting for,my own bariatric surgery, the unhappy bearer of a 47 BMI. Currently I stand at 5ft8in, shrunk some down since menopause, in my prime I was 3 in taller. As your vertebra slide down together you get a backache and sciatica. There's pain# 1, I have had 2 knee replacements so pain#2 and 3, I have had degenerative arthritis since 25, major pain #5. swelling in both ankles and calves, and worst of all I am tired of dragging my big fat body around, all 323 lbs of me. I have a chance with weight loss surgery that no diet plan could give me. And I am reaching over the edge of the Life Merry go Round and reaching for the gold ring before it's too late. In all probability I will have RnY bypass surgery in May 2018. And I can hardly wait for that day to come. I jokingly call myself the Bariatric Godmother because I'm just about the oldest active on here. A good sense of humor, you have to laugh to keep from crying, a lot of life experiences under my belt, buried a son and husband 4 1/2 years apart, so a few bumps bruises and scars along the way but I'm still alive and planning to stay that way. If you need any answers or feel lonely and friendless, I'm here. If I don't have an answer someone on Bariatric Pal will. In the meantime, Welcome and we hope you'll visit us here for a good long time.[emoji14] PS I'm redheaded, spunky and stubborn and intend to spend my remaining days slimmer, trimmer and fitter, and if I can do it-you can too. Neither one of us will accept failure, you hear?[emoji106] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Does anyone else have trouble getting light-headed and dizzy when they shower? I figure maybe my skin blood vessels dilate and that lowers my blood pressure but it's a pain holding to something with one hand and soaping up with the other. Almost hate getting clean there! Can I still qualify for VSG with mild GERD?
frust8 replied to Jumanna's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No durn it! I come with quite a story or emotional baggage, depending on how you take it. I have been through prerequirements not once but twice. After all that the 3 surgeons in that bariatric practice took a little vote and decided not to do my surgery. So I took my little hand and waved Bye Bye after being in their programs since August 2015. Now I am setting forth with attempt#3. I have an appointment with OSU staff psychologist Dr Kramer on April 25th. Depending on his approval, and who would turn down a sweet lady like myself, besides those 3 sons of Seabiscuit the Horse I was once affiliated with? When I get my approval it depends on whether I'll have any more hoops to jump through, my transcript does transfer but if they accept it all, May? Youve heard of the Million Man March? Turn on the 6 o'clock news, witness the 1 fat redhead picketing[emoji188] outside the front door of the OSU-Wexner Medical Center . I will be p*****d and vocal![emoji14][emoji779] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
