    Sticks and Stones...

I think I would be hurt if somebody wrote on a medical report I had a body part "abnormal" . Just because something isn't average it doesn't necessarily connote abnormal, if it's original equipment it's normal for me. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I have a small patch on my lower arms, I worried at my age it could be skin cancer, my PCP just let out a small giggle and said it's just Mr P showing up again. I said I may just kill you Junior, he's like 45 or 46. I really do like the guy, I'm just enough older I want to rein him in. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  5. I too have psoriasis, haven't had my surgery yet.You bring up a good point, since it is an auto-immune disease it easily could improve. I even have, psoriasis in my nailbeds, makes them slightly misshapen and I have putting if you run your fingers over the nail surface. I have a good friend who has it much worse than either of us, his arms usually look like alligator skin. He has creams to help, with it but seldom used them. Says it's too much of a bother. Did you know we share this disease with Cyndi Lauper, the singer? Truth! ,,,,,,,,,,,,i haven't had my surgery yet, if I do I'll be sure to let you know if I do. In the meantime welcome to Bariatric Pal if nobody ever bothered welcoming you. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Newbie here

Welcome @CLee31. Always happy to meet a new friend. I'm the self appointed Welcome Woman here. I'm 72, live 14 miles from Ohio's Geographic Center, widowed with 2 living children. I am planning on a RnY bypass, my WLS journey has been a bumpy, one, one I would wish,on my worst enemy, better him than me. Last time I weighed myself, which I avoid doing, I was 323lbs,i stand 5ft8in strawberry blonde hair, hazel green eyes & have a BMI of 47+. Nice weight for a redwood tree, more than a mite heavy for a human being. I try to keep a happy cheerful attitude. I have had arthritis since I was 25, chronically ache but I keep going on. 2 knee replacements so far, other things close to replacement but hope my surgery will slow down the progression. Although I am still technically a pre surg I know a lot about weight loss etc, many people on here have helped me and I do try to pay it forward to the best of my ability. So if you need any questions answered or just want a sympathetic ear, I'm here. No shame in my game, I talk about most anything. So welcome again,we hope you hang around a while! Just took pre-op photos

My son took mine recently. That's the good part of it, the bad part, I was slumped in the recliner, sound asleep and didn't have,my dentures in. So,although I could pass for 45-50, in this one I look every one of my years and more. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  10. Glad to see the Old ark's a moverin still. Keep progressing I hope to take each of your weights over as you vacate them. I might be 3'-6 months later, but if you can do it by golly I can too. My high weight was pretty similar to yours so you might be a good example to follow. God Bless. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Mrs Gamgee. you are sent by our God to me. You love me as I am, a flawed being straining towards Heaven. I will make it there someday and I pray I'll finish my Weight Loss Journey, here on earth before that. Now that I've read your kind words I think I'll walk outside in the Sunlight. I think while I was catering my own PLOM I should have remembered to walk in the Sonlight, because that's where I ought to be! I'm going to write off this meditation you shared with me in my journal, it's something to take to heart.[emoji307] Bless you for being such a true friend! Any other April 2018 Sleevers?

A couple in Florida did the same thing earlier this month. I think it is such a cool thing to do together. Warning: your guy may lose faster than you. It goes way back in evolution to the fact women could be incubating a new generation so we are set up Not to deplete our fat stores so quickly just in case. At my age (72) it seems a moot point but that's how we are engineered. But you will both lose, have increased lifetimes together. feel fitter, healthier and of course thinner. I pray God's richest blessings on both your journeys. Update us all after your Date With Destiny, okay? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Violent moods swing?

In the meantime think happy thoughts, remember how happy you were when your baby was born , how proud you are to be a daddy, how much you love your little guy, now think about taking him to the seashore, how much fun you're going to have teaching him to throw a ball, go fish maybe someday work on cars or motorcycles together? Now because of your surgery and the ensuing weight loss you'll be able to run and play with him. He could grow up to be a Doug Flutie or a Tom Brady, you'll be able to live long enough to teach him so much. Think how much you love your wife, how happy you are to share a life together. As soon as the weather gets better start taking walks outside, look around at nature and look for something to enjoy and be happy about there. My tulips are starting b to come up, pretty soon I'll have pretty flowers. If you live in the city admire the straightness of the streets, the buildings ,well a builder had to plan that all out. It may sound corny but try to take pleasure in the small things. You are going to make it through this and you'll come out all right. There is no gain without a little pain. Now take a deep breath and give your little guy a smile for me. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I'm going to have a bypass, but I want you to have what is best for you. A lot of times if you're young they steer you towards sleeve. You will lose a little faster with bypass but they are both good surgeries. I would listen good to,my surgeon's advice, he knows you better than I do. I am having because I have GERD, bypass fixes that, I have had athritis since 25, had 2 knee replacements, other joints are very sore and I may still need more replsced, the longer I carry my weight the worse they will get, I have a BMI of 47, I am still going through surgery at 72, I am so tired of being sick and tired, I do not want to live, like this a moment longer than necessary. I also have sleep apnea, although it runs in my family there is still a chance I can get off my c pap. We all are a little fearful we won't be able to lose and Keep it off, you will be given a tool whichever you choose that will help you but you have to committ yourself now and in the future to follow a diet of smaller portions. I call it Going through THICK until you're THIN. I am going to do it and I believe you can too. I just this morning read the, posting of a lady who was a size 28 which is even bigger than I am, she is now a 8-10, if she could do it don't you think you and I have a chance? Don't blow it, we can do it together. (hugs) Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Reading your story melsabells I feel I could be a 72 year old version of you. I suffered similar things, I even had similar scars. You and I will be victorious over our past struggles, we are strong and we are survivors, aren't we? We haven't had it easy but we have earned the right to have it good. (hugs and a kiss on the cheek). Let's agree to go forward bravely, I haven't had my surgery yet so you will beat me there, but I firmly believe for you this is a good thing. And in a month or 2 when it's my turn you can help me be brave right before. No matter how hard you plan and prepare it's still a little scary. But we can be here for each other and we will make it through. If you need a friend, and let's face it, we all do, I'm here in your corner! God Bless Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    April Surgery!

@Tuckersmom went to seminar for new program, filled out paperwork, release of information to get records from the previous dirty dog program, put in request to be re evaluated by their psychologist at Medical Center and then I guess I sit here, smile sweetly and WAIT. I hope Medicare my primary continues to pick up this new stage of my journey, scared they won't cause they paid out to the d.d. program, if I have to go to secondary Medicaid I'll have to complete 3 more months of nutrition consult. I started out seeking this August 2015, even prisoners get credit for time served. I want to join you guys in April, wish it could be sooner. Next step is the psych, then they schedule a consult meeting with me to go over my plan tailored to little me. Then if things fell into place, and I pray God they do, and I don't have to serve another 3 months, I meet with the surgeon and it's my surgical date with destiny. Oooee I want it SO BAD![emoji7][emoji7][emoji7] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. @mylighthouse you are just the beacon I need to see. I'm at a ,loose 26 just about,to go to a 24, About ready to wonder if I'll lose any more while I wait for the Baiatric God's to smile and grant me another audience. I've had a rough road to surgery land, hot thrown into a pothole last month, but maybe things might get fixed. I hope to be smaller when this nightmare is over, maybe a 15/16? But you give me renewed hope I could get even smaller? Gosh you did it, maybe I can also? Thanks for posting today. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
