February 2018 Success Stories
frust8 replied to kakatlady612's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could it be Time Of Month, could you have drank a little more than usual and your body is a little soggy? Don't panic, ever body fluctuates in weight, and strange as it sounds b your body may be getting ready to discharge dome, more weight kinda like when you take a deep breath before starting something. Relax and don't sweat the small stuff this may be,only a nlop or bump on your road. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Have you got, your little bag all packed? Drink plenty of fluids, hydration,is always good plus you'll be so busy tinkling you won't,be sitting around worrying. This is one of the few times in life a good, manicure doesn't make you feel better. How about going and getting your hair done? Might make you feel pampered. I love to go to the be a duty shop and have them wash my hair. Makes me feel like Cleopatra being papered like that. I'm a little strange cause I'd ask to have my hair cut that way if I got all hot and sweaty with my operation it would be one less thingvyo be concerned about. Sit down and relax today you'll probably, not sleep well tonight, just pamper yourself today, you are worth it. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Can u ok afford a cab BMI or other transportation? I know you said you didn't feel like sitting but you, mihht have to man up and do it for your own wellbeing. Sepsis in the blood is no fun, besides as sick as you are it could put at the head of the line, triage-wise. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Better pray your liver is nice and lean, surgeries have been canceled because it was too fat to be moved out of the way. You don't want to wake up the same way you went in. That would mean all your preparations were worth nothing. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

If you have your insurance approval you get your surgery date, some practices will still require you to attend a pre surgery and a post surgery seminar before you're done. Best wishes in advance. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

How long after birth before DR. Will perform WLS?
frust8 replied to TGTCEGCC's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
You don't have a lactose so much as a lactalbumin one. That's the main Protein in human milk. The main one in cow's milk is casein. To answer your other one I couldn't see them refusing you after a couple months if your health is good enough. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

I see pictures of bikinis all the time, do I want one? Nope I have the commitment and good sense to know it's just not for me. Why put on something (assuming I was the right size) that would make me cold and ride up into my backside? And I feel that way about fast food. And curiously since I'm still pre surg I have no desire for breads and sweets, there are only a few I can eat as I'm allergic to chocolate. Hershey has recently come out with a white coated Reese cup, my son had gotten each of us one. I took one teensy bite, it was so super sweet and sickening I gave the rest to my son. Maybe it's Hector and the gastritis, but it will prevent the risk of dumping in the future. And the last bread product I ate sat in my stomach like a frozen hockey puck. If I can give them up now I feel I will be more compliant later. You know what I do crave? Vegetables, yeah the thought of steamed broccoli sounds yummy or a baked sweet potato. No butter, it's perfect just the way it is. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Had my endoscopy today!
frust8 replied to insta_adventurer's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Let me tell, you about Endoscopy and Queen frust8. I had an endoscopy performed by a general surgeon. When I was going to need one in December 2017, I asked if my gastroenterologist would perform it. Last thing I remembered laying on my left side in the endoscopy suite. My doctor came in wearing shrubs,he is Pakistani and looked very handsome in his blue shrubs. I said Hi Dr Mujaba, the next thing I knew I was waking up in the recovery area. I had went to sleep effortlessly, woke up with no headache and no sore throat, 2 things the general surgeon had left me withj in addition to a slightly achy tummy. None of that with Dr M and it turned out he had done more biopsies , took, more pictures in color( which I got copies of) and did it all in less time. If I ever have another endoscopy,i hope its him that does it. Confirmed the start of damage from GERD,gastritis and the presence of Hector my little baby ulcer. Hector was the result of too many NSAIDS over the years. And no sign of h pylori in there. This confirmed that it is good I'm planning a RnY instead of a sleeve. And I had full anesthesia not just sedation but I felt really fine afterwards. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
He'll probably ask why you want the surgery? What are your expectations from it, how committed are you to following his instructions and are you willing to follow a,more restricted diet the rest of your life? Do you understand your body will be permanently changed? Are you doing this for yourself or to please someone else? ,,,,,,,,. You will probably, want to know how long his average patient stays in the hospital . Average is 1-2 days but I've heard on here anywhere from doing it as an b outpatient that was d omeone in Texas to 3 days. Will you have a weight restriction after surgery and for how long? When can you go up and down stairs? When can you drive again? Do you require a liquid diet before surgery? Most seem to but I've known who don't. Can I have a,loved one with me? Will I have a private or semi private room at your hospital? Will I see you again prior to surgery? I have known of people who saw surgeon, once and not again until the morning of surgery. One lady said it had been so long she barely recognized him! Those are what I can think of but I'm sure others may think of so n ething else. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

When you talk to your doctor and he prescibes something see if you have a drug store that makes deliveries. We have 1 in my town and they were of great value when I had my knee replacement. In the meantime drink as much Fluid as you can. Yeah you probably feel like, you are there all the time, but as a decorated veteran of the Urinary Tract Wars the more dilute you can make your urine the better you are going to feel and the sooner this will be over. It is a fairly well- known fact that catheterization, especially an in-dwelling, even for a few days will provoke an UTI. That is why medical staff try to keep the procedures as sterile as possible. Plus the catheter can irritate your urethra, that could cause the blood you've seen. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
