Attn: Naturally Heavy Bottom People
frust8 replied to DB25rny's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I miss Sir Mix-a-lot, he appreciated chunky tushie. I used to figure I could always get a job as ballast on a Lake Erie steamer. One of my lesser goals on life? To lose enough weight I'm not always the rear seat in a canoe. Why? Because that's where the heaviest person has to sit. I. could get an Native American name like "Pretty Fawn" instead of "2 Rocks in Rump" or a legit N..A. Name -"Tay Bodal" it's Kiowa Indian from Oklahoma. Any Kiowa out there? Goody, I'm safe, it translates as meat Bearing Area of Animal, literal translation Buffalo ****, sadly appropriate isn't it for someone of my pulcritude? Oh I plan to dimish in size and grow in self confidence. And shine, I'll shine brighter than the Aurora Borealis, just watch and see! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
AshMarie are you getting excited? It is wonderful you are now so close. Are you busy making plans, getting everything in order before you go to the hospital? You probably have told us but I forget where you are having your surgery at. Have you watered your plants? All the bad food out of the pantry? Fed the cat, dog,or goldfish? Do you have to change your diet right before surgery? Can you tell I'm excited for you? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Surgery date 4/09... cold feet!!
frust8 replied to trinjen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm now 72, you do not want to live as long as me in an obese body. Yes I will look and feel better than now but it will not restore,my arthritic and broke down joints. I have had 2 knee replacements, although they are good to have and less painful, they only operate at 85% the efficency of natural ones. Hopefully I will be less short of breath but it is not a total certainty I will not. I will walk smoother and easier but I can never run much less jog again and basketball ( which I was very good at in the past) nope not with these knees. So why have surgery,at this point now? I felt my body grow slower and more painful, every day. I can't walk more than a block without having to stop and catch my breath. I spend more time sitting or lying down than I do standing. My life day by day has become total crap, nothing to get out of bed for. And a lot of my friends are dying, I find I do,not want to join them yet. I do not know how many years i have left, truly none of us do. But I want to live, thinner, healthier and with a modicum of fitness. There are still places I have not seen, things I have not had a chance do , I want an opportunity to do them. This is the day and time to do them And I want my chance now. Would they have put OP's head in some sort of head/neck clamp to keep it rolling from side to side? I hope they use a pillow or even sand bags on each side of my head. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

You are not the first person I have heard of having that, some surgeons even boast that's a better way to do that. Makes my navel kinda itch thinking about it! How about it folks? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

What are the pitfalls that you've encountered on this journey?
frust8 replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
One of my worries as a pre surg? Will i be able as a denture wearer to chew each bite 20-30 times? I have naturally been a bolter and swallower of food in the past. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Is the aftertaste any worse than too strong tea? I think there are tannins there also. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Still going good Francess? I've heard every day past surgery you'll feel stronger and better, can hardly wait to experience myself. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Beautiful meeting you Miss Becca. Hope you'll hang around with us for a long long time. I hope I'm finally on a faster track than you for several, reasons, my path to surgery has been bumpy and tortured but I will make it there. How soon? Could be May, June or even July, but by then my last nerve will have snapped. Sprong!! Yeah. I have a strange sense of humor, comes from joking when I could be crying. And late at night I do weep in frustration. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

No but it has beautiful battle ribbons from each and every one of your beautiful babes. There are women with smooth tummies that wish they could be mommies. Wear your battle ribbons with pride --for they are the signs of a war you won!
