I woke upthis morning on the verge of a panic attack. Yeah The Little Engine That Could feels like she's falling off her track. I reached out to another Bariatric program, went to their seminar, turned in my paperwork including a release of information form, signed up to be seen by their staff psychologist, but I don't know if I can stand waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop. What if these people don't like me either? Can I emotionally stand another rejection? Help me to stay this course, to patiently wait, today this ole cowgirl's got herself in a blue funk. Help me see light,in this situation.[emoji8][emoji8] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Your excellent advice came on a day when I was on a low self confidence day. It is exactly what I need to hear. Thank you for also sharing about your son, I also am NeuroDiverse, something denied existence in my childhood, a female Aspie. Just another of the facets that make me, me! Sometimes I interpret too literally, subtle can escape me. And after being told I was inherently flawed most of my existence, it is difficult to believe I can be loved and accepted as I am. Difficult but no longer impossible! I will go back and read your kind words frequently and treasure them. I have a psychological 2 hour appointment April 25th in Columbus. I am apprehensive because of what I have alluded to but I must have faith I am enough sufficent to satisfy them. My road to surgery has been torturously bumpy but I shall not give up, not where I can see the goal ahead. And I remain with faith in *ME* when all else fails. This may be a dumb question but what. temprature should you drink your shakes at? Should theynbe room temperature, chilled in the refrigerator, over ice or even half-frozen? . Should they be mixed with unsweetened yogurt or flavorings added? Please veterans give me your input or are clear fruit tasting Protein liquids better? Scared thinking of canceling surgery
frust8 replied to Sarahrosesb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So Sarah have you been given a new date for surgery or are you still in limbo? And are you feeling pretty well, all things considered? Please, let us know how things are going with you.[emoji275] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Did you ever think maybe they plan for us to jump through these hoops to,prove we are truly commuted? The weakwilled will say Well **** them I'm not going to do this. Then they either give up for awhile or they fly to Mexico to get it done sooner. I did, almost all the same as your list, I had a pulmonary instead of barium swallow, an extra EKG and a sleep evaluation. None of these were because of my advanced age, just required by surgeon or insurance. Some places insist on a life style coach or personal trainer, mine didn't.[emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Does anyone else remember putting a book on top your head to practice walking more smoothly? I almost never could keep that thing from falling. One of my aunt's kept saying Stand up straight, you'll never get a man that way. I wasn't too worried, I could just bean him with the fool book. Besides I had scoliosis, lordosis and a big rump, ain't no way my spine was going to,look straight. But I tried my best to sit straightly in a chair etc. I wonder as I lose weight will be center of balance get all skewed? After I have worked so hard I don't want to topple over! Oh the new things I 'll have,to worry about. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

What did you do with your old clothing? AND clothing goals?
frust8 replied to melsabells's topic in The Gals' Room
Wally World had tops marked down to $1 some of them actually pretty. So I bought one in the size I'd like to be to hang on the outside of my closet door over the mirror. That mirror is demon-possessed--'' it always makes me look ugly. So it is going to suffer punishment, it won't be able to sneer at me anymore. Ok I confess,i did buy a couple in my current size but the mirror, won't be able to see me because I covered him up.[emoji28] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

Where on you did you first notice weight lose
frust8 replied to allwet's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Then my rump, thighs and ankles will be last. I was hoping to look like a Q Tip, instead I'll,look like a pyramid. Any hope men might book a safari or something to come visit me on the Egyptian plain? Come visit King Tut and frust8's ****, it even rhymes.[emoji41] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
I am not familiar with Kentucky's Medicaid but most I've heard of have a 6 month. That said I just learned recently, were I had to fall back on Ohio, Medicaid instead of my primary Medicare it would be 3 months. My son is on Caresource. Were he seeking bariatric surgery which at this point he's not, they mandate a 9 month track, a different period of time yet.[emoji25] And we're we in Canada or the UK, 2 places with universal health care, the times usually, are a lot longer. That's why many Canadians out of frustration, go to Mexico and the UK goes to Europe because its faster.[emoji7] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Psychological exam for 2 hours April 25th at Martha Morehouse Pavilion at O.S.U., maybe the wheels are turning towards an conclusion. I hope I can convince them I am.worthy, cognizant of the risks, willing to effect a lifelong dietary change and totally committed to receive this serious a surgery. And I also have to convince them I'm not too old, for someone of my age I am pretty healthy. Bottom line do all this without sounding too nutty. Can I do this? Yes I can! (with apologies to Bob The Builder).[emoji14][emoji14][emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

What are the pitfalls that you've encountered on this journey?
frust8 replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have another snare in my journey. I have sleep apnea, yeah I know a lot of us do. When I sleep with my C Pap recently it aggravates my sinuses. Is it better to be able to breathe effectively all night if I have to blow my nose furiously when I wake up in the morning?[emoji275] I've been on 2 different antibiotics recently. I had planned to turn into a fast running antelope[emoji237] but I'm currently the Snuffleupagus[emoji208] instead. Sniffle snuffle sneeze! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Anyone here about 4 years post op Sleeve?
frust8 replied to justlee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Moderately severe GERD, I am now on Dexilant, luckily I have a copay of $3,60 and my insurance (Silver Scripts)[emoji70] picks up the rest of the $360,00 monthly. And that's at WalMart, regular pharmacy in my town, closer to $400,00, [emoji27] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

I plan to walk more when the Snow Monster goes into hibernation.[emoji317][emoji300]Try to put out a vegetable garden so I can grow my,own. I have paw paw seed to plant when the soil warms up enough. FYI the paw paw[emoji268] is Ohio's designated state fruit since I think the 90s? And I think the Ohio General Assembly, made the Tomato our State Vegetable ,because of firm lobbying by the growers in Ohio's NW section. I know these things because I'm a little bit trivia nut. Oh and I also plan to resume bike riding, [emoji41]maybe I'll get my girlish calves back.[emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

How optimistic am I being planning this 2 weeks post op?
frust8 replied to Flabbegone's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would still get up and walk even if it's in a train car. Stasis is not your friend at that time. And don't forget your fluids! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

Well --a bright thought is: you may not have to use Uber or Lyft to get to the hospital, the wind might just blow you there!! Hasn't this been a crazy late winter on the East Coast? Might blow the Cherry Blossoms right off the trees and I had been hoping Spring would finally come, and come in softly Good luck to you, Purple Sleeve..[emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

You still have more than 1/2 of what you were supposed do. You can't necessarily get those back but be super vigilant these last few days, hopefully,it will still make a difference. Take in plenty of fluids also, a lot of people go into surgeries dehydrated, not just this kind. And remember you'll probably be NPO from midnight on so fluff up on fluids before that time. Also relax and think calm peaceful thoughts on these remaining days, stress is rough on you. And remember your Bari--friends[emoji307] you! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Would it be better to think of foods going on a little holiday instead of total farewell? Then we would not be so tempted to cram everything down frantically? Just pondering this. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
