Well at least you won't have to sit there dreading things or worrying the surgeon is going to,call things off. You'll March in , change into a gown, maybe tinkle, get your IV started, climb on the gurney and you, will be soon off to slumberland, when you wake up you'll be stiff, sore, feel like you've done too many situps. If it were me I'd think Freddy Kruger took a chain saw to me, but then I have a vivid imagination. Your mouth will be dry but sipping walking peeing will start up. It will be difficult to understand how you can go,so much when you feel so dry. But each walk will go smoother than the one before, and you'll start living your new life. And I'll he here a little jealous because your surgery is finished and I haven't had mine yet. But my day will come, and you'll be the seasoned veteran urging me on, you'll say Come on frust8 you can do this. And guess what, you will be right, I can like you did, right?[emoji14][emoji170][emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

4 Days Post-op....feeling really depressed and lots of anxiety...
frust8 replied to DMF3296's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of my friends said as her fat melted away into the universe and released all the hormones stored there it was like puberty, pregnancy and menopause all wrapped up in a messy prickly ball. She was SO happy when things in her body calmed down and she could get,on with life. Even cried one day when the dog barked at her, thought he didn't love her any more. Probably, was something like Elroy seeing the, mailman walk by. But at the time she refused to be consoled.[emoji69][emoji33] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
New here. Have CHF. High Risk surgery.. Can anyone relate?
frust8 replied to April Dawn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Loma Linda. Muy excelente, to quote our brothers to the South. FYI. L.L. started out as a 7th Adventist hospital, Ohio headquarters of that denomination are in Mount Vernon, where I live. Many many Adventist friends. And I've always heard, only good things about Loma Linda. Yes you definitely are in good hands. My legs are really painful today, finally, gave in and took a Norco, I have most of my bottle from my left knee replacement February 7 2017 so you see I don't do any drugs. Have a few family members who,are close to addiction, not me!!.! I do not care for the loss of control those drugs give me! So I take the least amount and as infrequently I can and not imperil my health. I think if it is approved and I see no reason it wouldn't be, there will be so much less stress on your [emoji173]. Think how much harder it has to work pushing blood through those fat layers. It would say thank you if it could. Your Dr Scharf sounds a treasure, when it is time for surgery I'm sure he will locate the best most compentant anesthesiologist in the Inland Empire, if not the best in the whole state of California. FYI I had an aunt and uncle who relocated to Kingsburg and several of their sons and families live in Fresno. Aunt Elsie used to ship us raisins she dried herself. We are not planning the easiest of journeys but it will be SO WORTH it. I have a little latent fear, wouldn't be human if I didn't, but the rewards outweigh the detriment so much, and I know it's the right time for me to do this, I'm confident, committed and I will be a success. And the fact,i have a buddy going through the same steps at the same time, you are the maraschino cherry on top of my Life Sundae. Stay calm and cool, we CAN DO this babe![emoji13][emoji779][emoji779][emoji779][emoji12][emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Isn't that odd? I had one in 2015 and had to have another December 2017. Guess it just depends on the surgeon.[emoji21] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Yeah Apple but you turned out to be a fine example of Apple-hood, they polished you up instead of turning you into cider.[emoji254][emoji12][emoji254] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

I have never heard of it. That's the area they are going to work in, it would behoove them to make sure everything is clean and healthy in there before they consider surgery. Maybe they will do it with your blood labs, chest Xrays etc? Be sure to find out if your surgeon requires it, I have friends going through 4 programs in Ohio, and they all have had to do it.-[emoji12][emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Well I can be a little bit couch potato-ie, today I'm watching HGTV and DIY, with a notebook in hand, making notes of what I'd like in my future dream home. Hey it could happen, even average Joes and Jane's win Powerball! Alas with the small amount,I invest it may never happen. I'll go to the mall and walk around there, promised PCP. I wouldn't March on the ice in the neighborhood, didn't tell him I was staying housebound. I keep looking at seed displays, I've plotted and replotted my future garden in my mind. Dirt warms up enough Tomkitten is going to spade me up a little garden space. Shhh don't tell him,,i want to surprise him with the job. I figure I can grow lettuce, some beans, zuchinni, maybe even tomato plants, things taste so much fresher and sweeter than grocery ones.[emoji13][emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Over eating before surgery
frust8 replied to beccaconaty87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You do a lot of walking during the week, most nurses do. On the weekends go for walks outside in the fresh air. Look for something new or that has changed since your last walk there. If you think your neighbors won't think you're going bonkers every little bit, stop, stretch your arms out wide and hug the world. You are outside, feeling healthier, certainly more than most of your, patients, you're free, a wonderful person, exalt in joy at life. Your surgery will make you new and improved, now you better can share yourself with others[emoji13][emoji13][emoji13][emoji13][emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Probably so but it's a good idea for later stages. Someday she'll be back eating her happy 1/4-1/2 cup portions. And in the meantime she's got some healing to do.[emoji21] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm thinking about making zuchinni lasagna. Layer slices with low fat cottage cheese, pour lower calorie marinara sauce over the top in my 9x11 Pyrex casserole. Trying to think of it as a casserole instead of its previous incaration as a flat cake pan Put it in the over at 350 and when it's done yum yum. You could sprinkle mozzarella over the top,the better for you low fat type.[emoji46][emoji44][emoji44] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Frito Lay and others make something called Puffcorn, absolutely no hulls. But those are empty snack calories, give your brand spanking sleeve or pouch something lower calories and healthy instead. Besides the oils etc alway gave me bouncing bad indigestion. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

frust8 replied to Sunshineprincess's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You are,a good person, a worthy person and, although it won't be easy the end result will be worth it. Yes have the surgery now while you are still so youngm There are days you don't feel young? Guess what-- I am easily twice your age and we could share a surgery month. I was 72 last December 26rh but I am still marching towards my Day of Destiny when I will receive my RnY. It will take place at OSU- Wexner Medical Center in Columbus Ohio, I wish it b would be tomorrow. There are many things I want to do yet, my weight made hard or impossible to do. I am sick abdvtired of being sick and tired. So I am making a change and I'm glad to see we will he sharing this journey together. We will have to lose our weight longer but I am game to,the to find the fit and healthy ME buried deep inside. You will do great and I will be leading the cheers as you make your goals, and I'll turn to the others and I knew her back when she first started! I will be so proud and happy for YOU, I believe you have the stubbornness to see it to the finish. And remember if you ever get blue, and chances are, you will just come on line, we will be here for you, we so want. to help you on your journey. frust8 replied to LyricSoul's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nestle makes a Pure Life non sparkling line that is very good. Comes in mixed berry, lemon, Mandarin orange, and my favorite Acai,Grape. No calories and it even tastes good warm at room temperature. Give it a try! Runs about $1,50 for a 6-pack at Wal-Mart. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

Any April surgery buddies
frust8 replied to Relle2190's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You wouldn't be normal if you didn't have a few jitters. You're undertaking quite a big step in your life. Dr Weiner likens it to getting married or deciding to have a baby, a major life decision. And you may have weird dreams, I had one where my surgeon sneezed and made my bypass pouch the wrong direction. The night before my youngest son was born I was dreaming about iliac arteries. No I didn't have a c-section, if I had planned one the dream might have made sense. As it was it made nothing logical to me.And my most current before my WLS that I'll be wheeled into the designated area and 1 my surgeon was in a car crash 2 my surgeon has a Migraine Headache 3. my surgeon decided to go to his son's high school graduation instead 4 my surgeon called to say he's no longer in the mood and with each of these scenarios: bottom line- No Surgery for me.None of your worries can be as silly as these. Now stop and think how far down the road to surgery you've already come. Now you trust your surgeon, you should trust the nurses you meet at the hospital. If they weren't caring compassionate people they wouldn't last very long in that profession. Surgeries these days are oodles safer than they were a short time ago. You don't want anything bad to happen, guess what? They don't want bad things happening and they will make sure they don't. Anesthesia these days is so smooth, easy on you and nothing to dread. I had my tonsils out with ether, I was only 5 years old but I still remember being so sick. They brought me ice cream and it came right back up, barely got warm in my tummy. That's how,it was in the Bad Old Days of the 1950s. So relax, kick back a little and remember all the reasons you sought out this surgery. Everybody has their own , some of mine and yours might be the same. But I bet you they all won't duplicate. I realized for myself a fairly simple one Life without surgery- no real future-eventual death Life with surgery- hope for a better and longer lifespan. It will take commitment, it will take time, and it won't be easy. But I am going to make this chance at life a good one. I'm sorry I rambled on so long but it is something I'm passionate about. You will be a success and I pray I will be also![emoji12] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

You are going to make it through but I agree it is FRUSTRATING to the inth degree. One of the things about us as Americans of a Certain Age we all say"Lord give me patience and give it to me right now so I can enjoy it!" although we have years left ,its a shame we don't get credit for "time served" in life! Maybe lost 2 more pounds, my body is happy at this point but I'm not satisfied.[emoji14] Hey have any more of us had surgery on March? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
