    Hiatal hernia and sleeve surgery

Sounds like: you are cleared for surgery. You are emotionally ready for surgery. But don't do the surgery, do it naturally instead. Interesting, very interesting. Do you sense a dichotomy there? I sure do![emoji26] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Several ideas come to mind. 1 Your body was happy beebopping along, now you ask it to survive on less fuel. Danger- she may start to starve. First,I'll ask my friend appetite to give her hunger pangs, if that doesn't work i'll slow her metabolism down and we'll go into starvation mode. 2. Sometimes GERD and gastritis can mimic hunger symptoms. What was (notice I said was) my go-to, a big bowl of cold creamy fat and sugar laden ice cream. Now I have love handles, a muffin top and a hubba hubba hiney. I'm not an easy flip-and- move, I require extensive renovation. 3. The hunger may be in your head instead of your tummy. Your unconscious mind doesn't have give up easy. It says We've always done it the other way. It worked the other way. Why can't you leave well enough alone? Just a few thoughts from yours truly![emoji14]5. Outside chance it could be something else, check with your medical persons when you get a chance. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    So. Many. Appointments.

It is good that this period of time must elapse. This way you can study about its physical impact, the emotional changes you will go through. You weigh the positives, the negatives, then you make the decision for yourself. Is it worth the time, effort, commitment I must make to ensure success? Each,of us must make the decision for it is Your Body and the person you must satisfy is You! If like Martin Luther you can say "Here I Stand, I Can Do Naught Else" I would say you are ready for what must come until you reach your weight loss journeys end.[emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  13. My surgeon(well actually he's my orthopaedic) says operations are GOOD for people, you are living proof of that! You look fine and dandy! Of course the 1st time I heard Dr Ken say it I thought he was trying to drum up business! He is really a skillful surgeon but when he relaxes he's funny as heck. Constipation

Colace is also good and I had absolutely no problem with Miramax but I guess some people do. You might also get a box of Smooth Move Tea, usually in big box stores near the herbal and regular teas, and it's almost a certainty your local health food store will stock it also. 15. If you are not able to take iron pills, years ago I had to take I think Ferrous Gluconate, not tiny pills but maybe they have smaller ones these days. Worst case: iron injections, whoeee those aren't fun but you do what you have to do to get and stay healthy[emoji7] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Eat more foods containing it, liver if you like it, is one of the best. Try to also to get in Orange juice or other citrus , the Vitamin C helps your body with assimilation. Most any food list should tell you what else has a high %of iron. I think beets are also pretty good[emoji12] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  19. And I had the opposite happen to me. My psych, which i found out later was not from the hospital where my former bariatric program was based but an independent person contracted in,I'm not certain if she had done bariatric evaluations before, told me in December 2017 I had passed with flying colors, shook my hand and wished me well on my future surgery. Then she had the audacity to send a report to the bariatric program that I wasn't emotionally stable for surgery, and if I can believe the person calling me with the rejection I lacked the comprehension to fully understand the surgery. Bovine excretement! The only emotional problem I have now is triune. Sorrow that I wasted my valuable time humbling myself to jump through their "hoops". Disbelief that such a thing be inflicted upon a decent & nice person. And finally anger that the statement of a mental or emotional impairment be entered. I have Mensa level intelligence, I am fully cognizant of the risks of surgery, am aware what the future commitment to a lifestyle change entails, realize at my age[emoji70] I may heal slower, have a higher degree of pain but still believe surgery [emoji40]will be superior to Living in an aging deteriorating obese shell which will lead to my eventual death. My adult son was present at my psych evaluation, heard every word spoken and would testify to all happenings, if he needed to. Yet I was,"kicked to the curb" by people I had a relationship with since August 2015. At this point I sorrow for the trust they betrayed, the abject waste of 2 1/2 years of my life and the attempt to destroy my confidence in myself and my worthiness for what I fought so hard to achieve. Every trip was 100 miles round trip, that should be an example of me being committed to a future change. But I picked myself up, dusted myself off, and I'm still persuing my surgery, because I believe in my chance for future health. I want to be thinner, fitter and most importantly alive and really living the remainder of my life. I believe still in me and what I can still accomplish. So I pray this alternate program [emoji541]will work with me to assure a true future and life triumphant![emoji13][emoji106][emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Have psych eval for 2 hours April 25 and should know more after that. Don't worry I'm not giving up until I get my surgery. I'm hanging here the duration![emoji13][emoji12][emoji12][emoji12][emoji12][emoji12]Want mine over and done before August, that is my high school class reunion. Endoscopy- Waived or not?

My son had one at 37 by our gastroenterologist, gave him peace of mind, all he has is internal hemmoroids. Remember Katie Couric's husband Jay Monahan, died at 41 or 42 with colon cancer. They had 2 daughters and I bet they will be screened early in their adulthood.[emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
