Showering post-op with a Medicine ball and drain?
frust8 replied to Colleen M.'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Put it in a zip lock bag if you have one the right size. If you don't improvise, I have oodles of Walmart, Dollar General and Dollar tree bags around, I tied and tied till I covered up my handcast/brace. You're right, a girl can just stand so much feeling scrounged and yucky. Worst case scenario, run water in the tub, sit on the edge of the tub, wash as far as possible and then with a washcloth wash the rest. You'll get through this all and rise triumphant on the other side. Minor inconvenience is followed by perfection, you can do this kid![emoji14][emoji106] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Some people I have told, some not. And the people outside the loop? Most of them couldn't hold water or were loopy themselves![emoji7][emoji106] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

“You don’t need that just go to the gym”

And, Creekimp, I have relished the fact I can now replace them with people who treat me in a decent manner, who lead by example instead of belittling me and any decisions I attempted to make, who accept me as I am , with flaws but still a good and worthwhile person. Sure I've removed a few but the ones to replace them are so much superior individuals. Thank you for being a new friend who has helped me on my journey![emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
You might still have residual gulping left, just let it gently trickle down for a while. That is going to be one of my own trials to overcome I have been a bolter/gulper from the word go. You are and probably will be, I guess a week or so, swollen in there.I haven't had this surgery but I have had others with endo- trachael tubes, better than dying but there will be moments where you just wonder! Sending love and a virtual hug, cause a real one would still hurt [emoji14][emoji173][emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Finally got my Approval and Date!!

You know it is deep in your[emoji173] Don't invite Doubting Thomas, Nervous Nellie and Negative Nancy to your party, they are all Party Poopers anyway. Invite Forward Frances, Committed Caroline, Slim Sam, Smoothie Suzie and most of all, Victory Valerie there. They are are all a nicer group of individuals, not a back-stabber among them. Keep the faith, you have almost made it to the home stretch! Love and hugs Hon!!! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

Gastric emptying study
frust8 replied to Astarisborn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had never heard of that kind of thing until I watched the video from Mercy Bariatrics in Perth Australia. Apparently, they. do something similar with barium and marshmallows, they also have a test called the rice cream swallow, all different paths with but one goal, to see what's going on with your gastrointestinal system. Is what you're exhibiting called gastroparesis? There was someone else on here talking about that, might have something to do with slow stomach emptying? Oh you learn about so many interesting things on Bariatric Pal, I am glad I joined this happy group.![emoji14][emoji14][emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Thanks Jess- you're the best Head and shoulders above the rest No matter the question, you pass the test My poem is now concluded and So is my little poetry fest. Thanks again Ms Jess![emoji12] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

“You don’t need that just go to the gym”
frust8 replied to AiyanaC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No I don't think so, ain't nothing easy about the path to WL surgery. For me to do it by gym My gym isn't 24 hours a day(1) At my age I'd rip every joint muscle from its mooring(2) I'd have a heart attack or stroke(3) Everybody would laugh at me trying to do a circuit wheezing all the way(4) My mamma didn't raise me to be that foolish and an object,of ridicule. Bah dump dump dump! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Are we allowed to share how psych evaluation go?
frust8 replied to TropicalBeachDoll's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations in advance for finding something that works for you. Now have it, get better, get thin and healthy so you can mentor me. My road has been so crooked and bumpy I need all the mentoring I can get! But I will do it! I'm in it to win it! I may not be quiet as some people want but you'll still hear the Victory Bells ringing for me. As the old standards song said " It's Only A Matter Of Time"[emoji13][emoji444][emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Water going back and forth across your body. I kinda expect mine to make gurgling sounds when I drink and organ recitals from excess gas. I'll put up with it, I'll look so thin and cute they will blame it on someone else. Since I will no longer be the fat redheaded broad I won't be blamed for everything bad anymore.[emoji7] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

OMG Jess, i never thought of that, i've already lost some fat pad from my soles due to age, now I'm going to lose more due to weight loss? Oh s**t, has anybody out there seen the Stock Exchange reports today? I've got to call my broker and see if I can buy stock in Dr Scholl's? I'm going to be a definite customer! At least with less weight pushing down maybe my foot bones won't pop through but they may still stay sore. Oh as the carnival barker said " You pays your money, you takes your choice!" It will be worth it to have the rest of my body thinner, I'll put up with footie[emoji119] pain. And if I get small enough there will be a boy toy or 2 to carry my cute cougar body around. Rowll purrrr![emoji197] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Congratulations to you too.. One thing I find useful, although many of your March-ers have shared similar stories there is just enough divergence that no matter what happens in my future I can say Susie, Tammy, Rick or Eddie went through that, they made it and I can too! And I can cheer loudly as I see you pass me by completing your journeys toward thinness and health. Keep up your good work![emoji7] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Lex2287 please don't slap me silly cause sometimes I'm silly already but you might have to cut it back to something short like a d.a or pixie. Then as it comes back out normal you grow up it back in.[emoji29] Still it will come back, my girlhood BBF Yvonne ( may she rest in peace) had straight blonde hair, had chemo due to B.C., after hair loss it came back as red as mine and curly. She made it 4years 9 Mo. before cancer circled back and claimed her. Left her policeman husband, 4 kiddos 6-11 and all us friends to mourn her. Rick has moved up to being Deputy Chief in Columbus Ohio, never remarried, Yvonne would be so proud of the kids and him. But in the dark of the night I still mourn and I'm sure they do too. Sorry, didn't mean to digress, blame it on my age, in your 70s you are midpoint between life and death a lot and sometimes thoughts resurface unexpectedly. 40+ what is age appropriate clothing to you?
frust8 replied to Healthy_life2's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When you youngsters figure this out let me know, I'll just sit here on the sidelines enraptured, of course at 72, you'll probably think my mind's out to lunch anyway. Age appropriate, I'm trying to resist the urge to get one of those tight poodle perms our moms and grannies had[emoji12][emoji70][emoji12] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Think of it as your body catching its breath and realigning and then you'll jump forward into weight loss, it would be nice if weight loss was all smooth but instead it is fits, starts and spurts, worse than an out-of-tune old jalopy, isn't it? And when I have a stall, please remind me,okay?[emoji7] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Me neither, I would look like Telly Savalas or even worse his fat, kinda ugly brother Frank. Last good looking bald person I saw was Yul Brynner and that goes back a while [emoji6] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Hungry and Full at the Same Time??
frust8 replied to logicwand's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could it be cramping of your newly renovated gastric area instead of true hunger pangs? I would say to follow your scheduled plan and see if it gets better. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Sugar alchols are basically,Splenda, I imagine it depends on your doctor and their judgement or bias. Do you have a diet sheet from your dietician or surgeon. If it says artificial sweetners are permitted, you're cool.[emoji46] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
