    Hernia

There was a lady on I think the gastric sleeve forum who's also had to have multiple hiatal hernia repairs, her doctor kinda shrugged his shoulders and told her she must be prone to them. Not sure that would make me feel any better![emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Orbera Balloon Next Week!!!!!

I know the hospital I am having my RnY at, OSU-Wexner Medical Center in Columbus Ohio is still doing Gastric Balloon but it is only for a 6 month duration and usually for lower BMI or to get some people in shape for more bariatric surgery but usually the former. Looks like it's pretty expensive for what you're getting.[emoji6] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery is tomorrow! 3/26

Is anybody having surgery March 30th or 31st?[emoji40] I haven't heard of a peep[emoji214] from any of them yet? That way March will go out with a bang, like a lion[emoji197] instead of a lamb.[emoji207] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    I flew....I fit!!!!

Yeah and I bet underneath I always will. Even with my modest pre surgery losses I'm seeing it and it will only be amplified later.[emoji6] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. And when you are thinner from your surgery etc you can say " nah nah na Nan na" under your breath![emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Let me expand a little on linx-this I do know a little on the subject of, surgeon in my town did them frequently. They place a strip around your esophagus where it meets the stomach containing magnets, outside not inside esophagus. They are strong enough they hold the sphincter aka cardiac sphincter shut except when you are are swallowing food through. Sounds good, an answer to prayer ? Well not exactly- you lose your ability to belch. Still sounds good? Okay here comes the kicker- you also can no longer vomit. The very same magnetic strength that keeps you from refluxing also keeps your emesis in. For me the trade-off would not be worth it but it's your surgery, your money, your body and ultimately your decision. [emoji29] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hiccups

Welll, sometimes hiccups come with stimulation of nerves, I think maybe vagus?. anywhoo they were monkey-doodling with your diaphragm, sewing up the hole in it which what a hiatus hernia is, maybe they aggravated things in there a little, in which case it is self-limiting, should be,over soon, just a little bump on the roadway of life[emoji13] Now put a big smile on your pretty face, it's gonna be all right soon![emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. I am having a RnY for multiple reasons, some of which- quicker weight loss, GERD, asthma which can be caused/aggravated by GERD, sleep apnea which also could be aggravated by GERD, my age(72) the fact that it is a proven gold standard treatment, and call me sentimental but I loathe the idea of them removing. 75% of my stomach and either giving it to some pathologist or throwing it in the trash. Granted it worked too well at extracting every calorie from foods but I was kind of fond of the old muscular bag, I don't want him yanked out a keyhole incision in my abdomen and cavelierly pitched away. I came into this world with him, I'd like to leave with him still there. So far all I've donated to pathology is 1 appendix, 2 tonsils, 1 thumb joint and some biopsy slides, not ready to up the count right now! But it is YOUR BODY, you and your surgeon will make the decision for YOU not me. You are the one who will live with your body and your decisions. Decide and decide well, for there are seldom do-overs in Bariatric Surgeries. And no matter what your decision we will help you, love you, encourage you and cheer every triumph you make in your life.[emoji13] Your friend and co traveler on this weight loss road ** frust8 Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Is my progress enough?

Well like the head guy at Norman Marcus said "If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it!" Elforman you are a treasure beyond price, we couldn't afford you if you charged![emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Relying on what was on video from Australia, they can also go down with a smaller gauge bougie like a 35-38 French and chinch it up smaller, Did not mention plication, I think what the questioner was alluding to is done. endoscopically, with interior stitching, the Australian surgeon does his the traditional way with stapling, maybe overstitching the seam afterwards etc so basically the same as the original laprascopic surgery. Said recovery might be slower, weight loss slower but that it works and works well. He was from Mercy Bariatrics in Perth. [emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. My Just My Size jeans should say on one pocket "Seriously" and on the other "WideLoad", but just you wait, I'll be in Wranglers, Levis and junior sizes before 2019! I want to go from "Hubba Bubba. Heinie" to "Good God Momma" and I believe I can do it! "Motivation leads to Creation". "They said she Couldn't do it but She Did!" Varoom and hand me a bottle of Muscle Milk, I'm on My Way![emoji13][emoji351][emoji13][emoji779] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  19. Yeah keep things floating and free, kidney stone is rated the worst pain, trumps childbirth and even heart attack, mind you I don't want to experience all 3 to judge for myself. I would rank acute pancreatitis ahead of childbirth and I had 3 unmedicated natural ones, that pain is so bad you almost long for death as a release. So anything Bariatric surgery can do to me short of doing it with only a shot of novacaine, a box cutter and some fishing line, I can and will handle it. Look me up in the next couple months and I bet I'll still be singing the same song[emoji444][emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    TMI - sorry

Residual blood from your surgery or its hung around in your colon so long it's overprocessed and nearly senile? Be sure to keep moving things along and out even if you have to resort to Miralax, Colace, M O M or Smooth Move Tea. You don't want to resort to the Fleet being in or his evil uncle the dreaded High Colonic! They are not fun dudes to hang with[emoji46][emoji46][emoji46][emoji46] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  23. And we will also have a neat Group of people in May. I think there are already May forum threads out there, just got to find them and put yourself in. I have friends in the January-February-March ones and a lot in the April, you'll find as time goes by you will still follow their progresses as long as they are active on here. There is one from January that is still dear to my [emoji173] when I first joined BP she said something very kind to me and i never forgot. She doesn't post as often anymore but when she does I'm very happy. You'll probably find your own . Among the guys I especially like Mattymatt and Rainbow Warrior but many other guys are also good. There aren't as many men but their viewpoint is spot on so many times. James M, I forget how his last name is spelled, he is a veteran who has seen a lot, knows a lot and is meticulous in his research. Any fact he quotes is the truth. There are many who are very humorous, they pick me up when this old cowgirl gets the blues! There are a few newbies that think I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread, I love helping them all. And if i actually didn't hang the moon and the stars I'm not letting them know! Have a good and peaceful day, okay?[emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
