Anyone N-W Ohio area ?
frust8 replied to Sonyawon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And you live in Ohio's largest county where there are still many covered bridges, the Bridges of Madison County Iowa have nothing on you. Pymantuning Lake is shared between you and NW Pennsylvania, and you have Lake Erie to love just like Sandusky [emoji569]but it's deeper at your end. You may have kinfolk across the state line into the Keystone State but you're still Buckeyes down deep. Have I got it pretty straight Ms Connie?[emoji106] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

So. Many. Appointments.
frust8 replied to insta_adventurer's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I look at it as: it took a while to add this weight, it will take a while to subtract it. Short of having someone slice it off of me like fat off a pork chop, there could and would be a lot of work involved. Knew that when I started but I am taking every chance to learn as much as I can on this journey. And as I learn and the calories burn I'm making deposits into my Healthy Account, and it will serve me well in my future days. It will mean more to me for the work and time I have put into it than if I had been hit by a lightening bolt or did it over the weekend. And I can live strong and vibrant until death, that will be when it comes but there is no longer any hurry to get there.[emoji304] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
And who said fun was mandatory in life? Either we react to others or they react to us. We can't turn to food as shelter, we can't smother sorrow in a chocolate layer cake, lay down and give up. Some days you have to walk your blues away, reach out to the world around you, manufacture your own joy. Commit yourself to give, but even more so, commit yourself to live. In helping others you may help yourself also. Don't beat yourself up for your past, today is a new day and commit yourself to the future, no matter what tomorrow brings, you are strong and you can handle it. Give a smile to those you meet or greet along your way, you might be making their day, they might be making yours but they might travel a little way through life with you. Make your own kind of music and relish the song it brings. Take a deep breath, let it out and then go forward one step at a time into life.[emoji13][emoji149][emoji150][emoji151][emoji152][emoji149] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Go for a walk with your significant other. Notice how nature changes with each season. Sit down and talk to each other. Yes really talk, tell them something you appreciate about them in your life, maybe tell them how their life had a positive influence on yours. Come on, they must have done something good or you wouldn' t still,be hanging with them. Go to a concert, you don't have to go out to eat afterwards. Go walk on a beach and look at the ocean . Realize how big it is, then look at S O, isn't it good you're not adrift without them. Sit and talk about your past, dream about your future. Thanks to yours or theirs weight loss you Now you may have,a future denied by,former weight levels. Glory in each other and love, for in the end it all boils down to love, love for yourself and each other.[emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Where are all the 50 something bypass patients?
frust8 replied to choosehope's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
No you certainly are not. Many others are older, as a example me. I am 72, will be 73 the 26th of December 2018. I have been planning to have RnY surgery in Columbus, having gone through one program, completing everything, surgery was not completed there. Now I am attempting for completion this Spring, I am now expecting May, but I'll be able to say by the end of April with more certainty the time of completion( I think). If it seems vague imagine how it feel to live it. But I am committed to this endeavor, stubborn enough to see it to the finish. After years of being treated as though I was an unimportant appendage of my family, I have reared upon on my haunches and said" No it is MY time and My chance for a future", I have never in my life been this assertive, from childhood on my desires were sublimated to others, be they parents, husband children I constantly put their welfare to the forefront. Now, before my time on earth is over, I will put my welfare, my health and my body first. It is not easy to me, I still get a little panicky it will still be yanked out of my grasp. After being told I was nothing without another person in my life, to find out I am good, worthy and able to need no one to prop me up, it is surprising. But you know, I like it and I like me., as I didn't for years[emoji13]So I will glory in my surgery day, for it will be a Day of Rebirth. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

Weight on Drivers License
frust8 replied to Sleeved36's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think I always told them I was 250, I'm really over 300, should pull mine out and recheck, I don't remember what I put down last December when I renewed. FYI my state (Ohio) requires your height and weight on hunting and fishing licenses. I know because when I worked at WallyWorld I was cross-trained in Sporting Goods and sold many. One guy asked me one day why Ohio wants his height and weight on his license? Told him the only thing I could figure was if somebody shot him it would make it easier to identify the body.[emoji14] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -

Sleeve or Bypass with GERD?
frust8 replied to Jerseygirl4523's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Some people swear their GERD got better with weight loss and that they did OK with the sleeve, but I think one of the bypasses either RnY,or SIPS would be better.[emoji13] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app -
Most people get them from h pylori or NSAIDS but I'll never discount stress, I still feel that has a lot to do with things. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Never feel alone, you have us and most of us have felt what you're feeling. If hubby didn't complain of these things, either they didn't affect him the same way or men are just wired differently. Don't get me wrong I do love the critters, was even married to one of them for 44 years but they definitely are strange. You ever want to vent come here, been there ,done that ,made it through, and so will you! See-- I wax poetic at times. We're as good as talking over the back fence to neighbors. Yeah and some foods I've always liked don't agree with me anymore, think my body may be telling me something! Happens! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
