SEPTEMBER 2018 SURGERIES AND SUCCESS
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And since I am having ambulatory/short Stay Surgery at 7: 30 am , I had to have a pre-surgery appointment on Monday the first a.k.a April Fool day. So I took the opportunity to get weighed, 232 pounds, do you know what PeePs? This gives me a BMI OF 35.27 and that means I AM NO LONGER MORBIDLY OBESE- I have entered the world of merely OBESE, on the outside It is yawn, "Yeah that's nice" on here It is TRIUMPH pure clear TRIUMPH and I am both proud and dumb-struck it happened to me! In case anybody is remotely interested , all that is happening, is the titanium plate and 12 screws that held my badly broken upper right arm bone, the humerus in place for 9 years and 2 months needs badly to be removed, either 1. it has outlived Its usefulness 2. with the weight loss it's like it rocks and pinches nerves, but I have not been pain-free for weeks, it is affecting my life quality, can't sleep without my pain meds that I have hoarded, don't like them, a potential constipation factor, and have enough sorrow there already, wish I could get back my nice easy to pass daily 💩I had prior to surgery. Maybe when my diet gets more complete it will happen! Gosh I do hope so!! -
Most adolescents are not self- starters, they often need a little Jump Start to get in Gear.

Ask him if his neck is feeling sore? If not, he and you both are going to come through this Okay. A normal reaction from a body still a little peeved at what you permitted to be done to it. It and you will both get better as time goes by!😝👍
-
Wishing you well, may all go smoothly.

So familiar, I too had something similar in my WLS life, luckily my Last surgeon was the Best surgeon , the one for me . Sometimes you do have to go through vasting, tearing stitching out, before a beautiful final garment is achieved. May our poster find her perfect fit for a perfect surgery. I think that is what each of us desire!😝

Question on how you deal with the WLS haters...
Frustr8 replied to charlie2311's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
A living hug for you today, maybe a little ahead of your surgery, but still sincere. Only YOU can do YOU, each of us reacts a point where you fear major surgery less than continuing as you are. My trigger may, and probably was, different than yours but no less valid. May you have a wonderful surgery, may it give you many more years with your boys, may you see them grow up, establish their own family units, and may you have the joy of grand and great-grand children. And most of all, may God Bless YOU!❤ -
Found something in my inspirational. quotes- thought of it to honor you and all your Surgery Twins. AND THEN IT HAPPENS,,,, One day you wake up and you're in this place. These challenges make you freshen up your plans, and also you do feel a part of a group, even if our journeys differ we can wave at each other on the pathway.

They are cute critters, but do you realize that's why puppies and kittens were created so cute? You take them in when they are tiny and pretty helpless, by the time they grow into big.animals they have you by the ❤strings.

The shakes three weeks post
Frustr8 replied to theskinnyme87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Still a lot of " on job training" after these WL surgeries, we all learn what works and doesn't work for our individual nodies, what things are unacceptable and what out remodeled bodies will agree to. Me I'm either a shake Commodore or something close to it, been clear since last summer and they still are in my life. When will this liquid torture be over? Only God , my surgeons, and my redefined GI system truly know. Its rather a "need to know" basis, if YOU don't know now that you've been disinvited from the inner circle. Like the 60s song If you don't know now, you may never know! Always thought it had a pretty melody line!🎶, forget who recorded it. -
At 7 months ( well it will be Friday) I have lost only a minimal amount. My beautician Sheliah said she could tell but doubted others would. Good thing because I am a Redhead (well actually Strawberry Blonde, but it's in that family) , well known redheads have the fewest hairs per square inch in the first place.. I was fearful I would be combing my hair with a damp washcloth! Maybe the 3 months of TPN helped out there, my fingernails must be trying, still,to,overcome the surgery. this week they are teally cracking and breaking. Started trying Hair, skin, nail capsules but they make me nauseated, do I really need that? Vomited, more with,my RnY recovery than ever I did with 3 babies. Back then it resolved itself quickly each time, not now, I'm like a large cat with hairballs, Belch, retch, puke, cry, repeat! Ms Pouch, the Precious thing she is rules with an Iron hand, little benevolence from her " I DO NOT LIKE THAT, NEXT STOP, UP AND OUT of Frustr8. Only blessing, it returns up so fast there isn't any oder. Wonder if interaction and peristalsis returns or will she forever be an Tupperware container with a small pin- point leak in the bottom., opening into the jejunem, section #2 of the small intestine, I know a lot about the mechanics of surgery, but learning the after effects as I go. I need to commission a t- shirt to quiet a few people. It will say "Long enough to to be effective, short enough I am not constantly malnourished" So How's Yours?" Would you believe we once had an entire thread on this subject? It was still going strong when I joined into Bariatric Pal. From all that I read , people constantly was to know how long bypasses are and how thick or thin VSG sleeves run. Don't worry so much myself, just want Precious to gain some maturity and start behaving herself. I give her good health and hearty food, chewed into a glutinous paste, never spit out mouthful to see if they are a grayish shade, but they should be senile as long as meals take. People kvetch about a month or six weeks of liquids, put on my moccasins, yours truly has been partaking of protein shakes since last summer, some shake company ought to hire me as food taster, I now have the training and experience.🍀🍶🍶🍶🍶👈👸👉!

You sound like me, I did the entire. month of August 2018, knew by my surgeon's actions I must have had NASH, many obese people do, worked and worked well, lost 15 pounds, but I had the smooth, sleek liver of a newly born calf, made my surgery easier on Dr Needleman and myself. Know the top scar, just below my sternum, was where he placed the liver retractor, a lot more easy to place a small one instead of a thick, one with " load levelers" built in. My daddy once had a car with load leveler shocks, if made. a really neat, whirring noise if there was anything heavy,in the back end of the vehicle. Was a very, nest vehicle, we were, very happy with it until the garage towed it in for repair of something else, broke those shocks and it was never quite right afterwards. Stupid Mechanics!

Question on how you deal with the WLS haters...
Frustr8 replied to charlie2311's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
A true assessment from my own youth. Beauty is skin- deep Ugly ( and I believe rudeness also) goes through to the bone. Those people do not hate you and your WLS struggles half as much as they hate themsekves, they are lashing out at someone they think weaker. Stay strong, Prove them Wrong! -
Staying in a relationship where you are not appreciated is not loyalty- It is breaking your own heart.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy? My best guess.

The bestest part? if you are above 40 BMI co- morbidities are not necessary. Of course, at the age of 72, I had picked up a few along the way, but they are among the most reasonable with requirements. One of my friends had an insurance that demanded she write an essay on how she could not stick to a diet, she felt very demeaned by the process. You know, you try so hard you're nearly biting your lips and it just doesn't work.

My April 2nd offering is a combine of # 1 and 10. For #1,i have a NSV, well there is a little scale in there also. I dropped a size in less than a month, Now a 20'22( 2 X )from my faithful old 26W, I'm a little perturbed I had bought a pair of pull- up denim pants, and now the pull-up is fall- down .Only wore them once, been hanging in closet, and now, short of suspenders, I can't wear them! And #10 I am proud of my 30 pound weight loss in just one, month. I have felt very hateful toward my body, I had tried. all those diets, and it constantlyfought and failed me. Thank you body for helping me now to,lose, it's got to be 50% or more working with surgery, but I think you do ❤me after all And I'm going to stop putting you down, you're a good body after all. Might rub you with some sweet smelling lotion, make you feel all soft and smooth. Lets be best friends from now on!

Then GradyCat, she deserves her chance to be listed, I talk fairly constantly about my Dr Needleman, gosh I guess I do have a professional crush on him, he and his beautiful partner Dr Sabrena Noria, are skillful wonderful surgeon's and also wonderful to know. She looks like a beautiful Arabian Princess, but don't let the outside fool you, she is without a doubt superior intellect as well. But are they listed? Can't really tell, I do my Bariatric' palling with an android Smartphone, not on computer, and those features are for the laptop and home computer crowd. I can't even update my profile, not that I haven't tried. I get reassured that these things will be phased into Apple and Android systems and I do believe it can be done, but it seems to be moving slowly. Things always move slowly when you really want something!

And you can talk to us, even when you feel like hitting your head against something, even when they build walls of brick that you feel like you can't surmount. We're here, many of us have battled against the many tentacled beast that is for-profit insurance in the USA in 2019. And quite a few have managed to win!

OMG you just channeled the pre-surgery Frustr8 there, DanaC84. I sorrow to admit this but there were times I would sit down with a big Size Bag of Lays Honey bar-b-que chips, sit down to watch TV or Cable, start munching away and didn't stop until the bag was empty. The other night Tomkitten tried to tempt me with a baked one, could not even finish it, seemed about as tasty as a piece of wax paper. Why did I used to engore like that? Seems like a story of someone else, couldn't have been ME! But alas, it really was.💦

Easter candy problems
Frustr8 replied to KCgirl061's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well I like Jelly Beans more than Gum Drops, pulled a filling out of a molar,on a Jellied Orange Slice once. But stay strong, I know you can do it, one thing about your Slow movement ahead in Canada, you have developed strength and resilience. Nobody can say it's "Spur of the Moment" it's more like You want the Province or Federal government to pay this? Okay here is your Time Line! Seems like it it weeds out the " flash in the pan" types, they either give up or run off to Mexico if they can afford it! Gosh, I am glad you're vack, still have that one time about If You can't see way into the future, can you do one hour, one day?. I know THERE was more, but I printed it off and kept it because it REALLY HELPED! -
Paula that sounds both very interesting and a REAL HOOT to do! Update us on it, I surecwoyld like hearing more about it!

So I do hope Friday you get answers, and answers YOU can live with, at your doctor's office. Do let me know updates, guess because I am OLDER than dirt, I do worry about everyone else on Bariatric Pal. Maybe I am rocking my Granny- Great Granny- hood, well we all got something to rock, don't we? Makes life bouncy and interesting, we may be individuals but we are all still united in getting. thinner, better and healthier on here and isn't that just the COOLEST THING?
