Scared about endoscopy/colonoscopy
Frustr8 replied to ohjuly7878's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also awake for one of mine last October 26th, very interesting, indeed, not intentional, I am a Red-head, we tend. to need extra sedation, so mine was an "Oopsie" but I would not be afraid , if it happened ever again. Found out my surgeon who is my own surgeon's junior partner is just as gentle while you are asleep as when you are awake. Have great deal of respect for her and her skills, had I met Dr Noria before my RnY, I would have felt safe in her hands as much as I did Dr Needleman. They both are😷 exceptional people.😝🍀💕 -
And wherever it finally is, have a wonderful smooth surgery! That's. what I wish for each of US.

Pumping Stomach full of air?
Frustr8 replied to april042019's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My hospital Ohio State University- Werner Medical Center in Columbus Ohio, extracts as much gas as possible before finishing each surgery, that way patients do not have the misery of fighting it out of their systems. Thank You my surgeon and Medical friends there! -
How long is the RNY surgery, typically?
Frustr8 replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
BallPark figure I was told, for uncomplicated, 90 minutes to 2 hours. I'm sure it will be exactly the amount of time each case necessitates. -
After every endoscopy they ask if I am still using my :C-Pap? Yep Uncle Snuffly and I are still steady-dating, maybe in July when I see my Sleep Specialist we can "Break Up"? Wonder if she will make me go through another Sleep Evaluation or will I merely get credit for "Time Served" and he will become history? Notified in January by Lincare that Medicare had paid for it long enough that I owned him Outright. Didn't know what to say when they told me that, just politely thanked them for the message.

Fueling for a half marathon post bariatric surgery
Frustr8 replied to skyguy's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Autism Society usually has an Autism Walk. Another good one is one for Adult Congentinal Heart Disease,My son apparently. had cardiac problems along with dying. of an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm, he looked so healthy nobody checked into it, as His parents my Last Husband and I had no clue! If he had any pre- symptoms we weren't aware and if he had felt them, it had been life- long and he didn't know of any other way to feel. Diabetes, MS, Muscular Dystrophy, there are oodles of diseases who sponsor Mini, Half and Full,Marathons, should be,one for Bariatrics, I think. Of course since everyone's recovery is individual, maybe nobody would walk, March or run? Just a suggestion!🚶&🏃 -
So how are you. and. Roman Loser doing now? Just wondering.

Stomach pain and soreness
Frustr8 replied to Kidnurs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could be extra stitching put in there for re- enforcement. if it is, it will release at the time you're healed enough, not every surgeon does do that, but many do. Say it helps prevent any internal herniation! -
Bowel prep before surgery?
Frustr8 replied to mesja68's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My son's Bowel Prep before colonoscopy contained both Mg Citrate and Duocolax. A LOL which was part of it,i He was permitted lemon and lime Jello along with fluids during, prep. In the pictures he received after the procedure was finished, there is visible lime jello, cliinging to the colon walls. As much,as he went to the BR before, you could swear it would be impossible! 😝📝📆 -
Got my TPN out February 26th,lost 30 whole pounds within the next month. So I am back moving on, but this afternoon I am back in Urpville, though I would eat1/4 of ham salad on toast, bad bad choice, and this last half hour has not been full of Joy! Oh I am due for another Zofran at 4 pm, never really got to quit them yet. Oh poor foolish me, you would think I would know better!

Does help explain it all to you? I sure would not wish stomach uneasiness on my friends. My enemies, well ,them I don't mind them being miserable! -
Use your Biotene mouthwash if you have it!

well thought I would try a little ham salad on toast, major mistake and now I am curled into a ball over the wastebasket. Why did I think,i would get away with this? Grandpa Saying: Them who don't listen, got to feel!" So yes it is not the newly adjusted who get this , I am 7 whole months out and have a stomach of fragileglass instead of a heart of stone. Tomkitten has been playing 80s songs again so lyrics of that fresh in my mind. OMG I don't think I'm done just yet. Precious Pouch, I swear I didn't put THAT MUCH in you, now please please please stop!😫☁🚨❗

Anxiety/Depression after surgery
Frustr8 replied to njcardi97's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Depression is when you don't really care about anything. Anxiety is when you care too much about everything. And when they reside in the same body, it makes it a Living Hell! 😫 & 😪. -
Anxiety/Depression after surgery
Frustr8 replied to njcardi97's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A thought for you all! Never apologize for being sensitive or emotional. It is a sign that you have a big heart and you aren't afraid to let others see it. Showing your emotions is a true sign of strength, not weakness. -
I would have come from a much thinner heritage if that were only true!

An veryhoid thing todo, decluttering your mind. You don't need to give all the evil, snideful hurtful thoughts brain- room any more. You are moving on to Littler( instead of Bigger) better things in your life! Now I think I'll peek and see what the 15th challenge is!

And may Bad Wolf's puppy and your little one both come into the world, kicking, screaming and healthy. And that is the Bottom Line for all you girls , isn't it? -
Might be a blow to your ego to resort to insulin, but don't you really want what is best for Junior or Little Princess that you are carrying, read somewhere that post-Bariatric babies are usually 6.5 to 7.5 pounds instead of 9 or 10 pounds, Don't know know what magazine or website I saw it on!
