I am sure it is, many times I say to myself Why didn't you have this surgery sooner. 72 was not the prime age for Major Surgery. But then. I remember how resistant I would have been if someone had ordered me to have it. It took time to wear down my resistance to the whole idea, to it being something I should persue or not, and. I think the final timing had to be influenced by God. When I sought it at OSU, after a miserable pre- experience in a previous program, every little thing fell into place as if it was ordained. It is a wonderful facility, I had and still have a wonderful surgeon, I feel incredibly at home there, and the people I have met, they want only to make my experience wonderful. I have the honor of being my surgeon's oldest patient, my recovery has been good, but certainly not "textbook perfect", I had things come up that were unexpected, but together we met the challenge and I believe my final victory will be the sweeter for it! Last weight I had on Friday was 224 pounds , a big decrease from my highest weight of 365plus. And that's only 8 months, I still have 4 months before my First Surgibirthday on September 5th , who knows what I might achieve? I can't help but be upbeat about the prospect!😝⭐
  2. I would guess 6 weeks to 2 months, but that's only my opinion, that's when my swallow got less painful although I feel like. I still feel a pause where esophagus and pouch meet, Doctor keeps saying my esophagus looks normal on EGJ but I think my carddiac sphincter is kinda crabby like my pouch, the famous Ms Precious Pouch, she who rules my life!

Yeah Doctors have a lot of schooling and training to become licensed but who is to say they are not God's Instruments as well. Doubt or loss of faith does not cause Obesity but Bariatric surgery gives you tools to help being a success from that day forward!

    Waiting

Yep that's what the gap for me worked out to be, 7/17 to 9/05 2018. A few get lucky and get theirs quicker, but 6 weeks seems universal.
  7. Amen Mousecat, I do Jumping Jacks in case it will make my belly fat fall off, hasn't worked yet but I'm hopeful. If not my gut will continue looking like corduroy, might come handy as a washboard, always wanted Washboard Abs although I am certain this isn't what the term means!

A picture of ME climbing stairs, and I DO use bad words on each stair-tread. That's all I got to say on the subject.

    Carbohydrate intake

600 calories is the usual amount given, so maybe 200 per meal if you're on 3 a day.

People in my family used to say "People in h*** wish they had ice water!" Well I had a Flubberdoodle moment the other day. I said "People in ice water do feel like h***! " Maybe I should check this out if I ever fall through the ice during an OHIO WINTER?

    Any regrets

And more power to you! I am thrilled for you, I now don't waddle anymore so maybe I can increase my walking speed without getting winded!
  14. i never thought about this happening but I had it too. After my PICC was removed on February 26, by the end of March I had dropped 30 pounds from 264 to 234, and now I am at 224 but my belly looks like a train wreck, ridged like I derailed. Better see if I can do some more exercising, maybe I can sit up without feeling like I've cut my breath off. I know my skin will stay a little flabby, too long over 300 and half, but even a little firming up,feeling better about myself, yeah I do Believe I should!

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

Dontcha just love that name! My mother had a friend who named her cat Stinkie Pussie, Alice claimed she tried other cat names but she never responded to them. But this one, she meows and comes running for her Kat Kibble or Catnip. So if it's true" Different Strokes for Different Folks" I guess it follows" Different names are just part of the Game"

Made me some homemade Tapioca Pudding, 1% milk, Stevia sweetened with real vanilla. And I think I'll stir in protein powder each serving, left it out of the main bowl, if I know Tomkitten he'll sneak a little out for himself. I now weigh close to 30 pounds than him, he's muttering about talking to Dr Needleman about surgery for himself. And if so, he would probably be a good VSG candidate. But that's between the 2 of them, I wouldn't like pressured, so it's got to be HIS DECISION not mine!

    Just not feeling good

At my previous appointment Nurse Practitioner Valerie said my calorie count was so low I could actually "graze" not going to 1 It might have been what led to my Obesity Downfall and a Strong #2 Nothing appeals to Graze Upon. and #3 I kind of enjoy my smaller than Tomkitten body. People other day " Girl, what DID YOU do to yourself? I thought you were your cousin, never realized you 2 resembled each other!" Well me too, she never got bigger than a 14 and rubbed it in, and if I achieve the goal I set me I might be a 1/2 size bigger, but then I have 4 inches of height on her, so should be okay after all👩👸👍

I thought it was from Gremlins#1. I remember the older Chinese guy saying it when picking up Gizmo and taking him back,to his shop. And at the end, Gizmo says in his little voice( Howie Mandels voice-over) "Bye Bye Billy".

    Fruit!

Yeah, at its best, skins are hard to digest and, plus, you can cut things into bite-sized pieces.
