Me too, have to take extra Vitamin D, iron , and calcium although not all at the same moment. And the Magnesium fairy is waving her little hand to remind she's there also. Did you know you can't take Calcium and Magnesium at the same time? They are both Positive ions and head for the same receptor. Just another thing to schedule 2 hours apart. I feel like I'm selecting from a Chinese menu, 1 from Column A, 2 from Column B and bring me this one in Column C for dessert!

eating processed food and heart burn
Frustr8 replied to Happy Joy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Preservatives are evil and processed meat has a lot of them. Not impossible that you are sensative to that or artificial colors or other crap they may have stirred into their concoction. Remember they are not in business to feed you well as much as make money, and they take no hostages getting there! -
Bariatric fusion mixed berry water flavor
Frustr8 replied to starladustangel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried Protein2-0? And Ensure has a Berry flavored powder for hydration, a little pricey but I like it. Also Propel has Berry, maybe Gatorade and that other readily available in their Zero Incantation, And lastly Nestle Splash, like the other flavors it is zero calories. My son and I like Acai Grape best. And I could get addicted to Strawberry Kiwi Propel, maybe I am already! -
Hmmn, around Central Ohio, and especially Columbus they book you 6 weeks after your consults and insurances fall into place. I got my Surgery date on July 17, 2018 and had my RNY on September 5th, 2018 at 7 AM. That was a wonderful, life-changing Day for ME, ranks up with the Delivery Dates of each child, the Day I married my late husband, and my Graduation Day.Would you believe that was 56 years ago and some of my former classmates are the same as they were then. I see 5 or 6 out around town, most of us didn't retain our Girlish figures but mine is starting to emerge from my Fat Shell, it has been hid for years, you know.😛and I ❤ being in smaller sizes. Even though my whole body looks a train wreck, it is getting better, and I am starting to recognise myself in mirrors I pass- you see I look radically different than I once did. Ms Puffy Cheeks has left town forever, I hope they like the New Me, if not they will just have to come to understand because I AM NOT GOING BACK THERE! Not Now not ever! Too Many Good facets to this all! It was more than worth it to ME!

Finding the courage to get gastric sleeve done in Mexico with a BMI of 33
Frustr8 replied to newlifeat41's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You wonder at that, I wonder why a gastroenterologist would offer only a balloon to a 51 BMI as a bariatric solution? Was it just that he could do that here instead of travelling 50 miles to Columbus? Always felt in my ❤ I wanted and needed a RNY with the degree of GERD I had doubted a balloon would have bl8cked off reflux enough. -
And I usually find even those are tasteless, like chewing Styrofoam, guess my. natural Carb Craver has become extinct

Rinse with Biotene, carry fluid with you, sip small amounts often. Could also be caused by the meds you are taking, some of them dry you up worse than the Kalahari or Death Valley!

It's National Donut Day
Frustr8 replied to KCgirl061's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My favorite ones were Sour Cream cake, French Drillers and of course in Season Panczi( pronounced Punch- key, a Polish lump of Perdition, but oh so tasty! Most any flavor as long as they were glazed and not iced. Krogers and Wal-Mart bastardrize. them with frostning!) I guarantee nobody in Slavic Village does THAT to them. Strangely Glazed Yeast Donuts leave me cold! Probably due to the fact my Mama would buy them a day or 2 stale and try to warm them up when I was a wee Frustr8 before they invented Microwaves. So if you have only Glazed Yeast, I WILL NOT follow you home!👈😪👉 -
Having a hard time eating
Frustr8 replied to kitty0422's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And you're right Briswife, I was thinking the same thing, if not strictured, she has a swollen pouch or VSG tube and does need checked out. Hope she does get help! -
Having a hard time eating
Frustr8 replied to kitty0422's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told someone they could PM me, all they said was "Ha ha ha" scarcely worth going there to check it out! Is someone else besides me a comic? -
Now that is Righteous! My PCP lusts a whole of things wrong with me, largely to skim more monies off my insurances. Oh well, he is a pretty good doctor; had no problem referring me for Bariatric Surgery, for that I shall always be grateful.

Well Well Well, you have broken the 300 lb barrier--that was when I felt this might be doable. Now I seem to be stuck at 205, wanted Onderland so badly but it's like I see it loaming ahead, I almost have reached it, but now? Maybe a mini-stall? I am 9 months out, have led a charmed existance, even when I had a PICC l8ne for 3 months and was being fed TPN I still was losing,a few pounds monthly. ALMOST immediately after it was D/C I lost 30 pounds - kathunk. Now I have gotten back my "Honeymoon" wait loss phenomenon, was bouncing along, just ducky. Have made it into size 18s, many people start their WL there, but I was once 365+ pounds, wearing sizes 28 and 30W clothing when I could find it, usually in Mens Sweats for comfort, so you see, 18 is a THRILL for me! And me Oh my, the selection doubled in accessibility at 20, and even more at 18. That's a REAL PEOPLE size, dontcha know! Still feel my Precios Pouch is not quite right, I was told after my April 12th endoscopy that my opening between my pouch and,he jejunem (second intestinal portion) was " patent". medicalese for "open" so go ahead and advance my diet off of purees, soups and protein shakes. Ha Ha to the INTH Degree- I may have Looked openopen, but the real truth is; my pouch refuses to keep things thicker, even well- chewed down. I have kept up vitamins and other meds but still having the ulcer and pouch pain, lose things in rapid emesis after chewing, trying to eat more varied things, average 7- 10 emesis sessions weekly, so this Wednesday the 12th of June, another Endoscopy, was adding,up the, other day, it is my 12th or 13th Lifetime, I think I could almost start my own I also now have Bowing of my Vocal Cords, it is (a) A normal result of aging, I am 73 now.(b) pressure from my thyroid, nodules that continue v to grow, albeit slowly. Most doctors , especially my PCP and my ENT don't feel this is the reason (c) Too many endoscopy tubes going in has traumatized them. I either lose my voice or it sounds husky and strained. So I have, been having Speech Therapy, and I think it is working for me, although it never did for former President Bill Clinton. But I am still hopeful, not giving up now! Called my Bariatric Clinic one day when I had off and off upchucking, nurse who finally spoke to me was nasty, told me I was sick in my mind, I should know there was NOTHING WRONG with me, didn't need to travel to Columbus, I needed rather to call my county's Mental Health people and set up an appointment there. Stopped everything except fluids, did them slowly, 2 oz every 15 minutes, like I did when my pouch was newborn, and finally, kept down popsicles, and then sugarfree pudding before I dropped off to sleep. Saw my PCP in 2 days, said I was Not Going Wacky-woo, thought they were blowing smoke, said perhaps THEY were more the problem than ME. I should have had my quarterly iron assessment in June, I had an Iron INFUSION in March- well they have not Darkened my Phone Do it since I heard from Thing1 andvThing 2 in Columbus, didn't have another Clinic appointment until August, when I will. be a full11 months out. If they won't do for me, neglect me in this manner, let's see what can be accomplished locally. Plus last week, after an ER visit I was diagnosed with ileitis, inflammation and slight dilatation of the 3rd portion of my small bowel, is it transitory of the beginning of Crohns or IBS? Good thing an endoscopy is already scheduled, so one more thing for my gastroenterologist Dr Upchurch to check out. Until Tuesday evening continue on my Slow but steady liquid/puree diet. Started making my own soups currently have Beef Vegetable and Split Pea on hand, heat,up 1/2 cup and see what I can take in. Last week was cream of Cauliflower, have also made broccoli and,noodle-less chicken multi- veggie. Thought it might be easier, cost-efficent , and this way no preservatives etc like in processed canned soups. Hey it is BORING but it does keep me alive. And I am 115 pounds lighter than I was at Surgery Time, my inward question is "Am I killing slowly my body for this weight loss? I sure have things crop up when EVERYONE ELSE is dropping BP and Diabetes meds, my pill list stays the same or grows. Yeah we All have our 0wnTrip, but am I on the Last Train to Clarksville and just don't know it?

Sounding Scary-Larry but I am glad they found it and rectified it so quickly. Yes Thank God for your surgeon, he saw what needed done and did it! The possibility of you blocking, I pray that never happens, let's agree to have a smooth peaceful life, okay?

Tendons, ligaments ,muscles even nerves, a lot gets moved around ,or cut duri,g your surgery. Granted it is a lot less monkey- doodling than they did in the days of "open" incisions, I carry some scars from them that I will carry to my dying day, unless I have plastic surgery, and I doubt I will, Because most plastic surgeons would laugh someone my age right out their doors.Probably would be thinking. " Vain Old Broad!" plus in the rear of my mind I remember what happened. to Joan Rivers, went in for a Minor Procedure and ended up Majorly Dead. SO doubtful you did yourself too much harm turning over wrong, if you twisted or tore. something you wouldn't be alive enough by now to be reading this. And most things do get better with time!

Pre-Op RNY - No NSAIDS for one week
Frustr8 replied to Ready610's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hearing a lot of good things about. CBC oil, isn't too bad it might take a couple days to be effective, there are only a few instant satisfaction/ relief. things these days. Maybe like opiods they are trying to get rid of instant relief😪
