    Beta 'vs Original

I was told by a computer user it was next to my name when she accessed it. She was the one of many who complained our facts aren't updated, frequently enough Someone's apparently said, pre surgical when they were now post surgery and, have been for quite a while. I would love to update,my,own and will attempt to do,it every, time i have a change. While I have your attention what does, the term,Long Click mean?.Did I make a boo boo? I'll learn the ins and outs yet. I know I did at one time have some followers because I accessed one time off my Samsung tablet And they were there. But that's no,big thing I guess. Gosh I do miss the Edit feature. Bye and large I guess Beta is okay,,. I just miss what was removed.๐Ÿ˜ญ

    Beta 'vs Original

Hi @Frustr8! I'm not sure I fully understand some of your concerns here and am hoping you may be able to help clarify for me. 1) What do you mean you are given no 'credit' for number of previous postings? Are you referring to the item in the original app that showed the number of posts when you clicked on your name? 2) I've gone through the original app and am unsure of where you saw your ranking (eg: Guru In Training)? I can't find it listed anywhere in the original app, though it's possible I'm simply missing it. 3) When you say you have no followers nor are you following anything - I can verify that you don't have any followers and as for the "following" I believe you're referring to "Following" that's listed on your profile in the new app, in which case you are correct - you are not following any members. 4) "What gives with that bar that gives super sized emoji" - I think you're referring to the ability to react to posts. The one that shows a Heart (like), a Trophy (thanks), a Laughing emoji (Haha), a Confused emoji (confused) and a Sad Emoji (sad)? If so - these are reactions, which replace the more basic "Like" or don't like functionality of the older app. You can still "Like" the content, by selecting the heart, but you can also utilize one of the other reactions I mentioned if they seem more aligned with your feeling toward the post. P.S. Thank you VERY VERY much for providing feedback.

    Any short sleevers?

I am 5ft8in and 323. I am young enough at heart that I have a pair of cut off bib overalls, if I were average sized. you might call them DaiseyI Dukes. Since,i am a hefty Hubba Bubba Honey I call mine Lulu Boggs and I do,not wear them to the grocery but I do garden in them at home. By next year,I do plan a pair of Bono Fide Daiseys --even if they are more Bermuda length . A girl does get to have an occasional dream, doesn't she?
  4. Big Buffer you are so right. I grew up in the era of scool spankings. No I never received one but one of the things, that stopped me and my friends from silly muggy tricks? The knowledge, that if we received one at school we would receive another at homebody, having shamed the family. Now. I know physical, violence has left the, schools and b that's mostly a good thing. But,in my day (swore when i was young I'd never say that!) we did have a sense of family pride. You never committed an act, that would reflect badly on you, your parents and your entire family. It just never was done and we all knew it.๐Ÿ˜Œ
  5. They sure did, wish I could have sued their sneaky little backsides. Must, have been wearing my Stupid Suit with the matching Fool Me beanie. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
  6. After your research you usually can make a choice on which you'll live best with or tolerate more. If your surgeon recommends the other, ask what his justification is. Maybe they can see down the road better than you can. Maybe you have a body irregularity that one addresses better. But it is 80% your choice only 20% theirs, work it out between the 2 of you.๐Ÿ˜›
  7. And when someone,in something denies you, you will, sit and cry your eyes out. That is so much me I have the jacket to prove it. I was blindsided, thought if you were fair and honest with someone, it would only be to,my benefit. Wrong! But I was one of those infrequent happenings, you all will not,be!! And I will taste victory and I have to believe, you will be sweeter for the wait.๐Ÿ˜ Leading others to happiness is the greatest triumph.

And I am enraptured following your story as it unfolds. It is almost. like watching a child growing in maturity until they stand alone as an adult. Thank you for inviting me along on your journey!๐Ÿ˜›

  10. Yee-ouch! I'll be careful, funny the leg presses were always one of my favorite exercises. I hated the ones to stretch my calf muscles, especially since my left ankle from. my uncasted left ankle-tib-fib avulsion fx is semi froze. What happened , I did it while out fishing, stepped in an animal hole , caught it trying to pull it out I probably avulsed it myself. Went to an Urgent Care affiliated with Grant Hospital in Columbus. it was on the campus of Otterbein College, was called Grant Otterbein, probably, funtioned for the college and the nearby, public. They Xrayed it, said just a sprain and Ace Wrapped it. Sent me home and joked "Just don't do b it again!" Now I have had beaucoup sprains, sure didn't feel the same, but they were supposed to be the pros. Tuesday Morning the Radiologist from main Grant calls and asks " how are,you getting along with your walking cast?" To paraphrase the Treasure of Sierra Madre---"cast? I ain't got no stinking cast! "he says. " Hmmm well its a little too late to do the right thing now. You have a definite fracture and you've avulsed the ends off of your tibia and fibula!" Tra la la, isn't that just lovely! And it has never been quite right and that was 40 years ago. Maybe someday I'll get it some straightening out with surgery but I'm used to the cranky old beast. And at this point there are onlyb2 surgeries I desire

    Any April surgery buddies

I'm going to think of it as being strapped into a jet, no a rocket ship, and being prepared for launch. Yes they fasten your arms but its not tight like they were putting you in res traits for punishment,or protection for themselves. I had to deal with, them when in early days Long Term Care wasn't as restraint free as they are now. Funny I remember one of my surgeries they didn't strap me down, they sandbagged my arms on either side. Don't remember why. My surgeries even the one where they had to surgically stablize my fractured upper arm, not a fun injury in the least, I was treated very gently and in a calm manner. So much,i,do not fear having another. One thing I do recall from almost every time, that darn operating room. is always cold! Joked with my orthopaedic surgeon before knee replacement #1 "Are we trying to freeze all the germs and bacteria into immobility?", last thing I told him cause we have a friendly relationship " I'd better have a warm blanket on me when I wake up!" when I did in recovery I did and a Post a Note stuck to it that said " courtesy of your doctor". I'm lying there giggling, bet the nurses thought I'd been given too much Happy Juice. ๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜›
  12. Thanks, got an idea for a personal one for this,AM . Legs have been kind of achy, lie on my,back, bend knees up to chest then use Mr Stretchy and kick them out straight. Like to do,15 but I'll see how I feel after the first 5. The journey of a thousand miles starts with just one step. I think that may be an old Chinese proverb. Smiles and blessings on your day MANPOWER! ,,,,,,Frust8

    Post op freak out

I would like to be Type A, a lot of us in the first flush are. But in most other things in life I'm--- B baby- all the way. So in Bariatrics i expect I'll be the same. Spent too much of my life beating myself up,mentally and emotionally and it gained,me,nothing except disgust and self-loathing. I realize now how counter-productive it is to hate yourself. So I'm learning day by day, I'm pretty cool, and quite worthy of love. And I'm going to reward myself with the Surgical renovations I need to live in this body.Like the flippable houses on HGTV I have "good bones" instead of hauling me off to the dump, I will tear my flawed drywall off, get down to the studs and rebuild myself out. Don't need to sell myself, indeed I don't have to even try to be marketable, I'll just stand firm on my foundation of healthy diet. and good lifestyle practices. And the winds of fattening fast food, sugary snacks and missing meals will not prevail for I know me, I love me and from now on I'M STANDING STRONG!๐Ÿ˜›
  15. Hey Manpower what strength is a green stretchy rubber thing that the use in rehab and PT at the gym? My former one gave me this, I'm probably supposed to be exercising with it, guess who hasn't. Yepper, little,me! I start a new round Wednesday, I am having trouble with my left shoulder area. Hurts so bad it wakes me up from a sound sleep. I'd,like to have,my,bariatric firstare and then have the shoulder fixed. I told my,ortho it would be done before September or I'm Mary Queen of Scots. I don't know when. but it just can not ..go on much longer. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

    Fear of Chickening Out

Hey Stacy, I was looking around the other obesity type web sites today. I have thought and my PCP does too because it's on my,print-out I get with each visit that I had a BMI of 47, this other one calculates me at 49. Shoot I am losing although very slowly, but having it jump 2 points when I've lost 30 lbs from my HW, makes a gal want to sit down , cry and give up.You,were talking about these "chicken hearted thoughts" my latest is that God,Mothet Nature or Father Time has placed a curse on me and that's why I can't have my,surgery any sooner๐Ÿ“…. Gosh it's getting harder to see, everybody, passing me ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ’–by and. making it to the Surgical Finish Line. I am starting to feel๐Ÿ’– like the, perpetual Bridesmaid, helping. every one else to get ready and I'm on the sidelines in my bridesmaid๐Ÿ‘— dress, that needs altered waving ๐Ÿ‘‹as they pass me,by,on their way to a new life. And nobody thinks to throw me the bouquet๐Ÿ’ Not sure if they take it with them or not, just know I didn't get it !๐Ÿ˜ฆ

    4/23! Surgery buddy?!

@Sprinkles1 I'm pretty sure your surgery is this week. Were you the OP on this thread? Because if you were then yours is not until next week. Ken the Bariatric Administrator convinced me Friday to install the new Beta version of Bariatric Pal on my Android smartphone. I am trying to learn how to navigate,it, I was offline for BP for over 12 hours. And I see now I wasn't the only one. He asked today for me to give him a review, I gave him both complaints and praise in it. Apparently Alex and Ken upgraded IOS in January or February, I hope Apple owners aren't having, problems again like me. Well I just wanted to tell you I've been watching your progress and I think you are going to make a success of all this. And I certainly are cheering you on!๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿšฉ

    Any April 2018 Sleevers?!?!

Some people have them, many do not. If your surgeon feels you require the drainage one will be installed otherwise, like most people you will not. FYI Back,in the "bad old days" when I had my gall bladder and appendix removed with an open right paramedian incision back in the mid 80s I did have a drain . It was removed the morning I went home I had been hospitalized for I think 5 days. Only way you could tell if you looked at my 5.5 inch scar is a slight widening of it. if you do have one it will be only because you really needed it. Only,3-5% do. Don't worry, about it!๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜ PS Be happy you"'ll have a laprascopic , they tend to heal quicker, easier and a lot less. painfully. And if I had to have another . open" it would still be okay, I'm a vetran there! ๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿšฉ
  24. I have had both, diagnosed.with GERD, had it confirmed per,2 endoscopies one in June 3015, another December 2017 am currently on Dexilent which my gastrointestinal specialist calls "the Ferrari of tummy medicine" It is,listed as a secondary comorbidty on my records and Medicare my primary insurer knows it.
