i have a Nutribullet, have used it to blend up my powdered protein shakes, mainly because I can add ice and and leave it a little icy like real milkshakes have. Have also made fruit based smoothies. Now I am getting a little more adventurous, how do you like adding greens or avocado. to them? I am the RARE BIRD who cannot add banana or peanut butter even the PB2, my tempermental pouch refuses them violently. So thought maybe those other things or softened and pureed seeds like flax, chia or similar might be good.

Why Do We Still Use Food To Socialize??
Frustr8 replied to Danny Paul's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh tell me You Didn't! That would be like discussing childbirth with Mother Teresa and the Holy Father, although Pope Francis has more a sense of humor than Pope Benedict, he was a pretty Striaght- laced Getman! -
😜👈😜👉😜LOLl!

Why Do We Still Use Food To Socialize??
Frustr8 replied to Danny Paul's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Because it has been such a central point in our lives, even socially, that we have had to develop and reconstruct our lives. Papa or MAMA got a Brand New Bag but even now it is hard to handle. I grew up in a culture where food equated love, you were a poor host or hostess if you didn't feed your guests And few if any are into Protein enriched shakes and such like me. So I have not socialized like I used to, the few times while they probably think I am starving or cancer-ridden, I am amazed the amount of crap they quickly stiff in. And once upon a time I was like that or WORSE. Yeah many do have joy socializing, but mou people didn't talk that much, too busy getting theirs before someone else could get it. Quite like lions or WILD hyenas at a kill. Only sounds are growling, snarling and a dolce- voiced" Get your fangs off that Impala liver, it's MINE!" At least that's my assesment of Social Norms Now! -
Anyone finally get their surgery date, panic and postpone the surgery?
Frustr8 replied to KarenLR75's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And I concur with my Bari- Bud AZhiker above. Almost identical except for being 10 years older and retaining my uterus, not that it did me THAT MUCH GOOD! Have had a couple surgeon's incredulous acts. One told his understudy doctor" I can't believe she is this obese and still gynecologically intact!" made me feel Dirty for retaining my innards. Needless to say I did not elect him Surgeon of the Year nor did I allow HIM to operate on ME! Stupid Excuse for a Doctor, let alone a surgeon. Didn't have to love him. but I couldn't even respect him or his advice! So I had the same pre- problems as AZ with a slight helping of people telling me YOU'RE GOUNG TO DIE ON THE TABLE, obviously I didn't, lived to be 99% happy with my surgery. Would be 100% but I have some issues, even after 9 months, that have not resolved. Would I do it again, knowing that I would not heal quickly and perfectly, Oh Yeah! Even with the blips, twists and turns, and all , it is More Than Worth It. Beats being crippled, sad, short of breath and defeated every day from continuing to live when I would be better off dead and only in people's memory. Now I do have a chance to live, to have a future even if I don't know daily how each day will be, I'm still going to find out, put a positive spin on it and LIVE BABY LIVE! And if I encourage others to stick it out until things get better, then I AM IF VALUE and I'll be encouraged too! -
Would " WILD MAMA- You can't touch this!" be a good starting tat and then you move on from There?

I clench my fists and want to pound Dr Now to a pulp. Told Tomkitten , " He' s an Old Man, that would not be very nice!" , pulled up his bio, He's only a little over a year younger than me! Does this make it a Fairer Fight? I would tell him to walk a few miles in my moccasins if they weren't so worn down! I think he is abrasive , snide and he would be my surgeon only on pain of Death, and Praise God, I have lost enough he never will be! I'm sure he would say 120+ pounds in 9 months was TOO SLOW, well guess what" Baby-cakes" it works for ME!

Mouse Cat have you seen the movie NIGHT SCHOOL with Kevin Hart? He pulls a form of this, I does backfire but in a good, I think, way. I saw it on Netflix, liked it so much I bought a $5 DVD at WallyWorld of it, so I would have it when Netflix gets around to replacing it. And it made me want to look for other Kevin Hart DVD and movies.

Lies to tell people about what surgery I am having
Frustr8 replied to a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah I do like the Passive-Agressive approach. Since I am a little farther North in the Midwest I would say similar to "If you will forgive me for not answering , I will forgive you for the poor taste in Asking in the First Place!" You really don't owe Anyone an Explanation! -
I'll do almost anything to lower my weight down, unlike" Meat Loaf", I will do anything and I will do THAT!😜😝😛

Orthostatic Hypotension

Your internal barometer has gone a little wookey and it is a MISERABLE THING! More deluberate, move sliw, right now you can't set any Land Speed Records! -
Maybe a little dismotility from all the intubations. Many of your body areas have no sense of humor when they feel they have been hurt too much. Yeah, I do hope time heals all things!🏆👍

Day#21---Gee I always thought Already I was God's Gift to the 🌏 World. Mama always said so, but She may have been a little prejudiced That Way! 😲📦😲Still smiling through my tears!

And Good for You and may it be Good For You! 👍👴👵🍀 -
I really wouldn't mind this getting older----- if my body wasn't taking it so badly!👵💦LOL

And for me t just doesn't seem to make a difference. And it is very discouraging, maybe I am better off staying away from solids, puree down what I can, And just stop trying to swallow the rest. Am I turning into a nasty person because I just don't swallow? I would try talking to my facility but. they seem so indifferent I am not scheduled for an appointment until August. And it is almost like a Monkees song, only difference I can see--- it's Friday instead of a Pleasant Valley Monday. Yeah I suppose just stay thrilled I have cracked the 200 pound barrier, but the days are v embarrasingly BLAH and SAME OLD- Same old. When does the feeling like Dancing in the Sunlight. Start?

And if anybody is remotely interested, plain water still tastes BITTER to me- is this something I must endure the rest of my l8fe?

Reactive hypoglycemia
Frustr8 replied to Jessibird's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Peach, do understand, THIS MAY BE AHEAD FOR ME! -
And I made myself sugar- free puddings or tapioca with stevia, used to like rice, but it balls up in my pouch, won't move on through so I Have to puke it up. And yes I do still urp and puke, very few days without it, I do not exceed the designated amounts, still happens. Just finally able to tolerate Greek Yogurt , it and cottage have always refluxed back up every since surgery, 2 other illogical things-Peanut butter, even PB2 powder, and bananas, doesn't matter how ripe they are. Don't try hiding these in smoothies, Precious Pouch knows and MUST have her way!

In my case, I firmly believe the Omeprazole therapy, in my case it IS NOT GASTROPROTECTIVE! Told them so before surgery , did they listen? Nope, just like spitting into the wind, not a satisfying conclusion! Both my Grandfather and my late husband's Grandfather had the same motto, 2 different languages, but exactly same meaning THEM WHO DON'T LISTEN, GOT TO FEEL! The difference- they didn't listen, I was the one having to feel the pain. And , oh yes, it does hurt! Spasms and when not actively spasming , an abiding ache, internally where you cannot rub it to make it better! Soups, vary the broth , vary the tastes if you can, season it a little if your tummy tolerates. Can't find. a taste you enjoy in commercial soups, construct and blend your own. Had 3 months of TPN myself, November 2018 through February 2019. Never been able to turn my back on Protein shakes, find a taste you like, I do Strawberry Ensure High Protein, the one with only 160 calories. Go back to plain broths if necessary, found after 9 months of Monkey- doodling I am beginning to loathe chick broths, so I do need or Wal-Mart Vegetable , not that expensive. I enrich all things not protein high with Genepro powder, not necessarily the best but I got a very good deal on it, had a coupon for it and Body Fortress both. And I'm almost always around here, 9 and 1/2months, lost 120+ pounds since surgery, story still being told, not sure what next chapters are going to be like, but I hold out optimism!

Low levels of protein and globulin in blood
Frustr8 replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Sounds like you're getting enough in, your body is having trouble digesting and assimilating it. There Must be surely a way to attack and solve this problem. If one kind of protein is not working maybe they can give you other options? -
Sounds good, doesn't it?
