  1. @MIZ60 you are going to many of the weight losers including me. My PCP and otrtho have told me You're 72, what do you really expect? So I told him about my imaginary person whom I have named IdaMae. IdaMae goes to her doctor She says "Doctor, I'm having a lot of pain in my right leg!" Doctor: " IdaMae, you're 84 years old, what do you expect?" IdaMae: " Doctot, my left, leg is also 84, it doesn't hurt"! And 1 more quick IdaMae IdaMae: "Didn't Doctor say I'd he on this medicine the rest of my life?" Nurse: " Why yes, IdaMae,that is correct." IdaMae: " Then why are there no refills?" May You have enough rain to nourish your crops, enough sunshine to brighten your days, and peace enough to sustain you today and all your tomorrows๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘
  2. Hi @iwanttoseemytoes Welcome to Bariatric Pal and are you by chance also from Ohio?
  3. Got Prolactinoma, my PCP loves to prescribe steroids, I am fat but gosh, I didn't plan the fatness, basically hate it since birth, mine sneaks up and gets me in the behind. My rump is wide enough for its own Zip Code, but I'm planning to go from full college dormitory down to small lean-to or shed. My problem is: what do I do with the leftover lumber and concrete blocks? Maybe I can sell some to those people with flat tushe-itis. Had a whole thing about their pants constantly falling down.๐Ÿ˜

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

And if any of you feel like doing missionary work, I'm over with the RnYers waiting and waiting also. The next chapter in the Frust8 Saga takes place May 24th when I have my trifecta appointment with nurse practioner Valerie, the dietician and the case manager, that day they set up a care plan tailored to me and I hope things start moving really fast. I want to be a Junie-Roomie with all of you. Keep getting ready and I'll do the same!๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘
  6. Hmmm a very interesting post. I agree with most of the assesments, disagree with some but then I don't have a dog in this fight, I'm widowed.
  7. @Vicki@60 I am very proud of you, Your Generation-Mates knew all along you were quality merchandise, you're going to do just fine with this all. Let all the youngins. see how a real lady handles things!๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ˆ
  8. I'm on Dexilant, my gastroenterologist calls it the Perrari of PPI, I'm not arguing, with. someone whose speciality is that long and hard to spell. If I didn't have insurance it would be over $300 at WalMart and that's the cheapest,in town . CVS and RiteAid, cost highly, more. They even have, their own Bible, verse. "Ye were a stranger, and I took ye in." ๐Ÿ˜ช Those 2 are out to meet their budget and more๐Ÿ‘Ž

    Approved!! Advice?

2 Bits of Wisdom 1. People don't fail, they give up. 2. You'll do what you have to do better sometimes than you thought you could. You occupy a very special place in the universe, you wouldn't be here if you were not needed.๐Ÿ˜

    Kidney stones

Gosh I wish I had my kidney text book but sometimes the shape of them is indicative of what variety they were. Ask your urologist or nephrologist but I think 1 is pointy and they call those staghorn, some are rounder and usually they can tell by color as well as laboratory dissection. Now where oh where is that blasted book?๐Ÿ˜•

    Any MAY sleevers???

Ms Hopefull Lisa- we cheer you , we applaud you, and we believe in you. Go forward with joy in your hear, peace in your mind, a spring in your step, and a smile upon your face. You are loved, treasured and important in our lives. Your Bariatric family will be waiting for an update when surgery is over, so no sorrow and sadness things will be just right. Bonne Chance, Cher Lisa!
  12. @YLime and@ALFxRNY, I am a little more excited today. Got an official letter from OSU confirming what I call my trifecta appointment with the nurse practitioner, dietician and case, manager, if I'm understanding correctly they tailor-make things for you, as an individual, to facilate your surgery. For some reason this consult costs me $25 cash because insurance doesn't cover this. Betcha I get a receipt, just,in care Medicare does cover it, and I'll get reimbursed. Don't mind that as much as the $200 I gave Mount Carmel. and they never returned. Cheap*** Lowlife Place! I may recant the cheap part, never the rest. I just love the part that it was on embossed stationary with the University seal and everything. Maybe I'm acting silly over it all, but I've been treated crappy so long I'm incredulous somebody treated me in a decent manner Maybe things are starting to turn around for the Frust8tion Kid. Dare I dream? Dare I,hope? I know inside I'm as good as everyone else and better than most, it's just the world didn't seem to notice. I was everybody's martyr for so long, to stand up on my own 2 feet and hope my legs don't buckle under the weight of being,my own boosters It's fightening and heady at the same time. It is hard to play your own kind of music, sing your own song, when your family, friends and the world in general have told you, that you are tone-deaf and can't care a tune anyone would want,to hear. But I will do it, If not here-where? If not now-when? There is no better time, no better venue than where I am now! I CAN, I SHALL &I WILL! This silver cougar has been wronged and keep silent too long. World๐ŸŒ hear me roar and roar loudly. Puma Power is MINE.๐Ÿฉ

What to bring to the operation?

Oh one other thing I'm taking, my stuffed rabbit who I have christened Roux -en-Y Rabbit. Yeah a little water from the Holy Land , relative went on one of those Get Holy cruises. Back in the Bad Old Days of all open incisions, ready for a little FYI? Most people if they have an "open" have what is a subcostal, a diagonal directly under your right ribcage, very sensible, yeah? I had to be different, I had a right paramedian, right to the right of my belly button, maybe 5.5. inches in length. Now I am an allergic soul, sneeze a lot, cough some with asthma. You don't want to do either without "splinting", this term means you press a pillow or something soft against it so you don't feel like you're going to bust open. I took my kids stuffed tou,a chicken called what else "Chickie". He was a wonderful friend to me. Now that was34 years ago and I have no clue where he is. So when WallyWorld had their Easter clearance I invested in a soft fluffy rabbit just the right size. I may even label a onesie with his name so he's dressed for the occasion. Looked up future surgeons 2017 record, he did 600-700 surgeries personally, only 1 open. I will remind him though, if he can't complete it lap he has my permission to do it open. 1. I want it that badly, so don't stop now 2. I already have 1 visible scar, so what's 2 there? At 72 and with the criss cross scars from 3 9lb babies, I'm not going to be wearing bikinis 3. I healed from previous open just fine, I set a precedent, I'll do it again. This is my third attempt at winning the Weight Loss Rodeo, I want the Verdompt Blue Ribbon And I want it NOW! So bottom line, what will yours truly bring to that operating room ME ME ME and that had better be sufficent!๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘‰
  16. Sounds lovely, how about say 1/2 a ripe peach? Learned back in my earlier baking days a tiny bit of almond extract enhances the taste of cherry๐Ÿ’ or peach ๐ŸŠpies.๐Ÿ

    Apologies

And whether there are truly rabbits in that rabbit hole or has that burrow been taken over by ferrets and their weasel kin. They tend to kill by ripping open necks and shredding your carotid artery. You bleed out very quickly that way. Fascinating what one learns when you live more than a few decades๐Ÿ˜ฃ
  18. Good Luck Aussie Liz, whatever surgery may come!๐Ÿ˜

What to bring to the operation?

Most of the premoistened mouth swabs are lemon-tasting at least in my part of the world. If you loathe lemon, you might get a supply of little pink foam tipped swabs, the local independent, pharmacy stocks them. If your hospital is playing Hard***. they usually do provide a mothwash, use it with your little pink swabs, if nothing else use plain water.I used to sweat everything stinky I had ate the week before was in my dried out mouth. Yucky poo poo!๐Ÿ˜ŸBring slippers or scuff type shoes, those floors are hard (easier to keep clean) and those six they issue you, they might be fine for short trips to the porcelain throne, but if you walk very far, and we all know they encourage "walkies" those nor skid bumps hurt to walk on. One frequent poster on BP bought a cheapish set of bedroom slippers, threw them in the trash when she left so she didn't bring home evil hospital germs. SO comfy loosish clothes because you want something easy to get on, you don't want your bare bum shining under the hospital gowns and your tummy with its multiple little slits is going to be tender. phone, charger and maybe a 3 foot extension cord in case plugs right close to you are in use Chap stick, your lips are going to be dry, try to crack and also, if you get a tinted slightly one, you look prettier. All the other suggestions above are good. I am a die-hard writer so I'll. probably take my journal so I can write all about it,I only plan one of these bariatric funfests. Anyway please report back to us how everything went. Right about now you may be wishing someone could take your place, tell them to call me, I have been waiting FOREVER! Alex and Ken have my E Mail, address, I'll answer all texts! Your Impatient future-patient Bud. ,,Frust8๐Ÿ˜

    Any MAY sleevers???

Jules and Taoz you Aussie girls are such neat buddies in this Weight War. Love your postings. Was laying on my bed, 9AM and I confess I'm listening to one of Australia's nicer products, Men at Work. We have a saying in the American West, if we really fancy a chap we say " he can put his boots anytime under my bed" well Russell Hitchcock for me sure could. Sure he's older, chubby and white-haired, ah that voice melts me into a puddle of warm chocolate. Yes I am allergic now to real chocolate now but if he sang "Making Love out of Nothing at All" to me I'd walk blindly into a shark-infested ocean. Absolutely no problem whatsoever! Ah enough of my misplaced lust. Now up to eat my oatmeal porridge with 1% milk and face the day. Taoz your cauliflower cheddar soup sounds absolutely luscious, but then I do like cheese. Fluffy Chix keeps preaching, about it being fat-laden maybe it is, doesn't keep me away. I love Gouda, I love Havarti, I love Cheddar especially. I even like limberger. Viley stinky stuff, few people admit to eating it, let alone relish it, well I do. Started eating it when I was a tinier person. Slather it on rye or pumpernickel bread with sliced onions. If you eat one of my sandwiches I promise to eat Vegemite without flinching. Yes I have tasted it, one year at our Ohio State Fair New South Wales had a booth, probably to stimulate tourism "Down Under". Well they had brought jars of the stuff, the bloke behind the counter said "Try it, Aussies eat it like you do Peanut Butter!" nobody could accuse me of not being game, especially when it comes to food. Usually tried to convince people I come from a long line of winter hibernators until somebody pointed out I'm not a bear, I don't require this layer of fat. So I opened my little mouth and swallowed a heaping spoonful down. Hmmn, maybe if I'd eaten it frequently as a child? He laughed so hard I thought he was in danger of wetting himself. Said, most Yanks try to spit it out, do I have the figure to have abstained from food? I probably don't need water wings, I'm buoyant enough already. I might even eat witcthy grubs. know that is not correct spelling but for once this phone didn't correct me. I have maintained all along English is not this phone's first language so I am sure Australian English really mystified it . I've started recording my diet in My Fitness Pal, guess the bariatric staff wants to check what I'm eating. Yesterday I took in less calories than I burned, can I do equal today? Well to,paraphrase an old song "The is young and I'm so beautiful" guess we'll see how it all goes. May skip a regular meal today and implement a protein shake. Better find tastes I like before I end up relying on them. Ta Ta I'm off to the kitchen, trying to avoid the fridge and pantry. Keep Posting, I get a thrill hearing about your preps -!makes me feel a part,of it all and I yearn to soon join you both.๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿ˜œ

    Newbie

And I can add another, similar but not the same. The journey of a thousand miles starts but with a single step. Sorry Brother F Gump but the ancient Chinese said that many years ago. Good Advice transends the ages. Plant a garden of peas. Positivity, persistence, passion. planning and enhance. And embrace the possibilities. Tain' t easy , the strong good things in life seldom are. But you can do it, I can do it and together we will rock the world!๐ŸŒ Some days it is awfully difficult for me, I am old (72) and arthritic, natural inclination would be to lay back, do nothing and die. But no, I am working towards a RnY, taking those small steps to complete my own journey. Why now? Well I am sick and tired of being sick, and tired. And if not now, when? I no longer have years to explore other options, been through the diet wars, they banged and dinged me around, were faithless associates, but I'm still standing and moving forward. I don't seem the traditional round peg in this perfect world scheme, but guess what? Even square or oval pegs have their, place, and I may not work so bad after all. I've been fighting this battle uphill since Summer 2015. A lot of twists , turns, up and downhill like an amusement, roller coaster but I'm going to my,finish line and so shall you. It will be worth it, believe you me, if it was not I would quit a long time ago. Take my hand if you're scared, no shame in that game, but let's run toward the finish. It's right ahead, put my bifocals on and I can see it. ...........One, two Yippee Skipper here we go!๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ‘‰
