How did you decide on your goal weight?!
Frustr8 replied to bookworm1983's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well let's see, ex-surgeon settled on 134 at 5ft8in. I would like 175 and a size 15, see in reality I am not a,potential misses size, what I am is an extremely large,over-sized Junior clothing size. For my bill I do not have over-sized mammary development. My girls are very very fine" girls" but they are at D going quickly down to C. Most hefty honey mammas have F,G or higher. If they made them i would be currently a 27-29 Junior size. Juniors are traditionally 5-15, occasionally you can find 17, Montgomery Wards made 19s, that's what I wore at 195 and 21 years old. That was when I was young, in love and would rather look in my sweeties eyes instead of eating. Truly I would accept anything below 200, sure I'd be overweight to mildly obese but at 72 I'll never be slender again. -
lose your weight you'll,be cute and cuddly, like a tiny Teddy Bear, instead of a big bad grizzly bear.๐ป

Weirdest coments you've gotten since WLS
Frustr8 replied to TakingABreak's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Someone told me I had lost weight and looked thinner, I would have taken it as a compliment, except the only real difference, was I finally, had shed my winter jacket. ๐ช -
Oh sure I do, has your mom sent you any Cheryls Cookies, used to shop their retail store in the French Market. Funny about that place, there was a large pretty courtyard with a lot of very nice shoppes around the perimeter. Had a wonderful Gyro shop there as well. It was quite the shopping destination in the 70s, expected it would be there forever, went there more. than Eastland, Westland and Northlake all of which are pretty defunct,as well. Anyway there was also a beautiful. bunch of townhouse apartments as well as apartments over top of the perimeter shoppes. It was called the Continent, pretty high price rentals. Well in the years since we went and moved away many stores left, the apartments remain. but they are attracting the wrong part,of clientele. A year or so a man held his ex-girl friend and their children hostage, before the police could defuse the situation he shot, and killed the mother in front of the small children. The hotels that once cartered to families, traveling and vacationing there became hotbeds of prostitution, and several have been boarded up. Guess I lived in a neater sweeter time in Suburban Columbus.๐ช

I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)
Frustr8 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Sounds oh so familiar. I currently have gastritis and Hector, my little bitty ulcer, as well as the ever-present GERD. Dollars to Donuts you have gastritis, I went to my gastroenterologist with exactly those, symptoms. I was sure I had an ulcer, well,i do. Had an EGD which proved it. I am currently on Dexilant, the Ferrari, of PPI, it would cost over!$350 at WalMart, the cheapest price in town. RiteAid and CVS would be completely out of bounds, luckily I have insurance, my co-pay is only $3,60. But this One,of the reasons only a bypass will do for me. Ok Had a cousin die of esophageal cancer at 68. She died on the operating table at Cleveland Clinic, not a lovely, way to go. I miss her still. She went from indigestion to Barrett's Esophagitis to Esuphageal Cancer and,it seems, like it didn't take very long. RIP June-Ellen,i so miss our fun times together!๐ -
Yeah I spent a lot of time,in and around Westervile. When my k8ds were little we,lived across from Sharon Woods Metro Park. While my daughter would be at school I would load the baby,in a stroller, the older boy in a Gerry backpack and we would walk the road ( Shtick Road) into,Westerville, shop and walk back home. I was in my early-mid 30s,and saw nothing wrong with that. Now there is so,much, busy traffic on that Road, Cleveland Ave and Westerville Rd, it wouldnt be safe. But this was 35+ years ago. ๐๐ท

Little Green getting little(r)
Frustr8 replied to Little Green's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hope you are getting well-organized for the upcoming surgery. Boy it has been a time since you started by this time you'll be able finish it all. -
So glad RapidFirePickle that everything went so well. Now get healthy and heal and then make it home safely.
-
Well it could be done in Sturgis, of course you might wake up,with a biker tattoo, the operating technicians would be a biker gang, But Sioux Falls sounds like a credible location, and I m sure they will,do fine by you. I will have my surgery, a RnY at OSU.in Columbus Ohio, when- only God Knows

Congratulations Dubbs it couldn't happen to a finer critter. Where will you be having your surgery? Now that you have an exact date, you can finish getting ready for the big Day. Boy you have such a short time to wait, that's next Monday. Please remember to update us when its all over, okay?๐

Hi. leea, I just answered you on another posting but don't be scared or anxious, you've got me as well as another bunch of people on Bariatric Pal. Things are looking, probable,i will be a June Bug Bariatric patient too. We will make it through together, so take my hand across the miles if you need to. I'm friendly, kind of a Momma Hen at times, pretty calm and loads of life experience. You feel sorta old to be doing this? Don't I'm even older than you, I'm a 72 year old widow, have 1 son who lives with me, a daughter who lives 610 of mile from me my code name for her is RD, short for Rotten Daughter, she talks or texts me once in a blue moon if she's inclined. An example I tested her that one of her high school classmates had been killed, if it had been me I would have called my mother ,her grandmother, right then. She waited until, today to text back. Every family has one of those, I unfotunately gave birth to mine . My remaining son is now an angel, he died at 31 10 years ago, he had a undiagnosed congenital heart condition but what actually k8lled him was a ruptured aorta, he bled to death internally in a minute maybe a minute and a half, the world is much poorer without him , he was a wonderful son, a wonderful young man and his brother and I miss him still. That was January 11 2008, on the 4th of July 2012 my husband and the kids dad died after 44 and a half years of marriage. John had just turned 70 on March. Every 5 years we have lost someone in my side of the family, 2018 should be that year again. I'm an only child,i have no one else to spare. My parents my Daddy in 1993,my Mamma in 2003, all my aunt's and uncles on both sides, Daddy had 11 brothers and sisters, Mamma 7, all gone. I cannot stand to lose Bryan my baby, he feels the same about me. Still he does support me seeking my surgery, he knows it is my chance at a future life, he won't stand it the way. RD she sadly doesn't care too much, I called her to tell her about because she was my firstborn, first she changed the subject to herself, when I tried to tell her again she said Whatever, so I said Whatever right back to her and gave up.Its like being the mother of a monkey, a whole other species. Well I've chattered on long enough but lets be friends okay? I'll try not to be so boring the next time๐

well it is a good idea, I'm sure your doctor's would prefer, you have a responsible adult with you. What I have suggested before andI will again. Do you live near a nursing school,at all? Now I have been on both sides okay. Call up said school and ask if possibly a student nurse could be of assistance to you? Okay once upon a time I was a student nurse and I would have loved a chance at this. Okay you're getting ready to go home. Your hospital nurse will say On,i see Miss Smith you are single and you live alone, will you have, any, help? You will say why yes I would like you to meet Melissa Maxwell, she is a student nurse and will be helping home and settled in. At this point, Melissa's little chest, will swell with pride. 1. You are introducing her as a respected professional ally, tell you a little secret, sometimes graduate and charge nurses scare sudents just as much as they do patients. Okay,Melissa accomplies you home,i f you need her to stay that's okay you work that out among yourselves. When all this is done, be sure to write a note to,the Nursing School and tell them what a help she was. Give you an example My name is Saundra Smith, I recently had bariatric surgery on May 20th and received the assistance of one of your student nurses Melissa Maxwell. She was polite, asisted with my trip home and made sure I was relaxed and comfortable. She acted in a very professional manner ,and was very kind. If I ever, need such assistance I will certainly ask for someone else from your school, I will also tell all my friends about how great you have been to me. Yours sincerely Saundra Smith This nice letter will go into Melissa's record also. In a few years when Melissa graduates her future employer may ask Well what experiences have you had that would make you a better than average new nurse? Melissa will have this letter to show them. 2nd point her stock with the school went up because she did this job and did it well 3rd point This school is serving that area, postive feedback about how good the school and it's students are , they like that loads. it's a win-win situation for both of you. Just a suggestion from me.

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!
Frustr8 replied to BurpeeZombie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Going to be a good month for all of you๐ป๐๐ป -
Has Dr Matthew Weinet have any new videos on You-Tube? I've seen the others repeatedly.๐

You go reading labels, and it can get scary, look at the ingredients above, This is the stuff everyone says is okay on a diet, corn sugar and Equal both in it, a lot people get headaches from Equal family, some do from Splenda, what's an unsuspecting bariatric patient to do?๐

What can I do with...cottage cheese?
Frustr8 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
How about putting in sugar free, jello, and when set cut it in squares? I've done this with lime, orange, cherry. Used to add,Mandarin oranges to the orang , would work good,if you're presurg or have made it this far on re-adding foods.,๐ -
So whats new my June Peeps? It gets closer with every day.๐
