Ward clerk looks up at Sarah, panting, blowing and gripping the armrests for dear life and says "And what are we here for today, dearie?" True but I think you can and will do fine. it is going to be a win-win for you.
  10. An excellent idea, you want to be as fit, as healhty, as committed to make the baby idea,as you did,for weight loss snd,the surgeries,it took to achieve. And as much, the Nay-Sayers will put you down for pregnancy about 40 as they did when they heard you wanted surgery as apposed to trying even more fad diets. Don't listen to them, this your life and your decisions. When I was a miniFrust8 and was still in school, yes back we had dinosaurs instead of school buses my classmates had parents of varing ages, the ones whose, parents were 35-40 at their births were happier than to ones with a 18-20 year gap. The ones parented by people your age knew Mom and Dad loved and wanted them extra much. AMy parents were 30 and 32 when I was born.they were mature to be parents, not, just willing,to shunt me to one side while they went to have friends still, run around acting like teenagers. You will fine, a wonderful, parent,to future baby boys or baby girls. The only thing more important then me approve it. and support this idea, is that You have enough love and belief in yourself. Good luck and happy parenthood when it comes.

I'm sure your surgeon will order an EGD, most bariatric surgeons in the US do, and suspect,Canadian surgeons do too, Okay, with an EGD you go to sleep, thry, put a fiber optic tube, down the eosphagus, through your stomach, and, into the, beginning of your small intestine. Sounds scary, it,is not really, very smooth and entertaining to watch a video of. Actually the YouTube videos of sleeve and bypass are much more a upsetting thing. While, they are down there they do a good look'around, take biopsy samples ect. I had one,in December. 2017 by my gastroenterologist, the second in my lifetime,my first was June 2015 by a general surgeon. This one went smooth as silk, my doctor was gentle, skillful and didn't even make my throat sore, the g s in 2015 really did. Both times I got a report with color pictures of different area in my gi system. I'm telling about this because you probably will have a hiatal hernia, 85% of us do, also possible they will find signs of GERD many, obese people do, and if you do, congratulations, you have your second comorbidity and insurance might cover things after all. If not, well you were prepared to,pay already. My results moderately severe GERD moderate sized hiatal hernia small gastric ulcer, notready to perforate My baby, ulcer, named Hector, was not, from h. pylori, which causes a lot of,them. Hector instead was from excessive use of NSAIDS. I have, had osteoarthritis since,i was 25, also have R A but haven't had a flare recently. Common for me to take 4 or equivalent,of Advil, every 4-'6 hours. Well,it tamed the pain down to a tolerable range, but,now I am paying for it. We,keep,Hectot sleeping, with Dexilant, the,Ferrari of PPIs, would cost $350 monthly, without insurance and that's at WalMart the cheapest place in my,town. CVS and RiteAid would be out of sight. So maybe,in June I will have,my,bypass surgery and be able to lose and sustain weight loss, which I can't do now.

    Unsupportive mother

Well it is not an easy situation, you see,i am a future surgery, person, was a daughter and am now,a,mother and grsndmother, yeah all rolled, into 1 morbidly obese package. And I can see all sides. When I was a daughter: You are.perfectly fine the way you are, you're just a little chubby(no I was FAT) it will kill your Daddy and i if you go ahead with surgery and die. How is that for guilt? As a wife and mother : No you're not going to have surgery, stop thinking only,in yourself, you have children to raise. More guilt! As a grandmother: Memaw/Grandma, 2 girls, 2 different titles. Why do you want to do something silly, like that? You're old, you'll probably die anyway, that will serve you, right! Grandaughter#1 Memaw I've got, nothing to wear when you die.Are you going to be buried next to Papaw or are you going to be buried with Great grandma and Great grandpa? Grandaughter#2: Grandma I'm in college, I don't have time to come home for a funeral. Besides Mommy says you're being selfish and silly, shes right! Mean while I do have, the support of their uncle, my son. sHe understands this is good for me, the right thing for me, he is upbeat about it all. If he's scared for me he hasn't said,so. Indeed, when I think this is all too, hard, he cheers me on, says you're not too old, you're plenty healthy enough, you're my best friend and I love you so much. You're going to be just fine & I'm proud of you.๐Ÿ‘จ&๐Ÿ‘ตgoing towards surgery ๐Ÿ˜ทsoon!

    Airport security issues ?

Not going to happen, staples are titanium, a non allergic, metal, doesn't normally show,up on Airport Scanners, only,in cheap movies,of,long ago, would there be staples that would show,up,there. Modern doctors in Mexico, US and Canada don't do things that way, they take pride in their work, think of the bad publicity as well as giant lawsuits they would have. Nobody is going to feed you, barium to diagnosis the weird shape of your stomach, it will remain your little secret. Feel better?

Does sound a little odd, how long, have, you had it? Probably, should check in with your surgeon, hopefully something can be done. Good Luck tomorrow with the call.
  17. Frustr8

    Non Scale Victories

I've had something odd happen, well it seems odd to me,maybe a mini-NSV? As everybody probably, knows I am currently in PreSurgeryVille, been living here so long my name should be on the mailbox. Okay, although no one instructed me to, I've been replacing one meal a day, with a protein shake 1. To get used to them and, maybe find a flavor I could put,on my in-laws shelf in the pantry, yeah the same one where the pretzels, chips(crisps to the UK) crackers and cookies used to live. 2. Hoping I'd lose a skoosk more weight so that my new program and also myself could feel I'm trying. Think maybe it's starting to work a little. My problem: the only place I can see a diminishment, My wrists and firearms are visibly thinner. Dang it, that is NOT where I planned the loss. So I asked Tomkitten, my son and primary heir to my miniscule fortune, to,look and see,if my tushi e was looking any smaller? He tried, bless his๐Ÿ’›, circled me twice, like a human. Cat Scan , then grinned and said "Nope, its still there!" Are my efforts going to be in vain? Am I going stay more or less this size? I have even been to the gym twice weekly for PT, you would think that stretching and marching around like I'm Meredith Wilson, looking for the 76 Trombones he misplaced would have some effect. I was grateful, everybody else was so busy they weren't watching,me buff and puff along. So am I going to lose weight in my nose and cheeks next? I want this backside to shrink, before somebody slaps a election poster on it, thinking its a billboard.

Heather you can count on me in the cheering section. For various reasons also it has been an almost 3 year battle for me also. Things are looking up, I may see a June Surgery shining in my future. First consulted with a Bariatric Surgeon in August 2015. But I haven't and won't give up, many reasons, stay my friend and I'll,tell you some of them. Even wrote a poem yesterday , you can find it on Surgery-"its the easy way". feel free to,look it up. Welcome again!๐Ÿ˜
  21. Slightly in a similar vein, I've had acquaitances, since I, have been telling everyone I'm going,to have surgery, start circling me. Last one who did, I asked them" What are you doing?" he said "Well you don't look much different,to me" Do you suppose it's because I haven't had surgery yet?๐Ÿ˜ฃ

    Intimacy / mental health / pre-op thoughts

You know seeking Bariatric Surgery has been a good thing,in my life. I gave,me some grooves guys and gals on here, reading most posts brightens my day, I don't feel alone in this endeavor. Although there are other Buckeyes on here, there is nobody I know of in my town doing this. I have 2-3 casual friends who were sleevers several years ago. They are in the background cheering but I don't seem any of them that often. The nearest,Pal,on here is in Zanesville, maybe,60-65 miles SE of here, to be,honest I think,i only heard from her because I was looking for a Mid-Ohio,Bariatric Chapter, there is no such animal. So some of my support comes from on here, you people can understand where I came from, where I'm planning to,go, and why a decision was made for surgery. And if I hit a bump or roadblock in my path, someone here all, iunderstand where outsiders just can't. And occasionally I'm able to help a newbie as I was helped by veterans here. And my depression is leaving, I've overcome my blue dunks and am regaing my,metal health. Bariatric Pal is a ๐Ÿ’ฏ percent win-win for me. ๐Ÿ˜ And I'm not scared because I won't face my surgery alone.

    Need advice...trail half marathon

So do any women ever do these trial half marathons? Doubt I ever. run๐Ÿƒ one, with 2 artificial knees, but if I๐Ÿ™† could even walk๐Ÿ‘ฃ a quarter marathon it would be very cool. At my point in life it would rank somewhere btween bucket list and impossible dream, but it beats all hollow the thought of draining a keg or a cask of wine., doesn't it?
