Happy TGIF! Come Celebrate Yourself (and Friday-mostly Friday)!
Frustr8 replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Lambada si, Limbo no, too much spinal issues. Its only 13 days, less than 2 weeks to my next appointment in,Columbus. Will it be" Hi nice to greet and meet you" or "brace yourself, here are the rest of your labs and Xray forms, when would,be convenient for your surgery?", which will it be? Sure I would perfer the latter but que sera sera, I'm still in it to win it, and I shall, even if I have to be a 1 woman picket outside the front door. Watch the 6 o'clock I'll make the national, David Muir and Lester Holt will be saying " Now what is SHE up to?" I will not go gently into the good night(sorry Dylan Thomas!). -
You are, my dear Baribetty, still gentling mourning the loss of the old status quo, but you're moving ahead๐ฃ one trembling step at a time into the future. Oh it is going to be a great future, sweet bright and sunny but remember to release your grip on the past to grab on to the future๐๐

Wowsers everybody, thank you thank you for the raw and factual updates. One of the TV evsnglists late MIL watched, don't think there was one she missed " Now,reach out sister and claim your victory. Yeah grab a hold of that sucker and grip,it for dear life. Now holler Amen" right about now he would say if anyone had $25 he'd be right proud to take it off your hands and I'd bellow from the other room " sweet mother maggie, are you watching, HIM again?" Ah sweet sweet memories. Stay cool, don't drool and escape when you csn!๐๐น๐๐ -
Be sensible but still.....? I've been plotting my own, what I really, want would be chicken-fried beefsteak, a little mashed potatoes, teeny bit of gravy off the meat, I alternately, bake,in the oven with musroom enhanced gravy., garden peas with baby pearl onions and strawberry shortcake with dollop of whipped cream on top and finely ground pecans on top of that, yeah a whole 2000,calories probably there. What I really might do- Dave's Double from Wendy's, no fries just the sammmwich.

My 600-LB life the Perrio siblings
Frustr8 replied to Yo-yo girl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well let's see how I interpet it. The eldest, she was the one who set everyone and everything in motion. Branded had the most health issues, and that brother, grr! Came with the sisters but hates the idea of putting all his plans on hold Its like inside he's rationalized " He I'm not all THAT bad" yet Dr Now says you get your surgery. Tomkitten(my son) is laughing at me because I'm hollering at the TV" That ain't Right" that's episode 1, I got to know what comes next, hope it's On Demand status. Better be, when I start lobbing, grenades,Spectrum is high on my list. Wonder whether Proudgrammy or I nliw them up first? Specrum is like that obnoxious brother in law you want to choke but he's not worth going to prison for. Otherwise since I missed last might I'll check when its next scheduled.๐ -
lobreezley I am sure, there are several other Mile High Staters on here. Of course I can't remember, dang it, who they are. I'm in Ohio so not too close, but even somebody in Montana or Wyoming or Idaho?
-
They might also put you on in addition sucralfate, no more coffee, minimal or no citrus, possibly, tomatos, peppermint and Spivey foods. Maybe no pork like spareribs. You might have to check, with a gastroenterologist, mine pit me on Dexilant, he called it the Ferrari of PPIs, Prilosec, Pepcid did zilch for me.Dexilant without insurance tuns $300-350 a month if I didn't have insurance.. And it hurts as bad as gall bladder pain.
-
So,lobeezley where are you located? There are people with unlimited incomes,me for example who is on Social Security or have kids etc who will, be thrilled for the opportunity.

Dang, Anthem BC/BS finally, came through for you! So do you also have a surgery date given? Or,Oh No, you have to wait somemore-' this time for the surgeon's office and/or hospital . You either are going to have your hair turn gray or you will be bald from tearing your hair out by the roots. Well you have the right person talking to you, I started on my journey in August 2015 and it isn't over yet The old joke was: it ain't over until the fat lady sings" well I AM a fat lady and I haven't burst into song yet, in fact I haven't even sat down at the piano๐น yet. La la lal!!!๐๐ต

Fishbonz I feel it may also hinge on what your favorite was. If it is Apple Pie with 2 scoops of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and you just had a bypass-NO NO NO If your food to desire is a medium rare nicely, grilled T-Bone, maybe eventually. But a funny thing will happen, a few morsels of it will fill you up, If you are a "veggi" instead of cookie monster like I am; one to three gently cooked brussels Sprouts, ymnn But you will have time to relish, to taste each food you eat. For it is definate you will no longer longer be able to,mindlessly, bolt, food down. Ever since I was a mini-Frust8 one of the things I headed for at Thanksgiving and family reunions was candied sweet potatoes/yams. Imagine my surprise the first time I nuked a sweet potato in my microwave? Hey it tastes mighty fine like that and I don't need the sticky gooey candying any more. You will chew each nite slowly and completely and suddenly you will find " Hey this is what it really tastes like!" And once you get all these techniques that you will learn perfected you'll have time to,have dinner conversations, you'll care less about the amount of food you can load on as the people and surroundings where you're at. And your taste buds may change, what you think tastes good may not then and you may develop an appreciation for a new flavor or taste. Let us known how things go for you, but it will be a interesting experience.

C-section pain vs Sleeve pain?
Frustr8 replied to FingersCrossed18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Taoz maybe they made your soups with "natural or organic" MSG? I get the feeling people don't listen too good. I'm getting, more vegan, more natural and, unprocessed as I grow older, okay, so this is a story from the past., Decided to make" Johnnie Marzetti " for supper this particular day. Used my own tomatoes, onions, mince from when my cousin last butchered, homemade noodles I had made, my maternal grandmother had taught me to make, them before she died when I was 8, never had a failure making them. At any rate made a big soup tureen-full. I always cook, like I was expecting a guest or 2 to drop in, the joking name we have around here is "cooking for a threshing crew" I suppose an Aussie equivalent would be enough to feed sheep shearers and the Prime Minister too. Went out to the garden , picked enough greens for a good salad and had it ready too. Although late hubs was a devoted potato, eater he didn't get any this time. Family sits down and digs in. Older son says "Mummy this is soo good," yes I said "everything is fresh and home'made, nothing from the stores". And of course that's the way it always should be, but sometimes I've gotten lazy and used parially processed things but you know, you can taste the difference. Happy to hear, you and the loo reconciled your differences. Now,keep things smooth easy and moving along, you'll feel better that way Have a good evening and give the little ones a kiss from me ๐ -
