Question About Preparing for Post Sleeve
Frustr8 replied to Awesome1981's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
2 posts make the advice twice as nice! -
You didn't really ask me , but I'm weighing in. Usually found when you have an Endoscopy For me a knowing that doesn't stop, full or empty. I also have pain in my pouch , like a Charlie Horse internally, although my doctors would argue thins I think I detect a puffiness over Precious , my pouch, last time I mentioned it the resident said it was impossible, she's buried farther down, not on the skin surface. All I know is: I feel what I feel! Besides he only helps form them, I LIVE WITH IT. Plus I have thinned down there below my breastbone. Also pain/tenderness in the right subcostal area, subcostal means " under ribs" perhaps you might want the. translation. I get used to calling things by their medical names. You Upchuck more than you want to because you're swollen inside and food doesn't always pass through readily. How do I know all this? Experience , I have been fighting this war since last October, a month/6 weeks past my RNY. The last EGJ showed healing well underway. Okay, got to show off now. As bypassers, we no longer can have EGD because they no longer can access the duodenum, the 1st part of the small intestine, this the sacrifice we pay to have our type surgery. So we are Esophageal- Gastric pouch- jejunem which is 2nd part of small intestine and the part now attached to our pouch. Marginal means she has ulcers just before the opening or just after. Our acid production got cut way down with surgery, but there is just enough to make an insult to our pouch/ jejunem. And although there is usually protective mucus layer in our stomach, poor jejunem didn't get built that way and the minute amounts still "chew" on him. I had as many as 10 in my intestine as well as the ones in my pouch right before the opening. And swollen also means narrowed so I still am on puree, soup, broth and protein shakes. Seems like forever but only 9 months of my life, for the Greater good I will endure through it! And you didn't ask but I have lost 120+ pounds since my surgery, multiple clothing sizes, and I am still losing, one of the few people who never stalled, like an old jalopy I just keep chugging along , slow and steady and pounds going away permanently.

Imperfections but your enough
Frustr8 replied to debra102364's topic in GLP-1 & Other Weight Loss Medications (NEW!)
BAD NEWS IS: You can't really control others. You cannot make people like, love, understand, validate, accept or be nice to you. GOOD NEWS IS; It doesn't matter for YOU are not here to improve them, YOU are here to improve and motivate yourself. And in the final analysis YOU are the important one. -
A moment of respectful silence for all the times we had a perfect hair day and no one seemed to notice.💦😧

Suggestions for chewable Vitamins?
Frustr8 replied to texasnewf's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I used the ones from Bariatric Pal store until I ran out, then reverted to my caplet Prenatal vitamins. I have a humor-type one for you. Just once I would like to read a medication that says WARNING: May cause permanent weight loss Remove Wrinkles Tighten up loose body areas Increase Energy Levels. And What a Wonderful World that would be! -
Orthostatic Hypotension
Frustr8 replied to mousecat88's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You know MouseCat we live in the wrong Era. We could have swooned into the nearest man's arms and they would regard you as a tender flower to be gently nurtured. Yeah we couldn't stand it constantly , but once in awhile? Yeah Baby Yeah! -
Gastric sleeve and Herniated discs
Frustr8 replied to Green1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Bet you may still find some, all the weight we once carried will and did take a toll. And like a lot of other things in our life, the note just fell due, and it may hurt to pay! -
Lifestyle changing new food discoveries

Apparently you have to eat healthy more than once to get I to shape. This is both cruel and unfair. I Do Protest, but someone will take a firehose to me to shock me into silence. And I'm still Big enough that I will make an excellent target! -
Hey Krista, LIFE is not over, with more commitment you can still make it THERE!

OMG. Guess I'm a statistic...(backsliding)
Frustr8 replied to marfar7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
She felt sorry for all the broken cookies so ate them first? Oh but now she has reformed and she'll look good at Reunion Time. Don't know what number this for her but last year was my 55th, a month before my surgery in August 2018, they all saw the unreconstructed Frustr8, just wait until 2023 when they will see a smooth sleek Silver Fox Lady ( although my hair has NEVER GRAYED). I am going to be Dye-no-Mite, and I will be a force to be reckoned with! -
I use Wellesse liquid calcium, I get it at my local Wal-Mart, runs $5.99 and tastes like an Orange Push-up Sherbet treat. Don't distinguish any chalkiness to it as long as you shake it up well!

And N.Y. Elizabeth, that is both a Lofty and Achievable Goal. I will be cheering you along every step of the way! I started 52+, now I am 31.1 after a little less than 10 months & I am 73 years young. So you can come close to my record or pass me easily. I have faith in YOU but even more important YOU need to have faith and support YOURSELF, for this Will Be Your personal struggle and ultimate ✌victory!

Green , Herbal or Decaf Tea. Also try the Protein Waters chilled or my favorites Propel (Strawberry-Kiwi) or Nestle Splash ( Acai- Grape) plus don't stop doing an ounce, 2 oz tops with your baby medicine cups every 15 minutes. I still often do it THAT WAY, even at 10 months nearly. Will be 10 months July 5th, lost more than 120 pounds, a bunch of dress sizes, the size I am now is the size many Bari-pals start out at but I started with a 52+ BMI so I AM PROUD OF ME!

I would like my body as thin as my patience and my hair as thick as my thighs. Nobody said THIS would be EASY but I swear I heard it SOMEWHERE!

What are your favorite excuses?
Frustr8 replied to Supersecret's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isn't it, just! I still like mine "I will forgive you for the audacity of asking such a personal question if you will forgive me for not answering!" Which is a LONG WAY version of "None Your Beeswax, Baby!" -
How many have had insurance cover PS?

And take pictures even just on your Smartphone, documentationion goes a LONG WAY toward proving it has an effect on your life, not just a Vanity Surgery! -
Keep smiling😜, even though sometimes through 💦tears, it will self- limit, not heard of a single person going bald👴 from weight loss although you might feel a bit mange- ridden for a while!

Gastric sleeve and Herniated discs
Frustr8 replied to Green1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No I doubt it, but with weight loss Your CENTER of BALANCE does change, maybe that could put extra strain on your spine and that made them herniate. My bottom thought- you are now being closer watched health-wise and it was noticed sooner. This is what I keep telling me as my specialists and PCP keep finding things, hopefully in early enough stages they can be taken of. I think every test recently " Oh by the way, did you know you had____?" and I'm going Hunnh? Oh well, it is what it is and I'm going along for the Ride Through Life!
