Instead of worrying about leaving your 7 year n old think I of how,much healthier a parent you are going to be. You are showing your 7year old when you have a problem you don't foldbup, you tackle,it, you get it fixed and you move on. I have a Delta Downs t shirt I won in a limerick contest 6 years ago. If anybody wants to know Delta Downs is a thoroughbred racing trade,in Western Louisiana but still close,enough to border to be Houston Texas. metro area. When they told me I was a winner I ordered as,large a shirt as they came. Alas God, heredity and hormones plumped me up bigger than it is. Oh but soon and very soon the shirt and I will have a meeting and it will slip on and fit! Power to the Plump Princess who is going to become Ms. Truly Fitbit,someday !👕

My little ears perked up when I heard you were or are there. Where will you have your surgery ? Are you,private pay or going through National/ Provincial Health Schemes? We once had LesleyBari who lived in the Rockies close to Alberta nut was flying to Vancouver for her surgery. Many have wished to visit the Yukon for its wild country,Me, my dream is to someday see the Peace River country for,myself.That was my romantic dream as a teenager and it still lurks in the back of my mind.

Like Matt Z I will have the Rube Goldberg rearrangement,of my gastrointestinal plumbing. Weird that I will be asking a Turkey Egg to take over a Football sized pouches function. It is elective mutilation but one I earnestly desire. It will help,fulfill something. starvation, diets, exeercise and will-and-won't power didn't. I am adding to my arsenal one final tool, I pray it will be enough for I surely intend to work with it so I have a future with life and life more abundant. I believe in my surgeon, he will work for my ultimate good. Dr Needleman may be willing to be my ally but in the long run it will be all between Mr Pouch and me.😛

Nope you get gathered inside like the yoke of a Polly Flinders dress. Do they put those on little girls these days? My Sunday dresses all had slicked tokes until I put my foot down at 9 or 10 and refused to wear any more. Mama liked me dressed precious. White anklets, black patent Mary Jane shoes, at that age you don't worry,if they reflect up and little pastel dresses with smocking. There are pictures of me dressed to the nines either crossing my eyes or sticking my tongue out. You can be a dress up doll only so long before you rebel a little.

I do many of them myself at 72 if I'm nor kind to me who will be? That said, and you may doubt it if you wish, they still give your upper body a workout. And,you will be getting back into modified PE pretty soon to exercise that knee so it will become flexible soon. I honestly thought mine resumed too soon, but I perhaps were better for it. I still mourn the fact I couldn't be power forward on my,church basketball team, one thing my ortho said "No Mas" on, I also was a pretty creditable,softball/ baseball catcher,in my time. Now, even if I could hunker down my big backside would tip me backwards and it might take one or two handsome young men to,pick me up and set me on my feet again. So even if I am sitting down I use my power bands to help exercise. What you lose ability for, something else will come along. Life does balance in the long run!🎭😛🎭

Sad to say, doctors are,not always kind to depressive. The same group that Said to us while we were obese to stop eating, that we were lazy and not trying, now tell depressive" snap out of this, you are only doing this to gain attention!" When I have a flare of my own deorssion attention is the LAST thing I want, I want to curl up in a ball and hide.🌝

@bluehat, we have the same diease and a lot of us do. It's called WhoMe-itis, when someone complements us we say "Who,me?" like we can't believe someone noticed and cares. Smile and say "Why, thank you!" and you're going to realise you are worthy , good and you're finally as good to others as you always knew inside you were!😛💙☀

@ Brassapple no mistake, you are shiny. Remember our Basal Metabolism isn't in overdrive like these youngins, they are set on varoom, you and I are more like chug chug, we still are going to get there, we are in it for the long haul not" flashes in the pan". Keep on keeping on, do the right things the way Doctor,said you should. It is going to pay off, I swear we will have more stalls than they do. Remember your body was perfectly happy blumping along and then you had surgery and messed up,its happy self. It's getting its revenge by making you work harder for,it. But you are a class act and you are going to make it, no matter what else comes up!
