These stalls are no joke!
Frustr8 replied to Bryn910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well as long as the "junk" don't go back on the " trunk" we got a win-win situation.π£ππ£ -
And as a former. home canner often there are hidden sugars but also the pickling process contains an high amount of sodium ( salt) . MAYBE THAT IS WHERE THE SENSATIVITY IS AT?

ROFLMFAO you,are so so true. We give our former goodies, blunt our tastebuds with that slushy liquid diet, then when we finally add back in flavor,it hits our sleeping tastebuds so hard, things don't taste the same, and if our reduced gastric capacity doesn't slow us down enough evil nausea will. This is a game with no true winners for a while. And folks,i will start the Evil Plan August 1st, they drafted me for 2 weeks, I voluntarily signed up for,4 weeks instead. Rather like hearing I could be a humble foot soldier in the Army, instead singing up for the Navy because I could make Chief Petty Officer. Too late for a,moment of clarity now!ππͺπ

And I have also tried Monkfruit and agave, prefer Monkfruit of the two.

As the old carnival barker said You pay your money--- You take your choice--- Think about it, pray about it, consult your surgeon and his team In the long run the decision will be yours. Since there are seldom do-overs, unless sleeve/band to bypass, make sure it is a decision you can live the rest of your life with. I chose a RnY bypass myself but it is doubtful my reasoning would be the same as yours. Maybe that is why in the US insurance companies frequently mandate 6 months so you have time to think thinds over!

Questions about edema and general preparedness

Might be the same thing . Mama was visually impaired too. I was an only child, always suspected it was PCOS but maybe this? -
Surgery for someone younger than 21?
Frustr8 replied to GBori's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And also are you still on your parents policy? Some families still carry their children on there until age 26. -
Let me See---Have we developed a New Mantra? "Bariatric Surgery is more like a nap than a vacation or cruise. Pack Lightly!"

Invest in a long body pillow, Wal-Mart has them, suspect Target, Meijer and even Kohls might. Turn on your siden prop that upper leg up if you need to , hug that critter like it was a teddy bear, as the pain goes away tummy sleeping may start to return. A placebo surgery, hmm let me guess, you got those 5-7 slits because your bowels needed ventilation? Yep, that must have been what happened!ππ₯π -

Questions about edema and general preparedness
Frustr8 replied to LisaS67's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lisa, my own Mama suffered with that same diuretic hormone lack, I remember when I got old enough to notice she drank a whole lot more fluid than my friends mommy's when I would go to visit them. I just thought she was weird until she sat me down one day and explained, just thought she did it because she LIKED to drink and pee all the time.. -
Did any of you experience loss of appetite during 2 wk liquid diet pre-op?
Frustr8 replied to Luzbella's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
And I am following this thread with baited breath and a modicum of apprehension. You see I start my own prediet August 1st,and I ACTUALLY chose this length. My Bariatric program at the OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY gave me a choice of 2, 3, or 4 weeks. Why did I choose the longest? Better Healing Smoother Surgery To make it less stressful on ME Smaller Liver Size You see, although I have lost close to 40 pounds I am climbing on that surgery cart with a weight still over 300 pounds. On a 5ft8in 72 year old body that IS NOT a cool state of affairs. I undoubtedly have NASH, are you ready for his full name and easy description? Okay Here it goes Non Alcoholic Steato -Hepatitis. all it mean is "like my body, my liver is FAT" NOW my surgeon Dr Bradley J Needleman MD, uber-smart man, super skillful surgeon, and the chief of Bariatric Surgery/Metabolic Weight Loss at my hospital has a choice of a big fat blubbery liver or a nice sleek smooth happy slender liver to lift out of the way to get to my stomach, which would he and I prefer? I believe choice #2! Now the dietary plan, compared with many I have heard on here, is not SO BAD. Weird how every surgeon, be it a he or she surgeon, has their own take on things and their own path to get there. One lady I remember was on skim cow's milk and a gangoozel (one of my favorite words for a lot) of vitamins and minerals, there are some who don't even believe in a prediet and a bunch in between. Now mine, although it isn't as much fun as eating Willy-nilly is pretty Okay. So Frustr8 is signing on for a month of Dietary Purgatory, just like the Real Purgatory it takes a lot of prayer to get out of there! So while all you others are celebrating yours being over and surgery right around the corner, ME, the Brave Little Engine Who Could, will be chugging along in Central Ohio making her way towards a September 5th surgery, hopefully dropping pounds along the way. Vitamins, minerals, K-chlor, Lasix and Wellbutrin in my pill tote and Hope in Myβ€. Ah Folks, I'm going to make it, Yes I Am! Any dimishment of appetite, Glory Hallelujah! I'll Take It! βπππΆ -
Questions about edema and general preparedness
Frustr8 replied to LisaS67's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome my new friend and fellow Edema-mate Lisa. Like this 2 previous posters I too have lymphedema, mine was bad enough my surgeon lifted one eyebrow and Said" You are taking your diuretics, right?". And like @ Creek Imp and @ Mattymatt won this battle with SwellMonster with. Baiatric Surgery's help, I too hope to claim victory. I suspect mine is one part bad valves, one part the fluid is trapped at the thigh- pelvic junction by upper body weight. But I do have surgery upcoming in September, the 5th of September to be exact when I will have a RnY bypass, and will claim this victory with the others of weight loss. So let's agree to be friends, if you like I'll tell you more of my past life and future hopes. A new friend Frustr8. PS I HATE pressure stockings!π£ -
Did You See the Penny Saeger Episode on My 600Lb Life?
Frustr8 replied to FluffyChix's topic in The Lounge
IDK I find this very unsettling, perhaps after surgery and weight losses I will be able to come back and look at this with an unjaundiced unbiased eye. Right now it hits too close to home, eat as I say, not necessarily as I personally do,it I will sanction you because I have power and you do not. To me it smacks of an Evil Big Brother world. I am abandoning this thread, it innately makes me weep!πͺπ¦πͺ -
Should weight matter in a relationship?
Frustr8 replied to Numbheart's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And isn't IT Sad that we too are guilty of something we berate people, outside the weight LOSS community Judging people by the Outside Covering rather than their lovely soul and spirit within.πͺπ¦πͺ -
And Good Luck , I am HAPPY to meet you and wish you only the best in the future!πππ

One of mine is MNNM- "makes no never mind," this means it doesn't mattter, relax and move on DGGD Impolite phrasing for "that is of little importance to me" And one I'd like to see dmiok " doesn't matter Its okay" I repeat this to myself when I am self- critical. Relax, things do happen for the best!

When your surgeon deems it proper please start your proteins, at this point fluids are still utmost importance. And I doubt if it will be too fast, my surgeon, an extremely wise one who has been instrumental in training many other surgeons in Midwestern USA, told Tomkitten( my son and heir to my miniscule fortune) and myself he expects I will lose 20 or so pounds on my month long prediet and an additional 30 within my first month- 6 weeks of post- surgery. Wanted to reassure TK so he would not feet so much when I dropped THAT MUCH. If 72 more-or-less years of obesity hadn't done me in , his tender mercies wouldn't either. But after that I would slow down some, stall here and there like we All Do but he expects and is planning for a good happy weight reduction. Guess what, I plan it also. " And I look forward to joy in the future much more than dwelling on sorrows in the past!"

I found a protein shake on Amazon that has 40 grams of protein in each carton
Frustr8 replied to apositivelife4me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No but I found even my Bariatric program for the sainted Ohio State University does recommend that you may mix a certain protein powder( I believe it is an isolate ) with almond milk and still, have a drink within their guidelines. So almond milk mixed with some powdered still very fine. When I did have a 1st degree relative with casein intolerance, it might make me more prone to develop it also. ππ₯π Life is seldom as fearful as our. fears think it will be. ......a wise fortune πͺ..... -
VSG on 4/16/18: My journey
Frustr8 replied to TexasMommy80's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
We'll hold you to that promise, you know. Early 2019 isπΆtime for TexasMommy80, her Texas Daddy and l the Little Texan in her house. Just promise me they won't be Austin, Houston, Crawford or even Greg Perry, that would be too much, sorta like Lukenback with Waylon, Willie and the boys.
