Can you drink soy? If so that might be an option, more plant based. I buy some items at my,local health food store, Down to Earth. Have you checked the Vitamin Shoppe or GNC for alternative shakes. And in my state, Ohio, Giant Eagle, Krogers , Meijer, Target, Wal-Mart have good selections of items. Even 711,does, as well as RiteAid and probably CVS.And as a non-local source check things out at the Bariatric Pal, I'd go to Amazon last, why make that megalomania place richer? At least Bariatric Palcares about,Bariatric clients welfare.

You didn't write this to me, rather my,BARI bud Crazie,Connie but there are partcles of wisdom here I also can use.I am on the immediate glide path to surgery it will be September,5th, I know from my Pre surgery attempts to,lose, I have the BMR,of a depressed slug so I will also,be a S-L-O-W,loser bit even if I don't win speed,records I will still lose. Took me 6-7 months to lose 35 lbs from my high weight, in the long run it shouldn't matter if it takes 18 months instead of a year. I will be becoming thinner, more fit, more healthy and I wouldn't have that without this major surgery. So I still shall be a winner too.

Well I doubt I will ever become,a total gym rat, my 72byear muscles might rip if I lifted real weights, but,you,know I can improvise. I can go from soup,cans to V8 cans to a 5 pound bag of something in each hand, then a 10 pound and then, just then, I can go to 25 pounds? The sky,might,be the limit even for a near-geriatric broad. And I can cheer you real weightlifters, the bench pressers, I may be minor league in comparison but each clean and jerk I'm your God mother rooting at the edge of the gym.!😛👍😛

You have Swedish hair, well I am Celtic fair, pretty comparable, difference is your hair is straight , my has curls and waves to it, but we both are pretty fair. Reading your post and Sprinkles I can hear,what song,is playing. My surgery is,September 5th, this means somewhere between. Christmas and Valentine's Day I either will have a thin afro/halo of red gold curls or I'm gonna have the appearance of a very weird chicken trying her hardest to grow feathers,...I'll take it, I knit, I crochet, I have any number of knitted caps, I'll keep it trimmed short,until the new comes in. This I can do, what I don't want is obesity, pain, the sorrow of hardly being able,to walk, using a cane knowing I am scant stage from regressing to a walker,or wheelchair, because my 2 knee replacements keep,saying " Lady, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT US TO DO, WE ARE DOING OUR BEST! Hokay, as an example take today, and I would like to give it away!. I get,out of bed, my urinary system says " Keep moving, this could be embarrassing.: Of course my bathroom is in the opposite end of my living quarters from my bedroom. I get there just,in time after a fast waddle through the house, ah #1, blessed relief! Then my colon speaks up, he's even more peeved than the urinary system was. He stickers " You thought that 120 oz was enough to keep things moving along well? Ha, you let the kidneys take it all! Now you'll see,how efficient I AM! Go ahead and strain, strain all you can ,maybe I'll work, maybe I'll just hold to what I have in here! Haven't decided yet. "Yeah even my elimination organs are mouthy, wonder if Premier Protein or Adkins make a shake that has prune juice?,,Been using Miralax 3 times a week, maybe I should go to every other day, maybe every day? Squatty Potty here I come! I am needing to move these limitations into E-limitations, it's a challenge but ladies, I Am The Woman for it, you are winning your battles, can I do less? If i,end up doing,it half bald it will be a step up from where I am now

I am surely your sister in this, but we will narrow down soon and then we will be pinched and poked no more!

Some doctors think,obesity causes everything from hangnails to halitosis. They need course in Rational Thinking, Compassion and then someone needs to write them a Reality Check. Mini-rant over(for a while).👊

@ shoelace if my parents hadn't talked me out of emigrating to Canada in 1967, I very easily could have been your neighbour. But many miles traveled and much water under the bridge since then.
