Depression and Anxiety Post-Op
Frustr8 replied to hdbuttahz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wonder what % of bariatric patients suffer from anxiety, Depression And/Or Rage after surgery? 10,20 ,33 ,45, 50 or 75% of all of them? Does Age make any difference, or gender, or even sexual orientation. Is it irrespective of marital status? I am happy, looking forward to My surgery, anxious to start my new post- surgery life. What are the chances everything is going to change for me? -

How many days after surgery did you have your first poo?
Frustr8 replied to Naughty Glitter Goddess's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
A NMB Question, did any of you have to do a mag citrate cleansing before your Bariatric Surgery, or did the liquid diet immediate right before "empty" you out enough that your colon was squeaky clean.? Wonder if that has to with many days until I poo-ed group? .P.S. --of course NBM stands for Not My Business -
When did you start losing hair?
Frustr8 replied to ChloeSleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Maybe I'll need to wash my hair with the garden hose outside? That way I wouldn't clog the drains up! -

The Thrill Is Gone
Frustr8 replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It's like a traffic accident, you slow down and "rubberneck" . Oh you know you shouldn't, somebody just got injured maybe even killed, but human nature being what it is, you still watch. I suspect, also, if people watch they can't say to themselves " See I'm not THAT big!" I can handle things better than that" I wouldn't let a doctor talk that way to me, let a doctor act that way towards me!" Yeah a sense of superiority. And maybe as an appetite suppressant? Sometimes seeing how badly they wobble when they walk, it kills your appetite. -
Let Macy's live with the shame they inflicted on us--! DONT BUY THERE!

Why bariatric surgery wait times have nearly doubled in 10 years...
Frustr8 replied to Born in Missouri's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It's run as a money-making entity, not as a service and way to help people out of the pit of obesity and keep them from the slick slippery slopes of weight management lifelong. -
Oh No, I'm not going to give up and I'm not going to give out! I'm Too close to the Finish Line to Stop Moving Towards It!😛👍🌈

Top 3 tips for Managing Pain Post-op
Frustr8 replied to Naughty Glitter Goddess's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
God Bless you, my sisters, you are speaking to me today! These are just the things I need to hear and store in my memory banks. Like the story, oh yeah I always got a story: Grandma sitting in her rocker reading the Bible Little Girl: Grandma, what are you doing? Grandma Cramming for my Final Exams, honey, cramming for my Final Exams. Yep that's me, still cramming for my Surgical Final Exam! -
I don't drink, but I understand a little of your motivation. You were checking" Hmmn let me see if I'm still Tracy after my surgery?" And you body said No No little girl! You're still Tracy but you are a remodeled refurbished Tracy. That expensive surgery, it did something to you. Beer tasted yucky, couldn't stuff things in like you used to? Honey, the surgery worked ,didn't it? No more eating like a field hand, no more cowboy benders, no more just" one of the guys" Road house Ruby turned into Calm, Careful Claire and you're better for it. I don't drink but my own Ah Ha moment will be ahead. My grand-daddy and late Hubby's grand-daddy both had a saying, his in Dutch, mine is country English " Them that don't listen, gotta feel!" Very true, very tru!

Me again still fighting to good war and slogging forward to surgery Currently my favorite 2 brands are Premier Protein and Muscle Milk. I still have 1 container of Svelte French Vanilla and 1 Avant EDGE French Vanilla. those are soy-based, Premier Protein and Muscle Milk. Find myself gravitating toward the more funky/kicky flavors, So I have caramel and Peaches and Cream premier protein, Strawberry, Blueberry and Strawberry-Banana yogurt Muscle Milk. Of course chocolate variety are out because of my allergy, but I DON'T like Vanilla very much. Goes back to my baby Frustr8- hood, Mama Frust and Daddy Frustr Made a Lot of Vanilla Milk shakes. And Vanilla to me is uninspiring, it's Thick, White and tasteless. Guess I could throw some berries in there and blenderize the snarf out of it, but today I don't want to throw it in and take the stick blender to it., then have that container to wash. True confession- if I suddenly was gonna turn bad. And required eternal punishment , the two ways I would be tortured? Washing greasy nasty dishes throughout Eternity or working in Satan's Counting house and My drawer would never count it right! Good Thing I'm God's Little Lamb isn't it? Some days it's hard to keep my little sheep legs moving fast enough to keep up with the flock! A very good thing Jesus Christ is my Good Shepherd and won't let me. be hurt or injured any other way. After my surgery I'll probably head for bone broths and other savory flavors, I will be protein-shaked to my core. Still I remain grateful for This final opportunity to change my life for the better. I was fearful I would remain. sorrowfully obese, in pain, and seeing the Death Angel looming ahead. Told Sister Jean once I always wanted to be a martyr until I found out how rough the initiation was. Bet she wished I'd gone outside and played outside of tagging along with my Catholic cousins . But she had saintly forbearance and said I made them study their catechism better to stay ahead of me.A Win- Win?

Did you guys take days off from work doing your Pre-op Liquid diet?
Frustr8 replied to Lovely_Me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Didn't you feel weak and dizzy? I do, I am 19 days into a 4 week +, I try to fulfill my household responsibilities, work until I get dizzy, have,to sit down and rest.I am on a 1000 calorie-100gram protein-70 gram diet. Never was diabetic, except for obesity,i was judged in good health, passed all my specialist consults but I could no more juggle buzzsaw blades as to continue working,if I was still employed. I know every, person is an individual but there is something at odds here! -
Letter of medical necessity?
Frustr8 replied to sleevegirl88's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You would think so, wouldn't you? Let me tell you what happened in my town, this is kind of of a Peyton Place thing. Certain. doctor here was affiliated with a managed care system, not our local hospital as many in my town are. He committed a serious breach of ethics, he had an affair with a member of his office staff, yes he should not have done this, but facts remain he and she did. When they broke it off , he went to his priest, stated he had repented and asked forgiveness, after much consul, his priest did forgive him, of course told him never to do it again at the risk of his immortal soul, but he forgave him. He then went to his wife as did his lover her husband, if course they were, both upset at the breach of their marital vows but each was forgiven after the promise this would never happen again. Doctor then went to the managed care system, told them what had happened, asked for forgiveness, forgiveness was not granted. They fired him, legally barred him from medical practice within a 45 mile radius of this town. The final blow , he was informed, his patients were not his patients, they belonged to the healthcare system, he was to have no contact with them, let alone provide medical services to them. And he had practiced here for many many years. Sound impossible? No Baby, it happened, it really happened! And I have reported factually to you, not my own doctor but many of my friends were his patients. Not hearsay, documented in my local newspaper. -
The Thrill Is Gone

My son, to irritate me, turns to Hoarders, I keep telling him once I have my surgery, really start to lose weight, I will unload all the clothes as I "under-grow" them. Some,of them are old friends that served me pretty well, the rest kept me warm in❄ Ohio❄ Winters.😛 -
I just bet, they do, just feel sheepish admitting,it to all!
