Once I get a good loss I am going back into lady clothes where there is No Doubt. -

Frustr8 replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
10 more Days and counting them down Eagerly. September 5th is coming, don t want to be called "Square" so Baby,I Will Be There! Don't suppose my surgeon Dr Needleman is sitting home thinking about,me, but I am about him. Ragweed season is underway strongly in Central. Ohio, hope he doesn't sneeze and I end up with a misshapen pouch on the wrong side of my stomach, now THAT could,be,problematic. Just want an well-draining turkey egg with its dime-sized st9ma into my jejuneum. Don't think it's Too Much to ask! -

How many have lost more than the average?
Frustr8 replied to Separ1418's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
And like the line from an old Roger Miller song "You Can Be Happy If You've a Mind To" My dream goal 175 my Bariatric Table Goal 140, what I would really think doable -
Sad you had to go through 3 surgeries to achieve the results you desired in the first place. So happy you finally made it there, what a sad waste of your very, precious life and your times But live, becwell, be happy for your Future now#💕😛💕

The view from 'down there' (a ladies room post)
Frustr8 replied to dhrguru's topic in The Gals' Room
Ooo Looly I tremble in anticipation of him arriving. Saw in a recent article on Epitaphs "Here lies John Ezekiel Smith . His widow Abigail lives at number 13 Highmeadow Lane and yearns to be comforted" Perhaps I too yearn to be comforted!😛🌻😛 -
How Come We Never Look Like We Think We Look (Especially in Photos)???
Frustr8 replied to FluffyChix's topic in The Lounge
That's okay Funky Monkey, I contributed then and I'm back again. I wish my Bariatric Program has taken a picture,of me for reference in the Baiatric Clinic Waiting Room as I had my last Pre-Surgery consult next to the Signboard they have. Got Tomkitten (my son) to take some at home and I want one of me in my surgical patient gown and cap, just before I get wheeled away to the OR. With a blue surgical shower-type cap it won't matter that my hair is light ginger red aka Strawberry Blonde and The gown will be OSU scarlet and gray. And my REBIRTHDAY will be starting and I will never be the same! This is GOOD for the way I am now is not worth writing home about! 9-05-2018 and everthing will be made new! AND I CAN HARDLY WAIT! -
Questions before surgery
Frustr8 replied to MassMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey you guys I have got a question and Yippee Skippee I found the right forum thread to post it in! Okay I am in what my hospital calls" peri-surgical", I do have a fertile imagination but this is THEIR term.Made the trek over to Columbus for my Final mini-appointment and like Rocky I'm in "the final countdown. SD is September 5th 2018 7AM EDT. Got my last paperwork to go into my Life After Bariatric Surgery Handbook, now approaching the size of a small metropolitan phone book and one,to me crucial bit of information, is missing. I have been on a liver-shrinking diet since August 1st. Must be working, I have lost 13 pounds and I usually lose weight like a depressed 🐌, somebody said my BMR was pathetic. Okay now to my question- I see nothing about a clear liquid- sugar free Jello- sugar free popsicle- protein water diet for the days immediately prior to surgery, a bowel prep, just the standard NPO after midnight all surgeries seem to require. Relax and Count My Blessings? Not exactly, currently I am on every other day Miralax or MoM, to keep things moving smoothly. It may be a combination of geriatric slowing and iron- rich prenatal vitamins but my colons natural tendency has been to hold things, keep dehyrating down until I am sitting on Plymouth Rock. Haven't found a local distributor for Squatty Potty, Wal-Mart has either stopped stocking them or they are sold out. Can I get one with my Bariatric Pal points? Oh well, it was worth asking. I am fearful if I don't step back to clear liquids I am going to,March into OSU full to the brim with feces. Granted they will be only "monkey-doodling " with my stomach and small intestine but I am going to be an UNHAPPY PUPPY when my colon wakes up from its surgical slumber. BARI-pals if you were ME what would YOU DO? signed Frustr8 the potentially FULL -
ONEderland...blessed!
Frustr8 replied to TakingABreak's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Fabulous, encouraging, I still have to make it through two-fer-ville to get to one-derland, might tak a year might even take 18 months, I am 72 and have a natural Basal Metabolism Rate of a depressed 🐌, somebody gave me a 2033 reading but I'll make it. I would tell you to watch my jet trail but it's probably going to be tiny 🚝choo choo train puffs of smoke, but I will make it there. If you don't get,all bored you are invited to watch!!! -
You are where my Final goal will be. Thank you for the picture of what I might look like. I needed that Hope Transplant Today!

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion

Try Cetaphil to wash it, much more tender on sore skin. I had a baby with atopic dermatitis through into early toddkerhood kept having to go back to it when ventured away. -

Shoulder Pain After Hernia Repair
Frustr8 replied to MissyJake's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well back when we were embryos, yeah only a few intrauterine weeks old the nerves that were going to be for the diaphragm lived up in the future neck and shoulder area. As we developed and the future diaphragm descended the sensory nerves still thought they were up above still. This is why classic gall bladder pain is felt in the right shoulder one not in the right subcostal(under the ribs) area, although when my own was so swollen it pressed on my liver and the neighbors and I did have subcostal pain. So now as BARI- patients we feel the pressure and, pain from the blasted CO2 gas our surgeons love blow up our abdomen to epic sizes with in the shoulders instead. Not blaming them too heavily, if I were groping around someone's abdomen with tools, knowing a misstep, could be fatal, I dang well would want to see all I could. I,may joke I have all the tools, have watched enough bari-surgeries on You Tube to be able to,perform my own, but you notice I AM BOOKED with A bonofide Surgeon who doggone well all the proper landmarks , knows enough about the proceedings to have taught many young surgeons, and when all is said and done this time I am NOT THE LITTLE ENGINE WHO COULD , just give me my general, put me in a slumber and do it for ME. In the words of the Late Elvis, Thank You Very Much! -

Questions before surgery
Frustr8 replied to MassMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And to partially support the above postrr, my personal surgeon as assured me I shall have no catheter, so I will perform an ante-surgical mictuation, agree to void as soon as possible after awakening, at mid70s you are grateful for the portions of you still working well. I am far from from the youngest, may be the oldest on Bariatric Pal currently to attempt this, but I shall continue to do this with class, a modicum of grace, be the best Frustr8 I can be, have a good surgical experience, a great surgery which I can't help, but have with my Dr Needleman, a wonderful highly experienced surgeon, a glorious recovery and future life. May not always be easy but it will be My Journey and I intend to,make of it all it can be. All of you may watch, cheer me on as I reach each stage, and if I can help you as you have sustained and helped me, isn't THAT what life is all about? Your excited and hopeful Bari-Bud. Frustr8 -
Prayer! If you do not believe in prayer, do not click on this post..
Frustr8 replied to The Preacher's topic in The Lounge
Chiming in with my 2 cents. I can because I am in the USA where we have not abolished pennies. First I don't think Gastric Sleeve was the perfect forum, I am a peri- RNY person myself, I would have placed it in General Weight Loss but I do yield to Alex Brechlers wisdom as moderator and always will. The disruptive 2 people I shall seek, only to disagree with them. And I do move on away.from both. I am one of the people this thread. has and will continue to help. As I have stated I am peri-surgical, at a point where I am trying to de-stress, have a happy attitude as. I approach surgery in my 70s, a late, I concede ,point in life. If this gives me a modicum,of peace I am grateful for it. I have been on Bariatric Pal long enough to notice good posts seldom die, bad posts either are deleted or fall by the wayside. Let this thread stand on its own merits, those who do agree, find solace, hope for their personal futures will find help here, those who do not have the right to not come here or click on this subject. There are forms of WlS I would not choose for ME but,i shall never degridate those who made that choice or deny them their own forum. And the oldest( I think) current BP person has spoken her piece, okay? -
I would guess fairly soon but I am pre-surgical, well maybe peri'-,surgical. within a week so we shall see what we shall see, but hopeful for the best. You see I am already on Dexilant and heading for RNY but we shall see. I do remain in hope for lessening.
