Wow it is So So True! Had someone tell me other day " If I hadn't recognized your voice, I wouldn't have thought it was YOU! Did I get a half- hearted compliment? Still shaking the Old noggin about THAT!

I finally get why people dont tell others they had weight loss surgery!
Frustr8 replied to BlueAngelEyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Because you are showing maturity, you are growing away from being under her thumb, and she hates to see Baby getting on her own. And a little bit of she doesn't believe in You and Your success really happening. I can say this because I have been on both sides of the question, the daughter and the Mommy. And Oh you better not get me started on MY Daughter R.D., short for Rotten Daughter, she knows she is but refuses to make our relationship better. And I do still try to reach out to HER. Point in context: When I was about to have my OWN surgery I called her to tell her about it. Didn't plan on dying but since she was my 1st- born, I thought it Only right to tell her. Her answer: WHATEVER and then promptly diverted the conversation to how bad her knees were and how her surgeon would only do surgery on one at a time! When she finally paused for breath, I said " Did you hear ME? I will be having Major Surgery next week!. Her answer was" So What!" so I said "So What" to HER and ended the call. If it had been my Late Mama I would hope I offered to help anyway I could . Cassaroles, cleaning her house, helping my Dad purchase their groceries and on and on. The Difference? I ❤my parents and would do all I could to help if I Could. R.D. only loves herself, been that way for years and years. Both Grandmas spoiled her incessantly, and she still believes GOD asks her express permission before the Sun rises each day. She is now 50 years old And the most unreasonable soul you could find. Turned her over to GOD and Karma, let them handle HER! I ❤her down deep but I don't like her Very Much! ,,,,,,,Sad State of Affairs, isn't it? -
Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: 1 Year Check In
Frustr8 replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oops must have lost my Train of Thought or I fell asleep. The acid was trying to chomp a hole in my jejunem, see it doesn't have the mucus, protection of your stomach( although mine was no great shakes. That's why I came into WLS with Hector, my iddy bitty Gastric Ulcer). And your Duodenum has neutralizing things coming in like bile and Pancreatic secretions to protect things, bypassers come back in much more Downstream, something we have given up to have higher weight loss. As the Old Carnival Barker said "YOU PAY YOUR MONEY, YOU TAJE YOUR CHOICE!" And for ME I guess the choices back- fired -- Oh Well -IT is as IT is and I will make it through it all. Just still stuck on purees, broths, soups, protein shakes and Half the Vitamins and Minerals in the Western World! But I am Strong, Red-headed, I Don't and Won't Give Up, I'll be in Victory Lane eventually! -

And I didn't see ME on the list but I'm still out here too @ YLime, 10 months and 1 week past surgery, and I had be so special I nearly stink. Had A Stomal Stricture, multiple ulcers in my pouch and in Jejunem, the second part of the small intestine, where the pouch empties into. Although there is not the acid- producing critter it once was, but just enough acid to chew on my jejunm, try chomping until I x a n will8= -

HELP! Still can’t eat and constantly nauseous
Frustr8 replied to Kim36UK's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi it's Frustr8, at the worst mine was maybe 2.5, they have gotten me on several occasions got me dilated to 9 with the endoscopy balloon, but next time They have gone down I still was 2.5- 3, so I don't stay open. I have now had 13 endoscopies lifetime, I joke that I could almost do my own. Now the last one, I was told the jejunem was now fully "patent," that's Medicalese for open, be simpler if they would use Real People language, wouldn't it? But they didn't say how the stoma was, only that they were able to inflate the endo balloon enough to get on through. It now has been 10 months and one week since surgery, pardon me for a mini- whine but I did expect to be eating everything I wanted that would be good for me , albeit small portions. The Good Times should be Rolling by now, but I do feel slightly like the bus keeps running back and forth over me. I do wish I would finish being repaired, if not Please Admit I am a Gastrointestinal Cripple, stop giving me hope if it isn't justified. I guess I can spend. the remainder of life on liquids and pureed if necessary, but by all that is HOLY, would someone please be HONEST with ME! -
So Boldilocks, did you ever get evaluated or are you doing so good with surgery and weight loss that you may not need it done?

New here. Sleep apnea results negative.
Frustr8 replied to Goal_Digger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Fluffy S.F.It, just checking in again to tell you both Tomkitten and I will be having in- hospital testing on July 25th. I have lost now about 170 pounds from my HW, that's when I got my C-Pap originally. Now when I try to wear it I may fall asleep with it on, but seem to remove it while sleeping. So I am being re-evaluated to see 1. To see if it still is needed or 2, my OSA has relented enough after surgery that I no longer need it or 3. that it needs to be readjusted so it does fit again. When I got it in late Autumn 2017 I had big puffy chipmunk cheeks, now my face is angular, looking hollow in my cheeks, cheekbones very obvious. Do I look prettier now? Well that is up for discussion, but at the very least I sure don't look like the preconceived notion of what I once did. There are a lot of people telling me " If I hadn't recognized your voice, I would not have believed it could be YOU ! I now look like an older more weary version of what I looked like at High School 🎓 graduation. And yes, before I went through surgery and the ensuing weight loss, I never would have suspected I would or could appear like this. Now that I weigh at least 50 pounds less than Tomkitten , I no longer get hasseled by PCP, his new one is TK, told him " I would like you evaluated for Sleep Apnea, you do know it runs in your family! Your mom and her Dad were both diagnosed with OSA" Fine , said TK , but if I do I want you to consider recommending me for Bariatric Surgery to Mom's Surgeon Dr Needleman in Columbus. TK' s BMI is nearly 40 now, he already has GERD, another co- morbid would be putting him in contention even if he is Sub-40. So since I was scheduled on July 25th they scheduled him the same night, that way we both should get answers on this subject. Neither of our insurances will pay for home testing, so in- hospital it is! Please think positive thoughts for us both!!! 😝&😝 -
Anyone try bulletproof collagen protein
Frustr8 replied to Sosewsue61's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
OMG Thank you for the Info! I had just been looking over them at Wally World, think I'll save my time, save my 💰 money. Really hate crying POOR but I am on Social Security, Late Lamented had no retirement, plans, no retirement pension. It only stretches so far, lucky the gross amount of food has diminished since I have a hummingbird - sized pouch instead of the "Stuff it all In" original model, sure it still takes me a long time to eat but I am not any longer commited to eating All The Food in the Western World. Matter of Fact , nothing sounds exceptionally good, have to fight away the new compulsion. Now I have to force ME to take in enough food to keep my jalopy motor running. Do I need a Bariatric Psychological Mentor? Maybe, but I would have to commit to a 100 mile round trip. And I fail to see the feasibility unless They Were Awfully Awfully GOOD at what they do! -
