Aunt flo is killing me! Any advice?
Frustr8 replied to Real California April's topic in The Gals' Room
The confusion, messed it all. Its like putting in your money for gumballs and getting instead gravel. You're left standing and wonder--- What am I going to do with THIS? -
My friend says Like having a thorned rose Bush branch tugged out. Only one I ever had, was removed a week later, felt a swoosh like pulling a hoof out of mud or jello.

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!

Did you feel like you had the NEW Jersey Devil in your gut? Funny , that doesn't tempt me, although I loved it well enough before. Today what I am thinking about? A medium well steak with sauteed pertabello, crimini or another of their mushroom. cousins. But like a toothless Tasmanian Devil, I could tie in. But I would get no where fast! I just sit howling next to the serving cart!๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ช -

Higher calorie foods for gastric bypass
Frustr8 replied to greenlitego70's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Has anyone used Tofu as a base in smoothies? Also want to venture out with my tub of Greek Yogurt, the nice 0 and 1% percent kinds. -
Had Chicken Won Ton soup the other evening, of course couldn't eat the Won Ton, but the broth was so rich and tasty! Maybe when I am cleared for Eggs--- Egg Drop soup ? And my current favorite China Buffet soup- Hot Sour Soup. How Bariatric friendly is that? My local place does not use celery in their formulation although some do. A very good BariBud Ellie123 says I would like like Thai Lemongrass, she's been right about many other things. I am getting antsy to get off bone broths although they are good and sort of nice bases.๐

Taking Multiple Pills Post Surgery
Frustr8 replied to Heifzilla's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wake up now, Lovenox shot first, then Ditropan and Zofran. Both small tabs, if they don't choke me , on to Wellbutrin, still much smaller than M&M size, and then my day kicks into gear, if I make weak cream of whatever, will it stay down or will Precious Pouch rebel? If she does, we are NOT in to a GOID DAY! -
Surgery in 12 days...Do I buy things beforehand?
Frustr8 replied to Oct517's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
like MargoCL, I bought before, I also made a master list with multiple copies, and oh the lines through and additions, doesn't look. the same smooth paper. But you launch your, little boat, float where the current takes you, but remember to take oars just in case, never know when you might have to paddle free! -
And a Special Hug across the miles to both, no All 3 of you!

Sending prayers and a hug across the miles, I was an Early September, even with its trials it is SO worth it. Would never go back, I am many years older to have done this, can't say I didn't know about this, I knew, I just bought into the Too Old, Too Broke-down, No Surgeon would touch YOU and the most hurtful Move to one side, You are blocking a Younger More Worthy Person. But my Clarity moments came and I am so Thankful it was not TOO LATE for ME!๐๐๐

Teriffying experience blockage of food
Frustr8 replied to E.S's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
E.S. I haven't totally left you, hope we have jackets or at least vests for this organization. Be 3 weeks tomorrow, yesterday was first day Precious Pouch behaved like a good little pouch. Mixed up half a banana in my protein shake, need a little fruit/Miralax to keep things chugging through to the finish. My colon prefers to slumber away. Maybe not enough left to come through, maybe 70 year old lazy colon, maybe need to go to MoM instead or in addition. Bad when you think Did I Go Today or Not? God did say " This too shall pass" but I suspect He was referring to life trials not๐ฉ -

Glory Glory, in a week it may diminish? Goody, now I doubt I could get a potential date within 5 feet! Son says Aw Mom, it isn't that Bad, yeah but i bought a a spray bottle of Poo-Pourri just in case. -
Me too, I also had a 5AM check-in , I live 50 miles from my surgery hospital, left,Mount Vernon at 3:30, even with road constructs made it just right, checked in, first surgery of day, surgeon checked in with me, brought oodles of anesthesia and other specialities that were going to be present. See I am an over-age (72) specially wonderful type person, got treated like I was fine China. Had minor blip, my place requires 2 car no loading drinks in the time immediately prior, one at us night before, the other 2 hours before checkin, too much talking, not sipping en route so my blood sugar was marginally elevated too high, lowered in 15 minutes, and we were off to the races. First OR cart I ever ride no wobbles , no veering into walls, I once was State Tested Nursing Assistant, know how they are to drive. Dayum, I think, they got some cool equipment HERE! Okay a little loopy thinking but I felt GOoD! We get there, room warm, I have been in ORs you would swear were in a Siberian Swamp. Nice place, a little bright but didn't hurt the eyes. My su4geon was at that point 10 feet away but waved vigorously. Now that might sound. a little babyish, but gave me peace I wasn't being sacrificed on the altar of science to strangers, First OR table that fit, previously always felt I was going to overshoot and land on the cold cold floor. None of this yanking Arms out to each side and just waiting for crucifixion nails. And there was my head anaesthesia guy Dave, he just asked" are you comfortable, and called me by my fist name. I remember saying Yes Thank You Dave and the next thing I remember I was in my patient room waking up. It was 10:30. maybe a quarter to 11, missed recovery room entirely in my mind. And I was not fat, blown up with CO2 gas, my tummy was as flat as always, okay haven't been totally flat for years, but you catch my drift. IV in place, an O2 prong in my nose, but I felt fine, like waking up at home. So I am a curious soul, I snaked my un IVed hand under, no ABDs, 1,2, 3, 4, 5 little steristrip dressings, actually I had 6, one in the navel I didn't know about, no dizzy feeling, pretty scene out window and LUFE WAS GOOD, no urinary cath, Yippee Do Dah, Dr Needleman had not left me worse for wear. Would I do it again? Yep I would. although no one needs 2 dietary pouches. But definitely right thing, pkace, time and surgeon for me, Man knows his craft perfect! Lost 15 pounds on liver-shrinking diet, 18 pounds since surgery, and I am 3 weeks post Wednesday. And a totally of 55 pounds down since my highest weight, oh there is still twice of me than there should be, but a year or 18 months, I will be a lean keen Frustr8 and world prepare to have the Casbah rocked!

The losers bench can be a strange piece of furniture, but it was constucted of our hopes, wishes and dreams. Not Victorian, Chippendale, not even Danish Modern, but most feel it fits them very well. So kbridge and MMME come on down, we are saving a space for 2 here!๐

Can we please talk smell!?!?!
Frustr8 replied to fmellnick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
fmellnick, I too am almost 3 weeks post, armpits especially left, onion, garlic and something else. And my urine has an odir, that I don't know how to describe, upped my fluids, all I did was make me do more but the odor did not stop. Ketosis, medications, at first I thought anesthesia but getting late for that. Kinda like a unwashed urinal but still a quality it's own. Finally get to go to urologist Friday, 2 Friday's he hasn't been in, was about see a partner except I want Dr Clemens congrats, he has been a" go get your surgery "cheerleader. If he is a good boy, I'll model my 6 little scars, well 5 , you can't really see my navel one anymore, kind of involuted back in. I just wish the canvas would start to dwindle, fear I will have a panni to worry about , still it beats dead, besides I HAVEN'T GOT A THING TO WORK TO MY FUNERAL! Guess it doesn't really matter, I won't be here to worry! -
Please Help! Bypass vs. Sleeve Which one to Choose?๐
Frustr8 replied to xxtrinaxx's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
it has been wonderful, my surgeon was great, did not leave me bashed, a little gashed but they are now healing well. At 72, I was afraid I would not. My only problem was Precious Pouch, she was very tempermental but today I am happy to report she has been peaceful, my soup did well as did 1/2cup of cottage cheese. Last week she was playing Elevator Lady, "everything going up!" but I think she has settled down. It is a new experience, but I am So So Happy! I fought for over 3 years, past You're Too Old, You can't Handle It, and my personal favorite You are not worth My Time, the last from a previous surgeon, Guess What it turns out He wasnt worth my Time instead. I found a better, kinder, technically superior surgeon, and Pfft to Dr Malcontent, -

Doing fine but one came through unchanged, since several are the same size I will forever wonder which it was. An no, I did not keep it around long enough for an in-depth interview, it just went bye bye down the River of No Return!โโ๐ฉ -

Does anyone feel pressured by surgeon to have the bypass (instead of sleeve)
Frustr8 replied to Mayastone's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope when I told my last one and the creator of Precious Pouch, he approved, think he thought I made the correct choice. An FYI, I had absolutely no gas, not then, nary a root. You don't suppose he did it FreeHand, do you? My liver was nice, smooth and small, but surely OSU uses CO2 gas? Maybe they extract it back out, because my belly was not the least bit blown up. Wonder if they took pictures, I would LOVE to see a video of ME.๐๐ฒ๐๐น -

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
Frustr8 replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I just ordered my 2nd order from Bariatric Pal store. First time was 2 days, everything nicely packed, arrived in perfect condition. And I ๐the meltable B12, ordered another months worth. I have a horrid time ordering, I AM NOT A CHILD OF THE ELECTRONIC AGE,i am bicycles and tape recorders and knock knock jokes and almost everybody kept their clothes on. But between Monica, the sales professional at Bariatric Pal Store, my long-suffering Son and myself, we got her done and now I am getting updates on my email. It is working its way out of New York State, maybe Pennsylvania, wide state but I'm betting Wefnesday, Thursday it will be here! LIKE CHRISTMAS AND MY BIRTHDAY IN SEPTEMBER!๐๐๐๐๐ฐ -
