  1. I am 4 weeks post op and still feel very flat. I work in extreme temperatures and the heat really gets to me now. I can drink around 3L of fluids a day (90% water). But have peed dark since my surgery and can't shake it. From what i have read i take in more fluid than most do at this point of post op. Really struggle to stomach food too. I hope it gets better like it has for others
  2. I am 3 weeks post op, have lost 18kgs and slowly getting energy back. My concern is with my urine. Since surgery i have had dark urine, sometimes more fluorescent from multi vitamins, but generally almost orange, and it has a strong smell to it too. I have been very good with getting my fluids in and frequently drink more than 2L a day, but i can't seem to get clearer urine. Any suggestions other than dehydration? I don't believe it is all hydration because i have sat there between going and just went nuts on water and it didn't change colour. Please help, I'm worried it might be more sinister, anyone in the same boat??

    1 Week Post-op

Well, 10 days post-op and have lost a further 7kgs. I feel a lot better, with the gas pain almost completely gone. My issue though is with my urine. I sip on water all day, but my urine is still always dark! I thought it may be the multi-vitamins, so i stopped them for 2 days to test the "waters" . The colour remained dark. I don't know if it is just part of rapid weight loss or not? Any suggestions?
  4. Am i allowed to use a ventolin inhaler while recovering from surgery? I am day 3 post op from gastric sleeve and i have developed a cold and very tight weezy chest as a result. Can i use the inhaler to open my airways?

    1 Week Post-op

I am 3 days post-op. Mostly the experience has been positive. Beware of gas pain, it really is excruciating when bad and pain medication won't help it. Follow the pre op diet to the letter also; it is important that your liver shrinks to avoid getting bashed around during surgery. I lost 7.5kgs (16.5lbs) in my 2 week pre op diet, it was hard but mentally prepares you for change also. I wish you the best of luck.
