TreeMystic posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I have my surgery on April 3rd, On the pre opt diet it's hard but ill survive So I've had 5 major surgeries in my life chest cracked open and others. I tried the sleep back in May but had scar tissues from a lap band and he wasn't able to do it said come back in 6 weeks, well i thought i'm not ready for round 2 just yet . Tries to lose on my own again, fail 15 lbs then thats it. So I found a new surgeon, anyways now I'm track to have it. Well , i guess everyone thinks you been through many surgeries it should be a breeze. NOT! I think i have anxiety because i know all that goes into it recovery and pain. I've been reading all the forums and seeing others experiences , allot not to positive to be frank , some are . Anyways looking for little inspiration and support today. -

TreeMystic replied to TheFlinstones's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
HI, I am having mine on April 3rd. I started my preopt diet today. this will be a long week before i have it. I've had many surgeries so that's not new. But many new lifestyle changes will be new and learning how to eat differently . my husbands sister had it 8 weeks ago, and is doing well lost 50 lbs so far . I'm getting out some new clothes i bought to keep me focused of all the new clothes i will be able to wear again! Good luck -
Yes I started my preopt diet today also. not much food for 7 days, i guess we do the best we can to stick to it. i'm sure i might eat a few more vegetables to fill up and protein shakes. My husbands sister had it 8 weeks ago and she's a nurse practitioner. She said just make sure you don't cheat on sugar and carbs like bread. Just eat the vegetable carbs on the plan add alittle more if needed for hunger and no fats. Some info Good luck

I'm set for April 3rd, starting to feel a little anxiety but I think it's the food as a emotional crutch. But Going to see a therapist to help with that. Overall, I know this will be a great choice for my overall health! Good luck to everyone

it's the anesthesia that is causing the major headache. I took excedrin migraine or just caffeine in some coffee. Good luck -

Thank you everyone for the impute and support! -
BUMMED! well i went in for my sleeve on the 8th they did surgery just not the sleeve. they came in and said to much scar tissue from a old lap band that was removed 7-8 years ago. He still a surgery and did remove all the scar tissue so it's still stomach surgery then he said he could do it in 6 weeks. Still on the clear liquid diet even after no sleeve surgery. Over Jello! Anyways has anyone else ever had this happen? I'm not sure now if I want to go through another surgery in 6 weeks everything all over again. Still processing this. It has been such a long , long journey then to get woke up with news like this.

Looking for a May 10th surgery buddy
TreeMystic replied to starbuckslas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is tomorrow! I've just tried to stay busy and only drinking water and lemonade, now the jello and protein shakes and broth was unappealing to me. and I had some issues. I found as long as you don't smell the food i have no real crazy hunger. Happy about that! I'm ready and will look for everyone who is having it this week in the forums to see how we are all doing. -
This is so true I'm glad it was posted and other people respond . It's a process of learning to work on all the food related emotions food events and also sometimes with our food eating partners. This is my experience to, my husband and I met on a hike over 10 years ago. He had lost 100 lbs and i was 65 lbs thinner then I am now at 248, and I still had weight to lose then also. As time has went on eating out and other things getting comfortable the relationship thing.. He has put on all of his weight and so have I. He is very supportive with my surgery tomorrow as a matter of fact! He has lost 40 and it will motivative him just last night he said he's going to juice again . I think when we have eating partners with weight problems it can be sometimes harder for the person not having the surgery because there happy , eating partner is gone and that part of eating together in different ways is going to change. So they have their own emotions and to feelings to process. I think once she sees you making the lifestyle changes and losing weight she will either start to eat like you and lose it on her own or possibly consider the surgery. Everyone that is around family ,friends etc will have to adjust there emotions and feelings as they will not be used to the new look of you. But I hope the health part is the thing that they will understand that this is for your over all health and wellbeing on every level. We all love food me too! But food is fuel and and the potions here in this country and probably others is way out of control. I'm so excited to start to feel better again and healthier and be able to do more things and also not worry. Every time we fly I'm paced in like a sardine! Flying is the worst when your overweight. Good -luck you will be fine we all have some food grieving to do.

Good for you! It's nice to feel good about yourself again in cute clothes. Keep up the good work!

Need some support from people who have had the sleeve
TreeMystic replied to TreeMystic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes I'm on liquids toady and tomorrow only 2 days I guess I'm lucky! Although I don't like the bone broths or the protein clear drinks. Just popsicles and jello and water , and vitamin water. I feel bad for the 2 week plan, liquid diet people I guess it depends on the doctor. Some on hear say they can do all protein leading up to surgery. Better to have a easy surgery. -

Hi I'm scheduled to have my sleeve next Tuesday May 8th. I start my liquid diet on Sunday next week. I've been reading a lot in the forums, I see great experiences and also regrets. Looking for some advice and positive experiences as I get ready to have this done. I have had a lot of surgeries in my life so having some some nerves, but I can't seemed to ever lose all the weight so this is my next step. Any advice , some experiences with other peoples sleeves would really help me as the time is approaching . Thanks Anyone??- 28 replies
