Weight Loss Pre-surgery - doctor required

Do a cleanse with mag 7, ballerina tea, or any other cleanse you like to use that should shed at least 5 or more pounds. Then I did about 500 -1000 calories a day (fresh smoothies help) and did hitt cardio wrapped up for 5 of the days. Also water fasted the last day and a half. This helped me drop 14 in a little less than 2 weeks -

I'm approved now waiting for the scheduler for a date -
They did give me one on a low setting if need be go to another sleep doctor because the first one I went to had the same response that I didn't really need it. I also have hypertension as well.
-
The same thing happened to me where I wasn't woken up during my sleep test but I still had mild/moderate sleep apnea which counts so you should still be okay.
-
I was just submitted to insurance today I have Molina through Medicaid in Florida. Does it really take 30 business days or what is everyone's average approval time.
-
This is the last step I have before my paperwork is sent off to insurance and I have completed two sleep studies. One without the mask where they determined that I have sleep apnea and the second one with it and I was told by my advocate I need a clearance from the pulmonologist but the doctor will not sign off on that form until I've been on the machine for 30 days. Is there any way around this? I'm ready for my surgery and this is all I need to do now.
-
thank you I will check each week because it is the pulmonologist requirement before he signs off on my clearance.

Tinainjax replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost at the end of my road to surgery I finished my 3 months of visits and a lot of other stuff all I have left is my ekg, cardiac clearance and sleep study. Then I can be submitted to insurance, so hopefully these steps fly by. -
Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!

I am joining in too. I have my last weigh in on 5/8, I have my pre op group meeting tomorrow, I have a sleep study on 5/2 and cardio clearance on 5/4. After that everything should be sent to my insurance. My urgeon told me I should be looking at a late May or early June surgery date. -
Just starting the process??

I am about 2/3 through at this point. I had my seminar in late January, then had my consult with the surgeon at the end of February and with my advocate the day after that where I learned my requirements. I have to have a 3 month medically supervised diet, blood work, psych eval, upper endoscopy, sleep study, EKG, chest xray, one meeting with a nutritionist. So far I have completed two of my 3 months of visits, my blood work was done with my pcp back in December, my psych eval, my upper endoscopy and my meeting with the nutritionist. So all I have left is one more visit with my primary care, sleep study, EKG and chest xray then I can be submitted for approval. So I'm shooting for a late May or early June surgery date. It feels like it drags at times but I feel like these three months are giving me plenty of practice to change my habits to prepare. -
summer ‘18 surgery??? people under 30?
Tinainjax replied to saygrace's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just started myself, just finished my first doctor visit of 3. I have my endoscopy scheduled, working on getting psych scheduled, my nut appointment is next week, then I have a few more tests and I'm ready to submit. They are leaning toward a June surgery date. Oh I'm 24, hopefully I have surgery before my birthday in June and I live in florida -
oh wow that is a lot of stuff, but yes you are right it will be worth it in the end. Yours will fly by because you have a lot of stuff to do each month. I just sit around and wait until my next appointment with my pcp. They just scheduled me for my endoscopy for april 4. So I'm slowly making progress
-
yes, definitely have them note it that the appointment is strictly for weight loss so that way it counts towards your months just in case
-
I'm not sure how different yours will be, I have Molina in Florida. I have to have 3 months visits with my pcp showing they are for weight loss, an endoscopy, a sleep study, 1 nutrition appointment, a psychiatric eval, blood test, chest xrays and I think that's it.
