WOMEN 400+ who’ve had or are having VSG soon?
VanessaKaye replied to beingdina's topic in The Gals' Room
No problem! My pre-op diet was two weeks. It consisted of three meals that totaled in 800 calories. I did not follow pre-op diet well. Oops. But now, my sleeve keeps me very restricted. I love it. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app -
WOMEN 400+ who’ve had or are having VSG soon?
VanessaKaye replied to beingdina's topic in The Gals' Room
I started my weight loss journey at 443 lbs. I had my sugery on March 12, 2018 at 394 lbs (VSG). I'm not down to 310 lbs. I didn't prepare well because I was so addicted to food but I do have very active job. But I'm very pleased with my surgery. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Scheduled for sleeve July 10th may back out
VanessaKaye replied to Letsgetgoing2018's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery (vsg) on March 12 of this year. I had complications after surgery. I had a high fever and a high blood pressure after surgery. It only last a couple of days. With this said, I would get this surgery over and over again. This surgery gave a quality of life I didn't think I would have. Do not cancel your surgery. This surgery is worth it. Head Hunger Considered Less Legitimate?
VanessaKaye replied to sillykitty's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think head hunger is a definite real thing. I'm about four months post op and I'm one of the lucky ones that still gets full off of a tablespoon of food. When I get 'hungry' I immediately think that I need to eat something with protein because I know it'll fill me up super fast. I don't know if this answers your question but this is my take. I really focused on filling my stomach with things that make me full fast. When I first got my vsg, i hard core focused on learning when I was actually hungry and to ignore head hunger. It was hard but when I got rid of carbohydrates, I found that my head hunger went away for the most part. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Appetite back with a vengance!
VanessaKaye replied to BajanSleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This thread is frustrating. But it's because of the OP. It doesn't matter if you had food left over from a family visit. You throw it away and take control. Stop the excuses. It's not a good look, sis. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Wow! The cost of Surgery.
VanessaKaye replied to MJinNorCal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My total bill was $63,000. I only had to pay $1,500 out of pocket. -
I had to take off six weeks. I work with individuals with mental and physical disabilities. It's very strenuous. But I think one to two weeks for a desk job should be okay.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FMLA
VanessaKaye replied to BKNEWJOURNEY2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used FMLA and I got paid every week by short term disability. -
If you can stomach them, I like pickles because they are zero calorie and fill me up if I get hungry.

How are fellow March sleevers doing?
VanessaKaye replied to ElseeG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm feeling pretty good! My surgery was March 12th and I'm down 30 pounds. Still a little bit sore when trying to sleep but not too bad. -
I'm the same way! I wish I had an answer for us.

Menstrual After Surgery
VanessaKaye replied to Aworknprogress's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I actually brought pads before my surgery because I knew it would come. I have very irregular periods but it can be brought on by stress. I've always got bad cramps. But the pain medication that they gave me helped a lot. Also a heating pad! -
I've stared having bad food dreams about 5 days post-op. They're mostly about sneaking and eating food that I know I can't have yet. I've been following my diet fine and I'm not hungry during the day but during my dreams, I'm ravenous. Anyone else having dreams like this?
-
I'm not worried about it. Just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing the same kind of dreams. Since I'm only seven days post-op, I figured someone experienced it as well. But thank you again.
-
I don't have the desire when I'm awake. Only when I'm asleep and dreaming. I'm not even hungry during the day. I have to fight to get my protein and fluid in. But thank you for that. I do think my subconscious wants to chew.

I am! I'm doing well! I had my surgery on March 12th. Everything went smoothly. Only complications I had was breathing but that's because I have asthma.

My surgeon knew I was obsessing over the diet and took me off the diet. I lost ten pounds in one weeks during my preop diet. Your liver should be fine.
