Does anyone know of a fill doctor in New Mexico?
-
I just wanted to share my experience with Fill Center USA with all of you. They just acquired a new provider in Albuquerque, New Mexico. (Southwest Endocrinology). They called me and notified me that there would be a training day and if I were to get a fill done on that day I would get a reduced cost for the fill. I did not make an appointment for the training day because I paid for my band out of pocket and did not want to risk damage to the band by being used for training. But then about a month or so after this training day I called and made an appointment for fill… thinking they had done a few by then and it would be good. They set up everything for me and when I arrived for my appointment, after a 3 hour drive and almost a 1 hour wait to see the doctor, I was notified that they were doing training that day. They had never said anything about it up until this point. They had already charged me full price for my appointment instead of the reduced training price. Now they have refused to refund any of my money even though they did their training on me (and others) and they are now refusing to cancel my membership with them because they say it is a “lifetime” membership. For what its worth, I just thought I should share with anyone considering using Fill Center USA for fills and if you were another of the patients in Albuquerque on Saturday March 28th I wanted to let you know that I had made a complaint about what we were charged. (The doctor himself was very nice and personable so if anyone in Albuquerque needs a fill doctor I would call him directly instead of the Fill Center…and it would probably be cheaper too!)

I posted this in the fill doctor section too but thought I should post it in NM also...sorry if you got it twice. I just wanted to share my experience with Fill Center USA with all of you. It's really amazing what places think they can charge for a fill...especially when they want us to be the lab ratts! LOL It sounds like the imaging place would use Floroscoping to do the fill. That is probably why they charge that much...that would take a lot of the guess work out of where they are sticking you. I live up by Farmington. It's nice to meet another New Mexican bander...keep in touch I would love to hear how you are doing with your band. -
I just wanted to share my story...I have PCOS and after 10 years of trying to have a baby and only having maybe one cycle a year. My DH and I went to a fertility doctor and did 6 months of Clomid/metformin and low carb with no ovulation. The doctor said weight loss would help so I decided to get a lapband. After a year with the band, and only a few fills due to my doctor being out of state, I lost 80 pounds - with very little effort on my part - and my cycles came back on their own with no medications. My hair was thinning badly, almost to the point of needing a wig and just in the last few months I have noticed a huge difference as it is starting to fill back in. We are back at the fertility doctor now and the doctor has given us a much better outlook now that things are getting back to normal. All my bloodwork came back perfect and my blood pressure is not high anymore. It worked out great for us because we paid less for my Lapband then we would have for one cycle with en vitro fertilization and now we may not even need to do en vitro since my cycles are normal. I was told at my last ultrasound that my ovaries still look a little polycystic but they can see that they are improving by the location and size of the egg follicles. So for me- although it took a year to see big improvements in my PCOS - it was the right choice for me to get the band and I am so happy I did it.
