19 days post-op and I am sick of mushey foods!
ponytail posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Only 10 more days and I can finally eat something! Of course, I'm not going to cheat on the post-op diet... I don't want to hurt myself (plus I'm not a gigantic pig who can't control herself)... But I really want something to eat! I'm not talking a hugh fried chicken meal with french fries... I just want a subway or something! On the plus side, I have lost 25 pounds in 19 days! -
You lost 85 pounds! Don't get it reversed! I understand sometimes it can make you sick and sometimes you'rea t the end of your rope, but you have already lost so much, why not just keep up the good work? Eat to live, don't live to eat. You'll just gain it all back and that would suck.

5 days out and hunger sets in!
ponytail replied to alice150's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't even feel like eating for a week and by then I could have my shakes, so I never really got hungry. -
2 days post op and having doubts.
ponytail replied to spoodles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All I'm saying is it's a little sacrifice. Yes, the liquid/mushey diet is HARD! (Can I say that again? HARD!)... yes, a lot of it isn't glamourous (farting)... but freaking loosing 20 pounds in 2 weeks is nice. Having people tell you that it's working is nice. This will pass and, aside from the farting, you'll be happy you did it. -
Burping and the Band.
ponytail replied to TxChelsey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm burping a little, but I enjoy it :-) Seriously, it's not bad at all. I's nothing you can't squelch and it's really nothing if you try not to swallow air when you eat or drink. The farting is worse. Ohhh, yes. The farting is much worse. -
How You know you need an adjustment...
ponytail replied to mstrina27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get my first fill in two weeks and I feel so much like I don't need it. I get full so fast, stay full for a long time (4-5 hours) and I am loosing a pound a day. So, I'm saying, you need a fill if you're not loosing weight. If you're loosing weight, save the fill for later. -
2 days post op and having doubts.

Talk to me in two weeks when you've lost 25 pounds and have everyone telling you that it looks like you've lost weight. You won't be whining so much then. -
Banded 3-24-08 23 pounds gone!

I was banded on 3/26 and I lost 20 pounds since then. No pre-op diet. -
Did you have any restriction in the solid food pre-fill phase?
ponytail posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm at my solid food phase, but my first fill is in another week. When you were in this position, did you feel full faster and stay full longer? When I eat, I get full really quickly and stay full a long time (I'm eating 3 very small meals a day), so I don't think I really require a fill yet (I'm loosing a pound a day). What was your experiance? -
I don't need a fill... I have resrtiction enough without the saliene (a pound a day loss)

My protein shake gives me SO much energy ALL DAY LONG! Maybe you should try a different protein shake??

Friends and Family attending the surgery
ponytail replied to Eat2Live's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ohhh, I couldn't have done it without my loved ones! My mom waited on my hand and foot (and still does 15 days post op), my boyfriend stayed the night with me in the hospital cramped up in a chair with little to no sleep... They were the best! -

Why does it take so long for Dr's Offices to release your freekin records...
ponytail replied to mstrina27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to fight and fight and call and call for my records. It seemes like it took forever. Now I'm 15 days post-op and it all seems like a fast blur. -
It it okay to sleep on your side right after surgery?
ponytail replied to Cheryl Ann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I couldn't sleep on my side for about 3 days bcause it hurt too much. I guess whatever feels comfortable for you. Coughing can't dislodge anything. The port is burried in muscle. People get Pnomenuia after surgery all the time and their ports don't become dislodged. My doctor said I couldn't do anything to bust my stiches or anything like that, it'll just hurt. -
Week 3 post-op... can I have scrambled eggs?
ponytail posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been handeling mushey foods just fine and I was wondering if I could have scrambled eggs. Is that allowed in the 2-4 weeks-post op diet? -
