Once again, I agree with Fluffy Chix. I also rounded down on time since surgery instead of up. And I think it is a real shame to waste the chance this surgery is providing to change your life. But at any rate I don't think we do each other any favors if we aren't gonna reality check each other when we needed. Tough Love is Still Love! I had my surgery 3/9 and just started soft food 4/6 per the nutritionist at my surgeon's office. Sincerely, The Di*K from Gainesville

Good for you. I have plans tomorrow to check out a couple gyms. There is a women only center near me that sounds a little less intimidating, albeit more expensive. I could do Planet Fitness for $10 a month.

I'm with Fluffy Chix! This sounds like total BS. At 2 weeks out with this list of food this person would be in the emergency room! Surgery is pretty drastic if you have no intention of trying at all.

This is the visit that pushed me to pursue surgery! This is when I decided that if I don't change my life, this will be me in 20 years.© Brandi L Sullivan

I am always grateful for your thoughts, you are a truly talented wordsmith. This belongs in a book. I needed to hear this!

Percentage wise, I'd say you are right on course. Don't sweat it!

Keep up the good work! Simply amazing!

I started soft foods today! Stayed away from meat in puree stage cause that just sounded disgusting. But I had a little canned chicken mixed with guacamole for lunch and a small piece of mahi mahi for dinner! I've never been so satisfied in my life!

So jealous in a good way! Can't wait to join you there!

I feel you on the arms! Keep up the great work. YOU GO GIRL!

I am praying for you, too. I had a set back last year when my employer switched insurance companies at open enrollment. They went from an *** that covered it with co-morbidity to one that only covered it with very serious co-morbidity. I ended up switching to the PPO option which was easier to qualify than the original but my co-payment went from $250 total to $2879 paid so far (I am still getting bills). This was very stressful, and to think if I had just started my 6 month diet 2 months earlier I could have saved over $2500. Sorry, this was about you. I am pulling for you!

Water weight gain after surgery? Anyone else
BrandiLynn replied to maygoddess's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I gained 10+ lbs with my surgery. It was lost a week later, plus some. The surgeons office said its from the gas and fluids they pump into you during surgery and hospital stay. It should go soon, be patient and give your body a chance to heal. If it is not going away, give your surgeon a call. -
Yeah, I over bought, too. Also, the things I liked pre, I hated post so there was that. I didn't waste my time with the juice do to the 10 to 1 dilution. My taste buds are coming back around to normal though. I would probably recommend to anyone not to buy too much. You will still be able to go to the store. Just have some bullion and crystal light or whatever sugar free drink on hand for when you first get home. Buy the rest as you go along. Unless of course you have money to burn, and tons of extra pantry space for stuff you may not end up liking/using.

Here is the Full Liquid Diet Instructions for day 5-14.

Yeah, It has been a life saver. The Center for Obesity Surgery and Treatment gave it to me at my last visit before surgery. It even breaks down exactly what I am to look for when vitamin shopping. I refer to it hourly. LOL

Sugar drinks are wasted calories. Also, sugar is as addictive as cocaine. I am assuming that one of the goals of weight-loss surgery is to lose weight. After your surgery it is very important to focus on getting protein and fluids. Your surgeons office should have a Nutritionist on staff to help you make these important decisions. I would talk to them, but this is the hand out my Nutritionist gave to me for the clear liquid diet after surgery.

Functioning alcoholic ... an update
BrandiLynn replied to _Kate_'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Kate you are my hero. Congratulations!! Before committing to this surgery, I was a daily drinker. A relaxing cocktail after work was just part of my routine. I had to come to terms with letting go of that lifestyle. I am feeling much better for it, not to mention a little richer:) Also, my mother is a recovering alcoholic 29 years sober. Keep putting you first, one day at a time! -
What to expect. Approaching 3 months progress

Thank you for sharing your experience. Like you, I was not a grazer. I always over ate at meal time. Your success and your journey thus far makes me feel more encouraged about where I am, and where I am going. Congratulations on your progress. You are doing amazing! -
Awesome! You rock!
