    Hello from Rochester

I too am having trouble sticking to the diet plan. It is soooo hard! I have dealt with a lot of tough things but fighting that urge to eat food you love and and only eating veggies, lean protien and minimal carbs is the worst! Highland is great, I had a child there too, and two relatives who had bypass surgery, all good experiences. There will always be bad nurses just like really good ones too where ever you go, just speak up! Good luck!

    frustrated!!!

no i am not banded yet, not for another 2 months. I am feeling pretty lousy about myself because of this, i really wonder if i can do it because i am sooooo hungry! Thanks for the reply, i makes me feel better to ven to people who have been there and understand. My 100lb soaking wet nutrionist has really no idea what it is like. By the way, i love love love Denver and want to move there someday!
  6. Just wanted to get experiences/feelings from similar local people...
  7. So i went to my 2nd nutrition appt today, and gained 4 lbs! Granted it is during the final weeks of classes and finals are coming and I am a stress eater. I have been very stressed! But I have been eating healthier than ever and exercising much more than ever too. I have to admit I am having trouble keeping to te 350 cal meal/150 cal snack regimine. If I could do that easily I wouldn't need the band in the first place. When I do follow it stictly, i am starving and preoccupied about when I get to eat next. AUUUGGGHHHHH!!!

    newbie alert

thanks for the replies, this is making me feel much better. Has anyone heard of which insurance companies make you loose weight prior to surgery?

    newbie alert

yes I have gone to the seminar that is required here. I have also completed my first nutrition appt. I just keep hearing things against the banding, which is also my first choice. My BMI is 38, and I feel i need to loose 80-100 lbs too. The more I hear from actual people who have had the surgery, the better i feel. I just think that maybe bypass is so drastic. thanks for the advice!
  10. Hi! i have begun the weight loss surgery process andI can't decide whether to do lap band or bypass. Can someone please help me out? I would rather do the band but I am worried about slipping and port infection. I have diabetes and hypertension, so I want to reverse these ASAP! I would love if someone could give me details on banding like how much weight you loose and recovery and such. Thanks!
