Wondering why this subject comes up at all. As an Atheist, you expect others to respect your beliefs or right to NOT to believe. Yet you lack any respect for their right to express theirs. Grow up! Let go of the pettiness and open your mind. They are simply attempting to express their well wishes. Accept it and say "Thank you." Like an adult.... Does Anybody Regret Getting A Bypass of Any Kind?
kimber57 replied to Frustr8's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Happy. Sometimes my mind is telling me I miss certain foods or treats but it is just old habits knocking on my brain. I am not actually hungry. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Checking in with all the february peeps
kimber57 replied to Dawn Hanaphy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am in a stall. I have lost 70 pounds (counting the 20 before surgery) I guess I am not eating enough. I was told this yesterday at the 12 week check up. I swear I am eating...... some days I just can't get anymore down. I spent last night feeling sorry for myself. New day today, new attitude. I am focusing on more substantially nutritious foods. If it is good for me, high in protein, I will eat it. Even if I generally do not like it. My goal is to increase my calories by 20% , and increase my protein too. Wish me luck! I ate home made veggie and lean meat soups and just put my serving in the blender. Unfortunately in order to be able to blend it you have to cook the veggies till they are very soft. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

When did all the office worker go back to work?
kimber57 replied to t_dulls's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had my surgery on a Monday and went back the following Monday. I was fine but I was exhausted at the end of each day for several weeks. I slept 10 hours a night for 4 or 5 weeks. Had I had coverage at work I would have taken more time. My employer was compassionate and helped with a somewhat lighter work load for awhile. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using BariatricPal mobile app -

I am 13 days Post Op. I have struggled to drink enough fluid and to consume enough protein drink. I am weak and tired and I have frequent headaches from not being able to meet my fluid and protein goals. I continue to try. I I think I need to just keep trying..... My surgeon has a support group that meets once a week and each of these people told me they struggled too. They advised me that very few meet the goals right away but to keep trying because as soon as you do you will begin to feel better and stronger. Both body and mind. The craving and the temptations are out there, once you feel stronger of body and mind you will get past these. In the mean time try other forms of entertainment then TV. Read a book, meditate or go for short walks. Board games and video games, puzzles and MUSIC (my fav) GOOD LUCK and keep us posted.

I just came home from my final visit with Dr. He said my meds would be crushed or capsules will be opened and that will help with digestion. He will find out how long after surgery we will be doing this. He said not to worry they have a pharmacist that is well acquainted with these situations. He will visit with me while in hospital.
