Recommend me a fitness tracker?

I have a first generation Apple Watch that I really dig. I’ve had it for three years without any issues.
2. I was pretty open pre-op. Some asked how I could be so open and deal with the negative or judgmental opinions... and it’s really quite simple for me. Opinions only hold as much value as you give them. If you are not my doctor or personal trainer, your opinion of my health choices means very little. Nearly every person has been supportive, at least openly. I’d like to think if someone really wants to see me happy and healthy, that they will accept or support any actions I take to be either of those things.
3. I am four days post op and last night I sat in the other room while my mom and husband ate pizza and wings. I’ve also watched them eat chips... and tonight they are doing Chinese food. Thankfully I don’t have much of an appetite or any hunger pains and the fear or messing up my new belly is real enough to make abstaining pretty dang easy.
4. I am 4 days post op. Struggling to get all my liquids in and making a good effort with the protein shakes. I’m mostly focusing on liquids. I am still quite sore am taking lortab elixir every 4 hours. I’ve got some children’s Tylenol I’m trying to work in to get off the lortab. But the children’s Tylenol is so sweet it’s gross tasting. Most of my pain is gas/bloating but I’ve also started to have a lot of back pain. I think the back pain is due to overcompensating for my now injured abdominal muscles. I’ve yet to feel hungry or any of that- so drinking and consuming protein takes some real effort. I’m still using my incentive spirometer, as I had some low o2 issues while I was in the hospital. When I got out of the hospital, I weighed 11lbs more than when I went in. I’m now down about 4lbs. Can’t wait for the soreness to go away so I can start working out again!

Today’s my day!

I am about to head to the hospital for my surgery!!! As most of you know, I have been struggling a lot with nerves and jitters... thank you all for helping with that! I woke up this morning and said to myself, “Just look at this like it’s an opportunity!” I feel much more zen about the next four hours of my life now. 😊

Today’s my day!

Thanks, all! On the other side now. A bit sore, but it’s manageable. Started my water trial just now.

Clothing purge

I have gone from a size 28/30 to a size 22 in the pre op phase and have been purging as I went. I am certain I will not be back there ever again! I also live in an apartment and don’t have space to keep things that aren’t useful.
8. Thank you! My first words when I wake up will be, “‘more drugs, please!”

Dog Lovers

This is my Cat child, Annabel. Just like me, she could stand to drop a few pounds.
10. That would be awesome! I’m having RNY bypass tomorrow, but once I’m back in action we totally should!
11. Holy smokes! I just noticed you were an Albanian! I’m a Green Islander myself! How neat!
12. So tomorrow is the day. 😬😬😬 Just got my arrival time of 9:30am. Totally overcome with nerves. Wondering what the hell I am putting myself through. But I’ve got so much time and effort invested in this. I’m sure these are just pre-surgery jitters.

Steps

I sure hope not. I have surgery tomorrow and also live in a walk up, second floor unit! It may depend on your abilities before the surgery... like if you had no issues with them before, you’re probably fine. However, if you struggled with them before- you may want to be careful to not over do it.

Surgery Tomorrow

Ahhhhh! By now you’ve gone in and may be done by now and in recovery! I’m thinking of you!
15. So sorry to hear! I’ve been where you are currently and it is a heartbreaking and tough time indeed. Sending my thoughts and a hug your way...

Surgery Tomorrow

Good luck! Mine is Tuesday and I’m freaking out a bit!

Hospital bag

Ahhh yes! Hopefully my tiny nose doesn’t bloat. I plan on bringing a little mirror in and some pliers so I can get that sucker back in ASAP. I don’t understand why they will let me keep my wedding band on, but not a nose ring? A bit ridiculous if you ask me!

GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+
+

I hear ya! With my process, it seemed like I would do great, then go off track, I’d start to do better again and then fall off the wagon again. You will get there! Go easy on yourself, though. I kept reminding myself that I was up against a lifetime a bad food choices and awful habits... and those habits and patterns were not going to be broken overnight. 😊

GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+
+

Ahhh has a nutritionist or dietician given you any diet recommendations to follow? I know it’s tough, but following my dietician and making the changes they recommended really did help me meet their goal (322lbs) pretty quickly. If they didn’t give you any advice, then download MyFitnessPal and track, track, track. Try to eat mostly meat and non starchy veggies and do your best to avoid carbohydrate heavy things like bread, rice, pasta, corn, and potatoes. That should get you losing!
21. So my surgery is Tuesday, July 17th and I did my pre-op testing yesterday, July 11th. However- this morning I received a call from my surgeons office that there was a mixup and my nicotine level test was never ordered and I needed to come to the office today to provide a urine sample, because they take a few days to get back. Anyone have any experience with this situation? It’s a bit frustrating, because had I been tested at pre-op testing, they probably would have the results already... but now I’ve gotta wait and hope the surgery isn’t delayed.

How long for nicotine/cotinine results?

Wohoo! I see the results in my patient portal and I have tested negative! That was my last hurdle! I used to smoke, but quit just over six months ago with the help of e-cigs. However, my surgeon said ixnay on any nicotine products- so I had to go nicotine-free a month or so ago. While I was pretty sure I’d be okay, cause I didn’t cheat at all, there are so many mixed messages about how long it stays in the system that I was a little nervous!

GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+
+

I have three days until surgery and my scale is reading 300.6lbs. Trying to power through the last few days of the liquid diet to get rid of that last pound or two! 😀

Hospital bag

Ahhh yes! I’m not worried about taking the ring out... but I am worried about putting it back in after! The last time I changed nose jewelry, it was a painful, frustrating, 3 hour ordeal. I’m also nervous about the hole closing up, because getting it pierced was so stupid painful that I’m not sure I could put myself through it again if it closed up! 😂

Hospital bag

My surgery is Tuesday and I haven’t packed yet... 😳😳😂 I think I’m bringing: some comfy clothes, phone charger, phone, deodorant, dry shampoo, a fresh nose ring to shove in, chapstick, and maybe a hair band? I’m only going to be in for ~2 days. Also, I only live about 9ish blocks from the hospital so I’m sure my partner or mother can bring me other stuff if I feel like I will die without it.
