I Want My Band Removed Now!!!!!
Keywestgirl replied to yazmarrero85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow how cool you have something to really drive you. 2 sizes smaller NO pressure there. I have no doubt in my mind that you can do it. With or without a fill you know what you have to do. The dieting part is not easy, but it can happen. It is the minute we quit doing W/W or Jenny Craig or Atkins whatever your diet of choice may be and when we aren't gung ho working out and going to the gym, that is when the beauty of the band will come into play. Because it is after all that hard work and determination, the weight creeps back on soooooooo fast and easy. that's not fair it doesn't fall off that easy. I am learning from my body bugg (the one's the biggest losers wear) that to lose weight, you have to burn a heck of a lot more than you consume. I have to create a defecit of over 1,000 calories a day just to lose 2 pounds a week. I currently am 4 weeks postop with my appetite back with a vengence. Am I starving myself........no. I take in 1200-1400 cals a day. Do I endulge in something I have a taste for.......yes. Do I feel guilty.....no, I just don't eat half a pizza anymore, or half a bag of snacks or a whole entree and an appetizer. Its uncanny how I only eat about 1/4 of what I used to. It feels wonderful. My weightloss has stalled for now (not a surprise) now it is just time to get moving. I am so proud of you. You have some of the most wonderful years ahead of you. I loved the 20's. I would have loved them more at an ideal weight of myself at 130 instead of 170-180. I was so stupid to pass things up because I thought I was too fat or ugly. My only regret in life is to not get my weight under control back then. You're awesome...........Good Luck!!!!!!!!! -
Oh yeah if she has a complaint about an article of clothing making noise, tell her that her mouth makes such an intolerable "yapping" noise.
-
Report her first. Try to secretly record her so you have proof. Go hi tec, wear a wire. LOL Tell her she is a sad miserable Bi**h and you can't believe she is a Christian. Tell her she better get off your A** oe she will be sorry. That would really be frustrating to walk outside after a long hard day of work to find you have 4 flat tires. FYI, just get someone else to do the flattening. She might get the hint. Don't let her know u did it. Karma is a beautiful thing. :wink2: I'll go off on her for you. what's her email? LOL. Hang in there.

Wow WCFG I am so sorry for your losses. I can honestly say I feel your pain that way. I moved in and took of my father for the last 2-3 years. Through cancer, stroke then Alzheimers until he was taken by a massive heart attack right on the kitchen floor in front of me and my 10 year old son at the end of last year. Which was a blessing in disguise that he went so quick. But no matter how much you may pray for God to take that loved one out of pain, you are never ready for that moment when they take their last breath. It took all I had not to do CPR, I felt so helpless. The minutes never went by so slowly. And my mother was also sick when I was in highschool. She was just in her 5 yr remission with breast cancer when it came back as ovarian cancer and *poof* she was gone in months. I have yet to recover from that. Time does not heal some things. I also held the hand of a young man who died of AIDS. I was there for his last breath. He was a patient of mine on and off while I did my clinicals at the hospital. It was so sad. Not one person was with him when he passed except myself. I called the nurse as the number of breaths whittled down. My heart really does go out to you. Your right, some people will never even fathom what you have seen or experienced. All we can do is go on and draw strength from the memories of our loved ones. Kind of live each day as healthy as we can in their honor. You deserve happiness and love, we all do. So if you have a not so good day, brush it off and do your best the next. Life is so precious, we should not be sitting around wondering if we are failures but give it our best to enjoy each day we are given. You are my inspiration today WCFG, to go out and knock out my walk that I was getting ready to say forget it, because I am already tired. Thank you.:biggrin2:

Banded 5/7 anyone else out there close to me?
Keywestgirl replied to MissieLyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
FYI: My doc said to stay full longer by keeping food in the pouch, you should wait well over and hour even 2 before you drink anything. It will just wash everything out of the pouch, therefore defeating the purpose of the band. -
Hey just FYI. On 24 hr fitness.com they are now $49 off from $299 and $25 off digital watch piece. I also picked it up immediately from a club, same price so no shipping and waiting for me. YAY!!!!!
-
Okay people......I got my bugg. I drove to a 24 hr fitness club and they offered it for the same price as online..........plus I got it INSTANTLY no shipping. Shoot I even joined up in a no committment contract. They have a 30 day moneyback guarantee. I told them I wanted a 2 week trial period first so the payment doesn't even go thru until Jun 6th. Very excited. It came with 2 free personal training sessions. They said they will go over the bugg with me. Just so u know they didn't pressure me into the membership, I actually inquired about it. I could have walked right out after buying the bugg. If they do ask u, just say u belong to the Y or some other club if u don't wanna join. I will keep ya posted.

Hey Laurend......you have put up some terrific numbers. I read the dates you accomplished your mini goals, that's impressive. I have stalled after week 3 postop. Swelling is down and I have absolutely no restriction. I caught a postings about the bodybugg by CChristys. I just got back from 24 hour fitness (which I am now a member) where I bought the bugg. It is actually on sale. See 24 hour fitness.com $49 off and another $25 off the digital watch to see immediately what you are burning without updating the computer. I read this was so helpful to break through plateaus when u see exactly how much you have to burn to meet your defecit for the day. You tell the bug how much u want to lose that week, input your food for the day, and it will tell you what u have to burn for that day to meet that weight loss goal. It's what they wore on biggest loser on their arms. Very excited. Hey Laurend- were you totally consistant on your fills. How much do u have in your band? Thanks Alice:wink2:
-
Thanks for starting the Bodybugg thread. You should get a cut of every bugg purchased. What a great salewoman you are. It took me days to read thru most of the posts.

I have a quick question. I am going to purchase one for sure, no doubt. But with summer here (we belong to a swim club) so when I go to the pool I obviously take it off, but do I just log any activity I did (like lap swimming) on the website? Is it okay to take it on and off multiple times thru the day without it really screwing up the numbers to make your defecit. And say I am restarting Jenny Craig, do I just log the caloric info off the box. Do I just log calories and fat or all the rest (like carb count, sodium, fiber etc. etc.) Thanks for your response. You can pm me if u want. I am also getting Wii fit for me and my son. Can't wait to see actual calories burned doing that.

My "so-far" pics.. nervous to post!
Keywestgirl replied to coolcrystal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hang in there Crystal. Little baby steps add up to a lot of distance covered over a years time. 1 pound loss a week is over 50 pounds in a year. That's huge. I can't wait til I can post a pic where I can ee the loss. There is a big difference in yours!!!! -
Don't get mad at WCFG people, he is just telling it like it is. Godspeed everyone, we are all on this journey together.

Anyone else in the <35 BMI Clinical Trial?
Keywestgirl replied to Playful Psychic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would have loved to take part in a trial. I rather have 17,000 dollars in my bank than in my stomach. As stupid as it sounds I wanted this so bad, I had to gain like 10 pounds just to get to a BMI of 35. I have been on the obesity roller coaster most of my adult life. -
Hey for a the non acrobatic pole dancers........I saw a web site for these mesh like bungee swings you can hang to the bedroom ceiling. All you gotta do is bounce and enjoy the ride. That sounds really fun. You are never too old to yell "Weeeeeee". goodnight all.......gotta go google adult swings.
-
Go to Adam and Eve.com and check out some fun toys or a local adult toy store. Get a feather and run it near his neck and start to playfully nibble on his ear.........Schwing!!! He will hopefully get the hint. Or when u have a day off together, slip into the shower with him and get real sudsie. Offer to give him a masage, break out some candles, oil and I think Coltonwade was giving you a hint on what body part of yours to use. Like previously stated, men are usually saluting you in the morning.....not to much effort there. Hey make Breakfast just wearing a shirt no panties. And because this is a lapband site, now let's not forget sugar free or light whipped cream and choc syrup kids. LOL

WCFG Your loss is impressive:wink_smile: I am so happy for you. Soda wasn't my main vice but just eating in general. The last year when my father got really sick, and I was his only caregiver, I totally abandoned any exercise and diet of the month that I was doing and turned to food for comfort. Now that he has passed I am all about me and getting healthy again. Although I am mourning those All you can eat crab leg buffets at the many casinos we have in every direction, I know the feeling of finally fitting into my whole closet full of clothes which still have the tags on it, will taste so much better. I liked your statement about the calories in vs. the calories out analogy. However I am a bit baffled. I lost 10 pounds like BAM overnight. (3 days postop) I started on reg foods, gained 2 pounds and lost it right back. What has me stumped is when I see posts about how people don't lose. If we restrict our bodies of too many calories (under 1200) doesn't our body go in starvation mode and try to hold onto every ounce of fat? Think back to when people hunted for their food. Or times of famine. That is how our bodies are constructed. I remember in a health class I took in college where they said you have to add fuel to a fire or it just fizzles out. So aren't we supposed to eat 4-5 small meals a day so our metabolism doesn't slow? (meaning it could be a simple shake or Protein bar, piece of cheese, whatever) I just don't think it is healthy to be soooo restricted that nothing normal doesn't go down. Are we supposed to drink our Fiber? I am 4 weeks banded exactly today. So please excuse my ignorance. I am just trying to figure out a plan of action. I did step up the exercise today. Finally a nice spring day. Walked 4 miles and cut the grass. I am feelin really motivated for once. Hopefully I see a drop on the scale. Thanks to everyone and how candid you are. Weight loss is never easy whether you are 400 pounds or 200 pounds. As a newbie I am really excited to have such a great tool on my side to help me maintain my losses. Keep the faith everyone, tomorrow is a new day if today didn't go as expected.

God Bless on your journey CPrincess. You are beautiful and I know you are anxious to be starting your new life. Good Luck,

I only had a 5 day preop. And all but the two days before, I did an atkins type diet. Hardly any carbs will help shrink the liver also. I did chicken broth, apple juice clear liquids 2 days before surgery........It was a breeze. Post op, it was amazing just how full you get on half a cup of broth. Sugar free ice pops were my best friend....still are

Hello, Coach Cher, a Lapband moderator here on the website reference this website about a woman who had Bypass surgery and she discussed some complications she encountered years after. She looks fantastic but has suffered some nasty complications. Very candid and enlightening. Her you tube video is surprising, along with her response. It is melting mama: Do I regret my gastric bypass? Hope this is informative.
-
Coach Cher, thank you for that. I have a friend who was offered both and I think may be pressured into the bypass. Lap Band is not an overnight miracle(which would be nice) but it does take patience, following of rules and exercise. I can't wait until it helps me not regain it once I hit my goal. I have been on the weight loss roller coaster all my life. Hang in there everyone. Small goals. 2 pounds a week lost is 100+ in a year.
