:confused:I just had my first fill. I had 2ccs placed during surgery. I now have 4ccs. I am able to eat normally just hours after the fill. I have a 10cc AP (Advanced Platform) band. Being able to eat normally after a fill should not be normal, right?

I was banded 5/28/08 and have only lost 30 pounds! My surgeon used the AP version of the lapband. I am not supposed to have many fills. Well, I have not had any fills. I've been to the surgeon twice my surgery. I lost 20 of the 30 pounds the first month After surgery. I am now feeling hungry between meals. I do have restriction because I have gotten food stuck and had to vomit or spit it up. I guess the obvious is that I need a fill? Has anyone had success with the AP band?

Each time I went for a doctor appt, I have a few pounds so they said I did not need a fill. I was told that with the AP lapband, there is some saline in the band when they put the band in place. I lost 18 to 20 from 5/28 to 7/01. Then 5 more pounds before a visit, then later about 5 pounds more. That next visit, since I lost 5 pounds since the last visit, the doctor didn't think I needed a fill

I had my lapband surgery 5/28/08. I have just in the last couple weeks started to have heartburn....guess it's heartburn. Never had it before. Today I have it and it is almost unbearable. It hurts between my breasts. I can't work or anything. Yesterday it started between my breasts, but felt like it was hurting all the way thru to my back. But, today is the worst...just between my breast. What can I do? Update: OK the back pain is beginning again.:thumbup:

Thanks. I am taking OTC Zantac...not helping much. I have the pain again today. Really painful. Three days in a row.

I have not had a fill yet. I have lost 24 1/2 pds. I think I have some restriction..... I'm not able to eat nearly as much as I used to eat. I have called mt center's nurse. I am waiting for a call back. Does this sound like heartburn to you?

Hello.... I also work for Verizon.... in Durham NC. I am waiting for Aetna to approve. My BMI is 43. I have sleep apnea and high blood pressure. I did the 3 month prep regimen, saw the nutritionist twice. I am concerned I will be denied because I did not lose any.

Hi.... I have Aetna and just found out that it is no longer 5 years...it changed to just 2 years. I am waiting for insurance approval. My family physician was ready to provide the 5 years, but I contacted Aetna and asked about what all needed to be in my family physician's letter. That's when I found out it was on 2 years. I am concerned that I will be denied because I did not lose any weight during my 3 month prep regimen. I went to a Nutritionist twice and saw my family physician. Aetna told me to fax my doctor's office notes showing where we discussed it....hope that is sufficient!

Do you know if your insurance will not approve if you don't lose? I didn't lose any during the 3 months. However, I didn't gain....
