    Does your stomach feel normal?

1 week out and I feel great! No different that pre surgery! I'm able to meet protein and liquid goals (I'm still on full liquids). The first couple of days were not fun because of gas but once that was resolved I have been great. I took pain pills for the first 2 days bc of gas but nothing, not even Tylenol, since. Today is the first day I have not felt run down at the end of the day. If it weren't for the incisions I would not know I had the procedure.
  3. Sleeved 2/19. After several days of horrible gas pain in the shoulder area I am feeling great physically. I vacillate between hating the liquid diet and swearing I won't make it to thinking this is no big deal. Right now my biggest struggle is fatigue. I start off the day great and slowly lose steam; by 8:30 I'm ready for bed. I have not weighed, hoping to make it to the first appt next week but can't promise. My weight has gone up and down so much that the starting weight is also my lowest, but that is the weight I'm starting with, kinda the lowest I could possibly reach without medical intervention. Anyway, I so enjoy reading everyone's experiences, advice etc.
  4. I weighed like you did...and was just as freaked out, but I went back and read in other forums that folks who have lost a good amount of weight prior to surgery often do not lose in the beginning.... like an early 3 week stall? I don't know but I'm holding onto that theory for dear life! and told my husband to hide the scale from me! You are doing great! You've got this!
  5. AWESOME job!!! You have accomplished so much! Keep working and we will be here cheering you on! You CAN do this!

    I Need Some Serious Help!

Two things that have worked for me (I realize that I'm only a week out of surgery): 1. I have an inspiration board (for my eyes only) that has pictures of my goals post weight loss. They include vacations, physical activities, events, articles of clothing etc. Nothing is too vain or outlandish 2. On the other side of the board I have pictures that I hated, times where my weight caused me to miss out on events, made me feel bad embarrassed etc. This board is a work in progress and just seeing it in black and white puts food in prospective for me. Also, one day at a time and sometimes one hour at a time. We have all sabotaged ourselves and we understand the feelings of failure and giving up, but you have got this!
  7. Mine was outpatient at a hospital in Dallas and I had no problems. I was sleeved and he fixed a hernia I did not know existed. I was given the option to spend the night afterwards but I wanted to go home. I was discharged with so many meds that I was not worried and I slept great that night- I even sent my husband back to work the following day! I struggled with gas for the first 4 days but I'm feeling great now! Good luck- for me at least, this has been much easier that I ever imagined!

    3 days after vsg surgery

I had my sleeve 2/19, and was in tears over the shoulder pain (I have a high tolerance for pain). Today when I woke I felt some discomfort but it's much better. I slept in a recliner which helped somewhat. However, today I am feeling my incisions for the first time; hopefully medicine will help. I know it's hard, but trust me it will get better! I also know that everything seems 100x worse when we aren't able to sleep! I feel like I've been in a fog this week! Good luck, I'll be thinking about you!

sleeved 2/19 and I was only able to reach 30 ounces today. Glad to hear it gets easier as the days go on.

Any advice to pass lots of gas

Me too. Walking as often as possible plus gas x. I've also found that if I change positions I can find a position that helps expel the gas. So sorry- today is the first day I have not been doubled over with gas pain.

    Want a Sleeve Buddy?

Thanks! I'm going to call my doctor now. If my gas pains were under control, I would have no issues at all.
