I definately think you should look into more, I do know that with the bypass you are suppose to limit your sugar so that you dont have the dumping syndrome, and that some people become lactose intollerant with the bypass too...so it sound like the dr was trying to sway everyone towards the bypass...the best thing you can do is do more research online and think more about it -
So is this my pre-op diet?

i had my eval last week on 4/17 and i was approved by insurance co. yesterday... eval consisted of a 500 true/false questionare and then an hour long talk with the dr. --wanting to make sure that i had done my research and that i knew what some of the complications could be and that i was ready to change my lifestyle to make this tool for losing weight work, asked me if i was ever depressed or suicidal...nothing too hard to answer...alot of the questions he asked were funny to me..i passed with flying colors just had to wait for the report to be typed up and sent to the bariatric center

congratulations thats a great time to be banded...with the 3 day weekend (memorial day) coming up

All i had to give them was a list of the different things i have tried to lose weight both supervised and unsupervised and if i was seeing a dr..which one i was seeing...but every insurance company is different. I was fortune enough that i went through a bariatric center that is contracted with my insurance co. so the approval process was much easier.---IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING SURGERY IN YPSILANTI MICHIGAN??

I'm 5'6, so i can carry a little more weight than you...but i also have mini goals that i set for myself so that the big finish doesnt seem like its so far away.. my first goal is to be under 300, then my next will be 250 (my pre-marriage weight lol) so on and so forth...i find it easier to stay positive when my goal isnt so far away.

My BMI is 35.9/ told to gain b4 liquid diet
new_jewel replied to gigim's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
when i started looking into the band my bmi was above 50 so i only needed a psych eval, but ive lost 40 lbs since then so i was worried that i would have to jump through more hoops to get approved ...so i called the bariatric center that is working on my approval and found out that they submitted the bmi info from my intl consult for my insurance approval, so i can lose or gain as much i want...they already have the info they need lol...so would think that once your insurance company has this info and approves it...what you weigh after that shouldnt matter..i would definately talk to whoever is in charge of getting your approval for you. -
Getting Health Insurance After Being Band.
new_jewel replied to JillW's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know that some insurance wont cover "pre-existing conditions" and other have a 6 month to a year waiting period before they will treat your pre-existing conditions...my old boss ran into that problem when he was looking for insurance for the company, his wife has a "pre-existing condition" so he had to make sure the insurance he chose covered them -

I ate low carb --meat, cheese, eggs, lots of water to keep you feeling full (30 carbs total a day) and made myself do some sort of exercise during my favorite show each night for a month and lost 25 lbs---if i can do it, so can you :tt1:
