Did you sweat less after surgery?

This is SO EXCITING!!! I am 9 days out and I have been really cold the last few days and thought it was just in my head. I keep having to turn my thermostat up to warm up at home. Fingers crossed my sweating will decrease! I am unfortunately too a “swamp monster” 🤣🤣🤣

    Does your stomach feel normal?

I’m 6 days out and the first few days i could feel every sip going down and had slight pain (really more pressure) and then about 4 days out it just stopped. I was at work on Monday and I’m just doing everything I usually do routine wise like nothing ever happened haha. It’s hard to believe I had a major surgery last week. And in the last 24-36 hours I am instantly able to drink fluids very easily. I worked from home today and spaced my snacks out well and had time to knock out all of my fluids before 4pm. I had 2 24oz cups of crystal light (one morning, one afternoon) and I had to catch myself drinking too fast bc I totally forgot I had even had the surgery. Haha. Hope that makes you feel better! you will love your new stomach and the new you!

    In a lot of pain

It will get better I promise!! I was sleeved on Valentine’s Day last week and I know everyone is different but this will give you hope. First 2 days were really tough for me. I had awful nausea and gas pains first 24 hours and threw up a lot. Which was pretty much dry heaving and that hurt my stomach even more. I could barely get out of bed and my husband had to pull my arms to help me change positions bc i was in so much pain and was scared to move. BUT!.....there is a silver lining! Every day I kept feeling better and better. I even went back to work yesterday (desk job) and if you had told me that last Thursday I would have thought there was no way in hell I would be back at work that soon. I have even only been taking my pain meds at night to help me sleep and am taking nothing during the day. The last 24 hours everything has finally started feeling more normal and I’m adjusting to the schedule and I think timing your protein shake and water and snacks is the key to feeling the most comfortable trying to get fluids and protein down. YesterdAy I didn’t keep much of a schedule and it was so much harder than today. Today I set off reminders on my phone and it made everything feel so much better going down. I hope your pain gets better as quickly as mine did and you can start enjoying your new stomach and the scale dropping every morning. You can do this! A couple or three miserable days is worth a lifetime of a skinny New you and happiness!

    Day 6 post op mood

I definitely know what you mean! I’m 5 days out from my sleeve and it’s so weird not being hungry. Of course I would love to chow down on a ribeye and loaded potato but obviously that’s mental hunger. It is kind of weirding me out. Today was my first day back to work and all I’ve had is a protein shake, a half a portion of broccoli cream soup, a popsicle, and a half a single container of yogurt. And I’ve still got to get 10 more grams of protein and almost 15 ounces of fluid before I go to sleep. It’s a weird feeling to physically not be able to eat anymore when we are so used to eating way too much with ease. Good luck and let me know if you come up with any tricks! Haha

    What to expect

You will do great! I was sleeved on the 14th. I’m not going to lie- the gas pains and nausea were brutal and the first 24 hours was pretty rough. I was so nauseated and kept throwing up from the anesthesia but since I hadn’t eaten solid food in days it meant they were dry heaves with a little saliva/blood. Hurt terribly and I definitely had the “omg what have I done to myself moment” about 8 hours post surgery. Haha. BUT. it really isn’t that bad and each day gets easier and better. I went back to work today (desk job) and I’m doing things as usual (without any heavy lifting or housework obviously) and I’m eating A LOT less. Haha. You will he surprised how quickly you recover and bounce back. I was a nervous wreck the day of my surgery but I am so happy it is behind me now. You will do great. The pain is temporary and other than the gas pain/nausea the first 24 hours my actual incisions haven’t really bothered me at all. I don’t even need my pain meds anymore and have just taken them at night to help me sleep the last 2 nights. Good luck!! Get ready for a new you!!
  13. Had my sleeve done around noon yesterday. My gas pain was horrible but they are finally starting to subside. Keeping water down was so hard yesterday. I dry heaved so much. Today I’m much better today. How is everyone else doing? Did you start your protein today? I have only had one sugar free popsicle today and water. Going to start my protein shakes , jello, broth tomorrow.

    Any February Sleevers?

Hahaha I definitely thought that same thing!! I had my surgery yesterday. Gas pains were horrible but I feel much better today. I seem to keep feeling better after every nap. Liquids are tough but I’m doing ok keeping them down now. Now so much yesterday. I haven’t attempted my protein shake yet. Only thing I’ve had other than water is a sugar free popscicle. I’m going to start my protein and jello tomorrow I guess

    Any February Sleevers?

I was Valentine’s Day too! How are you doing?
  16. I’ve got to be at the hospital at 8:15 tomorrow for my sleeve! I’m terrified of the actual surgery part (never had surgery before) but I’m so excited for my new journey. My surgery is outpatient and I spend the night in a hotel near the hospital once I’m released from my room tomorrow night. I’m pretty nervous and trying to keep myself distracted. I’m really scared of the anesthesia and the post surgery pain. Praying it won’t be too bad. Any advice or tips are appreciated!

    Surgery in the morning!!

I’m doing ok! Yesterday was ROUGH. I had really bad gas pains up until 10pm when I was allowed to go to sleep. I woke up feeling so much better though. Still feel pretty rough but hoping the worst is behind me. Thank you for checking on me!!
