Call his bluff. Make him seriously think about what it would mean if he divorced you for medical reasons. I am pretty sure you would take him to the cleaners financially. Don't appeal to his emotions, show him how it will cost half of his possessions, retirement, and a good chunk of his income.
Texas is a "Fair & Just" divorce state. That doesn't necessarily mean a 50/50 split. He may want to think before he opens his mouth again.

i do worry about that last one. addiction issues run in my family. alcohol, gambling, food seems if you got my blood in you you get to fight one or all of these.
hell some days i think i am addicted to being worried about addiction
haven't drank in 20 years cause i promised myself i would never be my father
love poker so much i won't allow myself to play more than once or twice a year cause i see nothing but a dark road down that path
Now food is gone so i spend my time worried about what i'll have to worry about next.
some days the whole bigger brain thing just seems more trouble than its worth.

I didn't tell a soul either. I do not want to be sized up every time I see someone, or have my food constantly monitored. I feel like it was a personal choice and it's my business and I kept it to myself.

Today I am 45 days out. I take my Vitamins daily, get my fluids in with no problem and am tolerating food very well. I almost feel like I'm doing too well...reading some of the things on here have me perplexed. I have to remind myself that everyone is different, everyone heals differently.
I'm down 38 pounds. Whenever I get the thought in my mind that I am not progressing fast enough I remind myself that this is the most weight I have lost in ages. I continue to gain and lose the same five pounds, then it finally falls off. Then I plateau and gain/lose the next 5 pounds. Like I said, its frustrating me to no end, but I am trying to be realistic with myself. Slow and steady wins the race, and I am giving my skin time to adjust to the loss as well.
    Observations and Weird sensations:
Sometimes I can barely finish a yogurt while other times I can eat quite a bit more. (For example, a bean burrito from taco bell or a 6 inch sub on flatbread from Subway)
I can feel the food shift in my stomach; I've never had that sensation before.
Sadly, the sleeve doesn't get rid of PMS cravings. I still have to fight myself about eating crap. The difference is now I can talk myself out of it 95% of the time whereas before I was 95% sure I would eat it anyway.
Since I am not consistently on sugar/carbs like I used to be I can actually feel myself crash from eating something carb/sugar rich. It's enough to make me not want to eat them.
I've found if I've eaten a few bites too much, I can get rid of that feeling much faster by walking. Walking actually helps move my food. Before surgery, walking while I was stuffed was sheer torture. If I was overly full, I would feel that way for a long time. a couple hours even, before I would get any relief,
I definitely feel restriction. I eat maybe a 1/4 to an 1/8 of what I used to.
I can't throw up. I've had the sensation a few times and even tried to on one occasion that I overdid it by accident. I didn't feel the restriction til it was too late. I've since learned to slow down when I eat so I have time for my body to signal to me. But the point is, I used to be able to puke almost on command. Not so much anymore.
Its not really worth going out to eat at a sit down restaurant. I cant eat like the rest of the folks. While that is a exhilarating feeling, I found myself sulking because I couldn't eat my favorite meal at Chuy's. I had to laugh at myself like really, Tracy? You have wanted to be thinner for years and now that you have the chance you are crying about a chimichanga?
I still have to silence my inner fat kid on the daily. I'm hoping that becomes less and less. I didn't realize just how addicted i was to food and food routines. I'm slowly re-learning how to have fun without food or booze and how to incorporate exercise into daily life again.

Why do you have to tell her though?
Only tell those that need to know...spouse, significant other...maybe a trusted best friend if they will be helping you after surgery.
Anyone that is not going to be supportive or will not be involved in your aftercare or is not living with you does not need to know.
The less that know the better in my opinion, just my experience.

hahaha. I'd cut a bit*h for a 27lb loss in one month. Remember, the grass is ALWAYS greener. Heck, right now, I'd prolly cut a bit*h just for an 8lb/month loss.

I had developed a sizeable stack of clothes in the corner of my closet and hadn't made a move to get rid of them. Like you, I think I was kind of paralyzed by the "finality" of the act. Then a friend at work mentioned a woman at her church in dire need who was about my size. (Husband had cleared out the house, including all the clothes (even the kid's toys) while she was out with the kids one day.) She was about my size. It was so easy for me to pack up the clothes for her, I even pulled extras off the hangers that I hadn't quite "ungrown" yet, because I was doing it for someone else.
Maybe you can reach out to a local shelter and see if they have someone your size?

I feel the same way! I moved myself to the soft foods so I could have non sweet stuff. Here's what I've has: scrambled egg, refried Beans, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, cream of wheat. And I add melted cheese wherever it makes sense - yummy plus extra Protein. Next on my list: tuna, egg salad (really smoosh the egg). I am doing so much better now that I've been eating real food. I no longer gag at the thought of eating/drinking. It is absolutely imperative to eat tiny bites and a very small quantity in total. I envision myself as a little baby bird eating

I buy Premier Protein chocolate pre made, and it seems the least sweet.

I've not tried pre-making. But I travel with Protein Powder and have been known to bring a shaker bottle with Almond Milk.

I also keep a 1/2 gal of Almond Milk at work with a personal blender in my office.

Keep your Fluid levels up. I know it sounds counterproductive, but as waste products wash out perhaps your weight might start dropping. ,Maybe if you're doing strength, trade it,for cardio or even aerobic. Vary your approaches, otherwise it sounds like you are doing all the 🏆right things.

I am just beginning week two of stage 3 post surgery (date was 7/31) and I've been doing pretty well but I am SO tired of sweet! My Protein Shakes are all sweet (save for chicken Soup, which I have once a day). It seems like all of the recipes for soft foods on this stage are for more sweet things -- and that grosses me out. I have been eating a soft scrambled egg once a day, and made the ricotta bake, but does anyone else have good suggestions for what I can eat for the next week? I think tuna is okay, so I will add that. What about other meats? Have you done ok with ground turkey, chili, or other more substantial protein-based savory recipes? Please share!

The Ricotta Bake is is a delicoius dish that is high in Protein and low in carbs. And, for most programs, it qualifies as a soft food!
It only takes 30 minutes and a few basic ingredients.
    Time to Ready: 30mins
    Servings: About 4

    INGREDIENTS

    8 ounces ricotta cheese

    1⁄2 cup grated parmesan cheese

    1 large egg, beaten

    1 teaspoon italian seasoning

    salt & pepper

    1⁄2 cup marinara sauce

    1⁄2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

    DIRECTIONS

Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish.

Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese.

Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly.

LOSE........what we hope happens to our fat. We want to lose it.
LOOSE.....how our clothes fit after we LOSE some weight. My pants are loose. The neighbor's dog is loose. The only way I could loose fat, is if I thew a can of Crisco out the door...and I'm guessing it would still be pretty contained as it isn't very ambulatory.

I know...I know...spelling isn't an indication of intelligence. It's not a big deal. We all make a million spelling errors. Myself included.
    Just ranting.
    Lose....when something is gone.
    Loose...your butt with diarrhea.
    Lose....when you don't win.
Loose...when you're friendlier in the sack than you oughtta be.
    Lose....your car keys.
    Loose....your kid's baby teeth.

I'm sorry. Thank you. I feel better.
