Foods to avoid to improve scar healing?
rs replied to rs's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thanks. I see it on Amazon too and it has over 9,000 reviews with acetate 4.5 stars! Clearly this is the one to get. -
Foods to avoid to improve scar healing?

Thanks for your input. Definitely looking to hear from anyone. Those tagged are just who I happen to know have recently had PS. But the topic of scars is certainly broader than just PS. -

Foods to avoid to improve scar healing?
rs replied to rs's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thanks friends. Seems consensus here is to eat protein (which of course is also what we are supposed to do after sleeve surgery anyway) and use bio oil (or coconut oil or tretinol on the scars). Something interesting is that the three people that told me about the no seafood and/or beef were all Asian, and one of them actually commented that she wasn't sure if it was just an Old Wives tale. Truthfully I couldn't go without seafood or beef because those are some of my staple foods to get in my protein. Thanks again for everyone's input. -
You look great! How did you get such nice arms? I'm hoping mine look like that once I'm fully recovered from my arm lift I had a couple weeks ago.

@ms.sss you're healing well. But dang, I'd have been pretty happy to have your 'before' body. I'll try to take pics today or tomorrow, and will reluctantly post them. -

@ms.sss Dang girl! Look at you and your hot body! Not that I'm surprised because all of your OOTD posts show that you already looked great. I'm especially oggling your beautiful legs, wow! I think you are a runner though right? I'm not willing to put in that much effort lol -

I agree. Definitely go in. 12 days seems crazy long! -
Just getting ready to create a post asking about silicone tape recommendations and I see that this one is the same one my Dr recommended so that makes my decision easy. [emoji4]

No, mine never got that swollen in the hands. Most of my swelling seems to be around the elbows and the forearms. Hands too but less so. -

Oh my! Glad they are better! As much as mine have hurt they haven't gotten as swollen as yours were before. Goodness. -

@FluffyChix no they aren't hot or red. They seem to be doing better since I've been elevating them and I now have the original compression garment back on. I will continue to monitor and call the Dr if it worsens. Thanks for all the good info. -
Foods you can no longer tolerate

16 months post sleeve and I still can't tolerate eggs, any kind. Every couple months I try again and each time I nearly throw up. Loved eggs before surgery. Strange. -
A Tale of Two Arm Lifts (rs & ms.sss)

The swelling has been worse with the ace bandages. The drains were removed the same day I switched from the garment to the bandages so maybe that is a factor also. I just forced myself to put that stupid garment back on to see if it'll help. Cried like a baby putting it on. My arms are so sensitive to even the slightest touch. I'm now lying down with arms elevated on pillows. Hopefully all of this will help. -

@Orchids&Dragons good suggestion. I haven't been doing much elevating. -

Drains have been out for 3 days. I was having issues with the original compression garment so I switched to ace bandages several days ago, with my Dr permission. I just now pushed myself to get that old garment back on to see if it will help. Hurt like a mfer to get it on. My arms are just so sensitive to even the slightest touch especially in the extra swollen areas. Plus I'm just a baby, with a very low pain threshold lol -

11 days post arm lift surgery. My lower arms are really swollen from around the elbow all the way down to, and including, my hands. And it hurts too. I'm keeping them wrapped up in the ace bandages. I don't know what to do to alleviate the swelling and the pain. Any thoughts? -
